Shahryar is one of the few Derby winners who remains active even at the age of six. However, he has shown no signs of slowing down, and he achieved the best results among the Deep Impact offspring that participated this race. His mental strength is amazing.
I got a theory about Auguste Rodin. I think he might be a little claustrophobic. The way he shot through the gap, down the inside, in the Breeders Cup, could have been because he doesn't like being crowded - as well as his abilty of course. He was noticeably kept to the outside in the Derby, had a clean run through in the Champion Stakes. Only had one or two horses to track in the Futurity. It's difficult to know for sure, the reason for his defeat today. If he does a no show next time out, i think connections will draw stumps up on his career, and retire him. Hope though, he can build on the best of Auguste Rodin.
@@TheKnowledge1 he ran the fastest final 2f in the derby recorded from 1991 onwards. Third fastest from home turn 1965 onwards. To say he has always been a donkey is out and out wrong.
@@chimpzilla I backed him in the Derby he won well. But from there he’s looked a stiff and not picked up once for whatever reason. Leopardstown plugged on one paced. Then dream run in America should’ve pissed up by 6 lengths. Just stays on one pace again. Instant rule out every time he runs now. Donkey
Auguste Rodin very disappointing today. He showed nothing in this race. A complete bust. He may get another start & if it’s this bad, retirement to the breeding shed may be the order of the day.

Emily Upjohn. Just a piece of strong work. Three of lengths off a muddling pace race. Making up 6 lengths on the winner turning in. Coronation Cup. May 31st Epsom. Is a penalty kick. Will be odds on, on the day.
so you're saying, the favourite, was deliberately held back and tailed off by the jockey. The horse didn't want to know today. It's happened twice before, the horse wasn't on a going day.
