The longsword is defiantly a high skill weapon, its just also depends on how lucky you are with the net code that match and if things will just phase through your sword lmao.

That juicy parry drag. For people that don’t play fighter, the parry attacks do almost 90% more damage (per hit) than your regular attacks. The best example of a good longsword player can be seen in this video with how Kawa plays it: He’s defensive mid-fight, while applying pressure (which might be the juiciest non-spear poke in the game) constantly. A bad longsword player will just take foot shots while holding right click, when they could have hit you 5 times in the span it took for them to get one parry off.

What drives me mad are all the fighters running with daggers FCN DAGGERS EVERYWHERE.

Heya Sparky, i just recently started getting deeper into DaD and was wondering if you'd make a more longform guide on longsword fighter for PvP, i can handle everything, but bosses and players but, i refuse to give up on longsword. You're an inspiration to every fighter player out there. 💚

What seems unfair to me about this weapon is that even if they hit you in the body first, there is still the possibility that it touches the sword and the parry is activated, they should make the parry only work if they can't hit your body

The 578 MS Warlock is way too common these days. Fucking sucks balls as a fighter. No counter, just have to hope they fuck up. Back when I played Warlock I was not afraid to use my sword smh these new generation Warlocks.

@Sparkykawa i'm a longsword user (level ~85), i've just discovered your channel and find myself using the same perks! Can i ask you why do you use plate armor? Should i use it instead of high dexterity doublet + leather gloves + adventurer boots setup? Any help would be much appreciated, love this style, no issues PvE but i suck in PvP.

Fight at 3:00 makes me want to punch myself in the face - nothing could be less hype than the longsword stalemate. If parry stance is activated and not triggered, give it a cooldown. If the parry is active and the enemy gets around it, also parry cooldown. Current system is completely brainless (not aimless, there's skill to connect the hitbox but the footwork/gameplan of the longsword is brainless), promotes stalling and r-click fishing. There isn't enough frames on a longsword S1 to even trade when they swing. It's ambigueous, dogwater design. At the very least give the parry a windup instant of being instant.

Why do you use the huge shield as your secondary?

I agree that longsword is high skill ceiling, but I also think that the skill floor is pretty high as well. You could never parry and it would still be one of, if not the best, melee weapons in the game due to it's attack pattern. In fact that could nerf the parry damage increase down to a 10% increase and with counterattack and sword mastery, you're still going to 2 shot almost everyone in the blink of an eye.

Longsword seems more like a high skill floor low skill ceiling weapon given the fact you can one tap with the parry but to each their own
