So nice to see someone filming for genuine reasons rather than sticking a phone in the police station to get a reaction. I'm just down the road in Blurton. My nan actually worked at the Gladstone pottery museum years ago.
Good video man. I gave the vid a like. Must say though, Woolworths only closed down in 2008 so only 16 years ago. Also, that very talented busker singing The Drugs Don't Work is me too haha!
Love your videos fella, very sad to see my old community in such a way. Had a walk through from Lightwood to Longton in 2019 and had a couple of beers, then went to the mother town for more childhood memories, breaks your heart to see it so run down but the people are great. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Further up from tesco going out of the town is phoenix retail park, greggs have moved to there where you will also find costa drive thru, mcdonalds and various stores.
Great video - thanks duck,I haven’t been Longton for many years just drove through! But yeh woolies-miss that shop , it’s such a shame all our towns are so rundown like this - I’m local to castle but there’s hardly anything there anymore either …. The high st has gone unfortunately hasn’t it 😢 x
That building with blinds hanging out was a huge cannabis factory all the way along 6 out of 10 old buildings on your video were weed factory’s including Woolworths Longton is full of them
