Hi! I think the navy is gorgeous too! The material actually feels soft and thin..not thick or chunky. I haven't had the bag long enough to know about staining. I don't think it will be a problem, although I am more careful with my lighter color bags. If you decide to pick it up in the navy colorway you would not need to worry about that as much.
