Pryor didn't get a fair shake. He played well with what we had, but then got a concussion against Denver I believe and never got another shot. I think he could've been a really good QB, especially if he were just coming out of college in today's game.
We need to find an announcer like the 'audio corruption' dude - he was great! He could call weekly highlights, like the 'old nfl' highlights dude. They should hire you to make sure the voice comes out correctly.
it was a very old offensive formation which had no receivers set up. It was also responded to by a very old (considered defunct) defensive formation called the 46 defense, which basically went all out against running plays. It occurred on 3rd and 1, with the running back being considered to be certain to get the ball given that the fullback had extremely few rushing attempts and that Bono was one of the least mobile quarterbacks in the league. The ball went to Bono, and so all 11 defenders ended up getting fooled on the play, resulting in one of the least-contested runs in the history of the NFL.
Alex Smith has had two 50+ yard runs in his career. Well... one might actually be 49 yards, but the other one was 70 haha! I think that run happened after you made this video. But you just never expected it from him haha
Long forgotten but very good Rams and Bears QB Billy Wade ran for about 60 yards on a busted play in the late fifties which I saw on TV in my early teens.
So glad to see my Bears Bobby Douglas in the vid. Douglass was not fast, but he was tough to bring down. Held the most yards rushing for a QB for awhile.
Prime Michael Vick was an absolute cheat code. His intuitive, "blacktop" footwork just before he took off was mesmerizing, and is something that just can't be taught.
I came to write the same comment. That's just crazy not to include Young's run against the Vikings. That was the greatest QB run in the history of the game. His jukes, his dodges, his jumps, his breaking tackles - the whole way was full of resistance, to where his legs just gave out and he collapsed from exhaustion at the end. It was spectacular. It was sensational. Unmatched QB athleticism and stamina. OK, if it was a yard shy of 50 then it required adding as an honorable mention at the very least. It deserves to be included in any collection of great QB runs.
Man I almost forgot about Bobby Douglass. That guy had an arm that could go through a barn door, he just couldn't hit the damn thing. So his running ability made him special. They tried for years to convince him to be a runningback with his YPC and he swore against it.
Dutch Clark for the Lions had a few that were 55+ yards on attempts. Granted the clips maybe very hard to find, but he is a QB and is one of the greatest in Detroit Lion history.
Man when they showed that kordell Stewart touchdown and the video quality just reminded me how old I'm getting 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ I remember that touchdown
Should have opened with Steve Young's Viking TD run & explained that at 49 yards (not counting all the cutbacks, zig-zags) it didn't make the cut. For sheer athleticism and entertainment that QB run is hard to beat. (Also his TD run against the Rams.) That guy didn't know how to quit.
The best part about the Bono run is over the rest of his 13 year career he had a total of 181 rushing yards on 124 carries. Despite having 125 career carries that one run accounted for 30% of his career rushing yards and 14% of his career touchdowns.
Ken Stabler had a 30-yard touchdown run right before The Immaculate Reception. If you count the playoffs, that one run was about 25% of the rushing yards he got in his whole career.
I do to. You have to wonder if he woulda scored had he been wearing modern shoes. Look at those high topper Army boots he was pickin' up and puttin' down. Looked like he gassed out. It may not have been planned in the huddle, but I dont know how anyone could say this wasn't a quarterback sneak!! GB defense sure thought it was sneaky enough!!!!
Jake Carlson Stop spreading false information Kaepernick was the 49ers Starter when he opted out of his contract, the Blaine Gabbert story is that Kaepernick while under Jim Tomsula was benched for one game and then put on IR for the remainder of the season the following season the 49ers had Chip Kelly as coach and Kaepernick was still recovering from his injuries which put him on IR once Kaepernick was healthy and restructured his injury clause contract he was put in as the Starter for the rest of the season that’s the truth.
Especially since he has the highest recorded yards per carry of any NFL player ever. One would think there's at least one 80 yard burner in there lifting the load. Nope. Pure speed.
Bobby Douglas was a monster on the field !! If he had more finesse he would have been one of the greats . His receivers said he threw 10 yd. passes as hard as his 100yd. passes making his shorter passes very difficult to manage , but turn him loose on a running play and watch the bodies fly. LOL
Rg3 only gets one? Y'all don't understand, 2012 with Griffin was UNREAL. in my life crowds that crazy were only talked about as part of history lessons about rfk stadium. Never been that excited about a season or player EVER
Problem is that's not #1 in the skill set for a QB. Sure a guy who can get out of trouble in a jam but a guy who just takes off isn't a true QB, more of a RB out of position
@@nolanmarx3693 Let's see how his career goes. Time & time again these option/running QB's just prove it takes a true pocket passer to be successful in this league
I'm not trying to defend what he did but videos like this make me wonder what Vick could've done if he wasn't out of the league for years during his prime.
He was in those post-Favre years along with Christian Ponder, Josh Freeman, and I think Donovan McNabb. He’s also a Wide Reciever, so that explains the speed. Not a great QB tbh, although he did pretty well in that Lions game, almost digging us out of the hole Ponder put us in.
It's a shame that Kordell Stewart was such a subpar QB. Had he had the arm to match his legs, he would've been such a weapon. I dunno if Randell Cunningham level, but still a powerful weapon
If the XFL were smart, they would recruit Colin K and make him the face of the league! Can you imagine how many people would tune in and stop watching the NFL?
I'll never understand why people are saying Steve young should be in this video. His longest run wasn't over 50 yards so it should be obvious that he wouldn't make the list yet it seems like half the people came expecting to see Steve young. I find that quite silly.
