Couldnt agree more. Riding These since 2 years. Most reliable bike part I ever bought. Only now I think of servicing them

I'm still using my old original saint flat pedals and they have been bombproof. If I switch to anything it's going to be these

Loctite can be easily removed with heat. Heat the pin with a heat gun or hair drier and the pins should easily be removed.

I like them, maybe I'll switch from my Plastamps to these one day. Great presentation video.

i would say Shimano is the best component supplier in the bike world. i usually install XT components on my bikes, never been disappointed yet.

Good review Wil. I'm a bit of a Shimano fanboy - for brakes anyway, and only use flats, but their flat pedals are almost prehistoric compared to my OneUp aluminum pedals...... Good stuff as always Wil.

Cheers mate! Those OneUp pedals are the bomb-diggity hey! We had a set of those reviewed on the website last year where they took out a 'Singletrack Recommended' award. Really nice and thin platform on those for sure! [ST Wil]

Im using the smaller pins for enduro and havnt had any problems yet. I was surprised how well they work and they dont provide to much grip so you can move your foot a bit if you want but still have enough grip in rough sections.

Are 5/10's really that good? Preparing to buy a lightly used one tomorrow.

Gábor Kiss They work for me depends on your pedals the rubber is hard enough not be damaged and grips so well that you have to lift your foot to move your feet around...

I bought these pedals a week ago and they were spinning relatively smoothly out of the box . I took then on a leisurely 8 mile ride completely on road , and now they are stiff ,clunky and i noticed some bearing lube coming out . This happened to both pedals . Is this part of some sort of break in process or am I going to need a rebuild after only 8 miles ?

To add to my previous comment... Do Not buy these from Amazon. I had bad bearings out of the box , and have seen other reviews saying the same ,so it seems a bit hit or miss with these pedals as far as quality control. You're gonna pay shipping and restocking fee if you have to return them ($30) prices have dropped and you can get these at a reputable retailer. I returned mine and bought again from REI for less, no problem so far and I can return them whenever I want with no hassle if theres an issue.

same tool as for SPD PD-M520. As I already have it and it cost about 1 EUR, not an issue. But I agree with you!

Be warned, if you do slip on them, they will tear the shit out of you and leave some wicked cuts needing stitches. Use them without PPE at your own peril.

500g? 553g is real weight. And... it's to much for their price. Race Face Atlas, Dmr Vault, 380-410 grams for almost similar price
