The vibes off this scene are intense. I remember seeing this in the theater and reacting to how Kiernan Shipka's character so quickly went from being nice and polite to where she ended up. She reminded me of some of the interviews of the Manson family girls who committed the murders for him how they would do anything he asked, no matter what and how quickly they could go from polite to deadly in a split second. This might be a supernatural thriller, but I can tell you, as a retired LEO who dealt with and talked to real killers and people like this and Alicia Witt's character of Ruth, they both nailed their characters and there was some serious study of mental illness and cult following that went into this film. It's amazing how realistic the behaviors of those two characters are here compared to people with real issues like that.
@@luminakillewich Possibly but it looked like it was only Ruth by herself delivering the doll to the victims so it could have just been neighbours but who knows
@@DouglasBull-rk6tvthose are the same types that gave this masterpiece bad reviews. This is the movie that Silenced the "Silence of the lambs". Longlegs is the new salvation of the genre.
@@troillandford7679 Damn, that makes sense. I thought it was the doll because of how he greets her and then looks awkward as if he's greeted an inanimate object.
@@troillandford7679 I have to further defend my position and say that the earlier scenes of the mother playing with a knife are from the doll's perspective as well
Probably the biggest theme in the bible is human frailty and our need for God's forgivness and strength. Don't be so proud and confident in your faith. We're all sinners.
@@johnbidwell2393 I don’t believe in God at all. It’s actually pretty obvious that religion is a man made concept used to keep the indecent in check. My human frailty could never create an environment that a demon or Satan would find habitable. Sudden urges to kill? No thanks, I’ll just chill cuz that seems way too extra. Nothing could force me to forget my core fundamentalsz
@@johnbidwell2393 I don’t have any faith silly pants. I’m not religious at all and it’s pretty obvious that God was created by men to keep the indecent in check. And I can count on both hands all of my sins all of which I am accountable for. It’s pathetic that most people do not govern themselves as such and become vulnerable to supernatural evil.
