Just too much talking , My God .... Let the Trailer be the " WITNESS " on what it truly is . All this micro management conversation even on the quality of the Television ??? . Just SHOW IT .
For such a large 5th wheel I don't feel they used the space that well. I would have thought there would have been a second bedroom or office area with all the space there is to work with.
agreed, kitchen was too big and am I the only one who hates 1/2 baths in an rv? I get it if it's for business use but for living or vacations and such why do you need an extra bathroom? Preference I know but with limited space...
I could see myself getting into this, then immediately getting kicked out of lol Beautiful fifth wheel Even if I could afford it though, there isn't any sleeping space for kids
When are you going to do a podcast on Spacecraft ? You talk about one off top of the line 5th wheels built to order. Oh yes there pricey as all get out but u get what u pay for.
Three stage water filtration. Meanwhile in my world we have a $20 filter that screws on to the hose. 😂 they could reuse their black water with that thing. (Kidding)
Good thing lipofe4 batteries last forever because i do not want to be the guy having to chage the 4 extra batteries stuck in there! Also i did not see a water manifold, wich could clean up the plumbing a lot. Otherwise it is a superb unit, but with quite a low cargo capacity for that much storage.
I know this is a video from several months ago but was it just me or did anyone else hear that very loud and buzzy sound I assume was the A/C. If I had just spent that kind of money I wouldn't take it until that sound was silenced!
Its amazing to me that in 48 feet of trailer, they can't fit a 4 person table or a second bedroom. I have no idea what the market for this thing is but I have no idea why they crammed a 38 foot floorplan into a 48 foot frame. Top marks for the build quality and finish, I will surely never be able to afford one, maybe those who do will appreciate what they have done here.
What a fabulous rig. The only thing they blew it with are those silly dual vanity sinks. Totally unnecessary, and a waste of good space that could be used for something else.
I guess I'm an odd ball, because I don't like anything about this rig. It's so long, but it doesn't seem to use space well. It feels boxy and closed in to me. I don't like the cabinet color and all the different accent colors. I absolutely hate the kitchen lay out. This just looks tired and uninspired. I prefer the Brinkley, by a lot. Actually, I prefer just about every mid range to high end rig than this one. This version of the RKFB is a complete miss for me.
This is a beautiful unit! I prefer a mix of wood cabinets, but really nothing negative about the unit. If I was in the market for such a behemoth unit, I wouldn’t think twice about paying $200k for this unit! Heck, I couldn’t even afford the truck to haul this monster. It sure would be nice having this as a home on the road as long as you could handle the stress of hauling it and not flip out when you rub up against a bush or tree branch. Perfect unit for National Parks!
A really nice trailer. For a “best of the best” trailer, it’s surprising it has a standard porcelain foot flush toilet, I can’t understand they wouldn’t have gone with a high end macerating toilet, and the location of the toilet seems awkward. They also went with a standard gray/black discharge, not one of the high end powered units with the much better small diameter discharge hoses. If I’m paying $500000 for a trailer, I would think this would be standard. I also really think they should have gone with a fibreglass back cap. He says they can’t because of the storage door, but for a half million dollar trailer, they should be able to engineer that. I realize these are “first world problems” but for a half million bucks I would expect everything should be top of the line.
JD, it would be great if you could highlight a few things for those of us who like to cook and bake. First, a pantry, if it has one. Second, kitchen storage for pots, pans and dishes. And third, a dishwasher. Sometimes I see these things as you fly through the kitchen but, other times, like this time, I missed it all if it was there.
I’d love to see them build a 53’ unit. Something similar to most race trailers that are 53’. Something that would do front bedroom mid living room and kitchen and rear loft within the first 40’. That have a 13’ garage. Or do 33’ of living space with a 20’ garage. Add half bath. But mainly I want these front bathrooms to not be connected to the front bedroom
Show me the salesman changing the water filters and replacing those batteries. At that cost there should be better access. And a flexible heating duct like for a dryer, zip tied to the frame is just sad
Question -- do they make a drivable rv??? This was simply GORGEOUS. It's ideally everything I would want with a few changes (stainless steel sink and better quality fireplace) but I loved the quality and the decor.
Hey JD hope you're having a great day? I love this Luxe Elite! What is the full paint called on this unit? The weight is alot heavier then what I thought. The inside is amazing! The living room area is just amazing with the storage an space. The large TV an the electric fireplace space heater. It took me by surprise with all three AC units having heat pumps in them. You have three heating options in this fifth wheel. I do wish that it had the electric fireplace space heater in the bedroom too. I'm glad that it's a bath an a half.the master bathroom is amazing. The shower fixture is amazing. Thank you JD for showing us this Luxe fifth wheel an giving us all the information on this unit!!! Your number one fan an friend Leonard Nelson from North Carolina!!!! I also like that it comes with 1600 watts of solar an 800 amp hour lithium batteries, plus a 6500 watt generator.!!!!!!
I was impressed with the materials, but the design for something that huge didn't impress me. The kitchen island thing was stupid. Really cramped it up to the point it was like a gally kitchen. Try having someone washing dishes and another using the stove. The design just wasn't inovated enough for such a super high end rig.
For a high end model, they used cheap appliances. Insignia is Best Buys' home brand. It's nowhere close to being elite. For the price, this isn't remotely up to par. Smh.
The wife and I lived in a pretty nice 42 foot toy hauler for awhile by circumstance. Then a 32 foot rv, again by circumstance. As impressive as this is it's got nothing on the apartment we now live in lol! That being said it is amazing and I'd love too have something like this someday for beach vacations. We like the beach.... I also just have too make it known as amazing and beyond stupid expensive rvs have gotten the apartment is still better and doesn't require a stupid expensive truck too move around. Note my intention with this comment is positive. Lived in multiple rvs for a long time. It was fun. Just not as nice as a brick and mortar home.
Ok, where do i start? All that expense and luxury and the products its made of are still junk. This is fine if you don’t want to sit outside. How can they not have a FULL length SINGLE awning so if it’s raining you don’t have a strip in the middle where everything gets wet. It seems like the people that design these never actually use them.
Very nice. A guy just needs an extra 350K for the unit and truck to pull it. Possibly even more. would have been nice to see a office so a person could still work from it. I guess you could ask them to customize .
not impressed, I get that they used high quality materials but frankly it looks no different than any other 5th wheel of it's type. Nothing special about the design elements of the inside at all.
I don't know why these RV companies insist on using real hardwoods for the interiors and finish work. There are many companies making some incredible embossed laminates that are indistinguishable from real wood, and they are lighter, stronger, and don't have the maintenance issues that real wood has. Those appliances are garbage, too. LG sucks, Insignia is Best Buy's private label (so it could be any brand). I saw an Onan genny up in the front, so I'd go with an electric cooktop. Open flames in a small, flammable area like that makes me nervous.
Did I miss the $. I am picking up my Riverstone 442mc later this week. I think the only thing that this unit has on my Riverstone is more solar and weight
I couldn't agree with you more that LUXE is one of the Best-of-the-Best dealers on the market. The New Horizons and Spacecraft units are a step above the LUXE brand, but they have very similar build features. We almost bought a 42-foot mid-den unit, but we couldn't get the funding resolved so we ended up with a different brand flagship unit that is a few steps down from this builder. I could live in this unit without any problems, but I agree with Carol Ann that adding an office space would have made a lot of sense for any full-timer. Putting a desk in the living room area would be one possibility and is probably the only space in this floor plan that would work the best.
I’ve been watching A LOT of RV/trailera lately since I’m interested in purchasing my first one and I’ve noticed that American brands are BORING. They need to hire better decorators/designers. The European and Chinese brands are leaps beyond in terms of aesthetics. I wouldn’t trust the durability of the Chinese ones BUT in terms of design, they probably have the best. Theirs look so futuristic.
Beautiful RV but probably way out of my price range. Thanks JD for the tour. Love it, especially for full time living. Would probably go with a HDT class 8 truck to pull it with.
To be a 48 feet….they didn’t use the space that great….1 BR. Small LR. I’ve seen much better layouts with 2BR’s & 1 1/2 BR’s with a bunk loft….Then there is way to many different tones of woods & the tile is just all over the place….
Like the floorplan. With all the tech that's out today I'd opt for an all electric 5th wheel. Plenty of roof area to have a nice solar array also. Other than that looks pretty nice in and out.
Cable slide on a 290k plus rv,? Get outta here. Just putting lipstick on a pig with the wood and finishes. Windows look the same as a 70k unit , cable slide is garbage, "whisper quite" ac is on 60k units so no big deal, exposed pex under the cabinets, toilet blocking the shower, still on a lippert frame and floor plan is not that great. Think you are better off with new horizon or space craft if you are blowing that kind of money. Feel like they missed the mark for that expensive of an RV.
NH is the top of the top, Luxe is a level below. There's about 100K in price difference between a similar Luxe and New Horizons. It's a NH for poor people. ;)
Can you really call people who buy this Campers? I would call them Resort dwellers. If you are in this league might as well get A and save yourself the hassle of hooking up...
It’s Beautiful JD, but We love the Paradigm 382RK for they same layout as this. It’s a whole lot less money, and also lighter to pull. We are trying to decide between that and their 370FB. I’ll add the 8K axles, with the ID suspension and the brakes along with dual pane windows for a whole less money. If I wanted all the Amenities that this Luxe offered, I’d rather go with a Newmar A class. Excellent post as always!
Beautiful unit! However, not being an all electric unit ( oven, stove, etc.) makes me feel uncomfortable. My propane insignia in my Durango Gold blew up with me in front of the stove. It ruined my kitchen, blew the wall out behind the stove, and refrigerator. The oven door blew, right off its hinges, and hit me full force, hitting me in my shin bones and thighs, causing cut and extensive bruising with hematoma's. I am heeling slowly. I am now waiting for my insurance adjuster to decide if it can be repaired. I hope he decides to total it. Anyway, as I said , for me and my family NO MORE PROPANE APPLIANCES.
Very nice. Would love to have one to live in. Tons of storage space, which I love. I'd cut out that island in the kitchen though and put it where that window with the plugs are. I'd take out one of those sofas in the living room area too, as I prefer recliners. Two recliners would be awesome.
I've been wondering. Do they make alarm systems for all of those outside compartments? I imagine those generators and batteries aren't cheap! I'd want to know if someone is trying to cannibalize my RV!
its a gorgeous Rv but not really sure why they would make it 48 feet long and only make it a 1-bedroom unit. I understand people want a bigger living and kitchen area but the size of those areas in this rv is unwarranted especially with only 1 bedroom, IMO. thanks for the tour, you always do such a great job displaying and giving us all the information on these RVs.
If you think about it, when there's only two people living full time and the comfort and space of the rooms, this is perfect! The space. The interior storage. It's like living in a small apartment while being full time traveling. This is a dream coach for my wife and I! Way beyond my budget but it's still just a dream to have one like this!! haha
I just saw this unit in Vegas. The rep said they can install up to 12 200-amp solar panels and up to 14 batteries. She also said that you can run all 3 ACs on such solar system.
That there is a beautiful 5th wheel, this is something that i wldve gotten to replace the RV i had at the time that i was planning on living permanently in my RV om my land, however i decided to go in the direction of just getting a single-wide manufactured home, but i must admit that this 5th wheel is sooooooo much nicer, but i wanted to have a bit more room, thanks for the tour😊
LUXE 5TH WHEEL RV ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST 5TH WHEELS ON THE MARKET . YES THEY ARE HEAVY , WELL INSULATED AND MADE WITH FINEST MATERIALS AND YHEY ARE EXPENSIVE. THIS UNIT IS AT LEAST $321,000 PLUS TAX. ADD THE RAM 5500 TRUCK AND THIS PACKAGE WOULD BE AROUND $460,000 PLUS TAX.
I would hope that Luxe had learned that those pop-up power outlets in the kitchen are more trouble than they're worth. Users have been experiencing issues with water getting down in there causing rust.
The questions I have for ALL RVs: what is fully accessible when all of the slides are closed? (Road Mode) If any of the bedroom, bathroom or fridge are blocked, then what is the point of having a floor plan that failed in this regard? No amount of money can fix those bad designs once built.
Some care about that some done. For instance, our Brookstone 398MBL has the bathroom and master bedroom available with all slides in. There is a micro fridge and sink outside if we need those. It all depends on what you're looking to access
