I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really care for this movie. It started off pretty good but the whole "devil made me do it" always felt like a cop out for me. Not to mention Nicholas Cage was just weird, not scary
i expected everybody to shit on this movie cuz i thought it was not good at all. but to my surprise, tons of glowing reviews.. so i feel like i might be in the minority..
This movie was completely trash, it’s not scary, it’s very dull and boring, me and my girlfriend were unimpressed, we should’ve watched minions instead
I just seen it tonight. yah it was verry "Silence of the Lambs" meets "Carrie". the title threw me, didn't see the significance(?) "Doll Face" yah.. though too on the nose(?).. the Natalie spirit ball I did not get at all(???) but the rest was really done well. the use of silent Dred was effective and relatable well done😃🏆🍿🎞
It was very good and the atmosphere and sound are super creepy but the ending was a little underwhelming. Both Monroe and Cage were great. I like how Longlegs was used sparingly, but I also wanted a little more of him. I think they could've gone more subtle with the demonic stuff even though the dolls were very cool. I think it would be near perfect if they paced out the reveal a bit and make it a solid two hours. Definitely would rewatch it though.
your thoughts on the trailer for this film not giving anything away plot related that's how trailers should be for almost every film - especially comic book related films, no reveals, no leaks
I feel like whether someone loved or hated this movie is a good indicator as to whether or not I should value their opinions. Personally, I loved the movie.
We rank it about the same, I give it 9.5/10. I think its a great film, but I cant help feeling that it was missing something. Nic Cage absolutely killed the role, and that particular scene with him and Maika, (that took an unexpected turn) was intense and wild. Overall id say this is less of a horror movie and more of a detective movie with satanic elements. Id also say that this film leans more into "future cult classic" as opposed to "mainstream horror film". I can see why it isnt for everyone, but those with a love of the genre and not having everything spelled out will love it. I would HIGHLY recommend seeing it, and im happy its doing well financially! Well deserved.
@MinusoneG Hey friend, it's called an opinion! You don't have to agree and that's what makes them great. They're yours, and while they can change or be influenced, they don't have to be. So yes, I'm sure we watched the same film, my opinion of it happens to be different from yours, and that's okay!
