Thanks again Andrew! The Vivo is well known and runs great, the Lono Flow seems like something to me and I returned the Lenka dash because the elastic edge of the foot entry irritates my scar considerably (Achilles tendon rupture operation on the left foot). So I advise everyone to try on Be Lenka's with elastic edge first before purchasing! Greetings from The Netherlands.

Yea, I noted that in my Dash review, I think. Although it wasn't an issue for me having very skinny ankles, ha. Sorry they didn't work out for you. The Lono or Vivo Primus Lite Knit are definitely looser and more comfortable at the opening.

NIce review, Andrew! This reminds me a lot of the Groundies Active which have moved to the top of my favorite barefoot shoe list! The Lono Flow size chart lists size 44 as a US 11. Depending on the manufacturer, I'm either a 43 or 44...would you recommend sizing up or down in the Flow? Thanks!

Yea, I own the Active that's almost the same color, ha! I'd say the Flow is a lighter more flexible, less padded version of the Active. I'm usually a 44 and the Flow 44 fit just right.

They look comfy and I'm always glad to see a wide toebox, but if you plan on walking anywhere near gravel I recommend you don't buy these. The hexagon shape insets are perfect for getting small rocks stuck in them as known with the similar Nike Free RN sole 👍

I came across a brand called VIBAe shoes recently. They are quite expensive and not 100% barefoot but the quality is excellent and they look really good. Maybe not your j, but maybe they will send you a pair to test.

Interesting, it seems like they might actually be barefoot, because they say the sole is only 3mm and the 11mm padded insole is removable. I'll def reach out to them!

I love these shoes however my size 45 (12 US) was on the short side. I gave them to a friend and ordered a 46.

Dang, that's too bad. They fit me the same as Vivo, but sometimes it's the shape that affects things for different people. Hope the size up works better. Also kudos to you for being a great friend! (:

Update: I got the shoes a half size larger. I own a pair of Vibro and Xero but the Lono Flow is by far the most comfortable....Love them!

In dry weather, yea. They're super soft and comfortable. Obviously a knit upper would soak through in rain or deep puddles.

How is the instep volume? I always find Vivo to be too restrictive. These look like they might fit looser, which is good for me. Thanks in advance if you get a chance to answer. As always, I enjoy the content! I am still catching up though!

Shape wise it's medium volume, but like you say, the upper is very stretchy and should provide plenty of room for higher arches.

I'm a 44 in both, but the Lono are a bit wider and of course a lot more flexible.

There is so much to love about this boot, but I was dismayed to see, though they call themselves 'barefoot', they are not foot-shaped. The toe-box tapers against the big toe. The way they made the lasts for them was to take the regular last for the AR, flatten it to be essentially zero-drop, and widen it along the whole length.

But Andrew, I'm afraid of hefty import duties on the purchase of a pair of Flows. Last January, for 1 pair of Creepers Merino socks (purchase price 16.95 euros in US), in addition to 9.95 euros in shipping costs, I also had to pay 11.40 euros in import duties. Those are expensive socks! I would like it if you mentioned in the description of a new product who the importers in Europe are. Is that possible?

Yea, import duties suck. Unfortunately, they vary depending on which country you're importing to and my audience is from many countries, so it wouldn't possible to list them all. You can always use my shoe finder too to search for brands in the US or any other country: bit.ly/48ngpFd

I wonder about the claim of 'biodegradable'. Does 'disintegrate' mean the material actually returns to natural substances, or just breaks down into very small particles?

It's hard for me to test durability with so many shoes in rotation, but my guess is the nibs will wear down fairly quick, while the medium 6mm sole will last a lot longer, probably 2-3 years, assuming no twisting or scuffing.

Vibram soles are always the best, but toe shoes aren't great for wet or sub freezing weather.

Be careful ordering these shoes! I ordered the Lono Flow white sneaker, I needed sizing advice and gave the company representatve my foot measurements. The company suggested I get a size larger than my regular size so that I could fit an insert and wear thin socks. I did that and now I have a shoe that is very snug all around for barefeet- no socks or insert. I decided to keep them and wear them for streetwear when I needed a white sneaker for limited periods of time. It has to be for SHORT periods of time. The shoe feels very tight after an hour's wear. The toe box is shallow top to bottom so that my big toe has pressure from the shoe top. The shoe is sized too small and the shallow toebox causes my big toes to hurt from the pressure. First time I ever had that problem from any shoe or boot. I am very dissatisfied with the shoe and will never order another of this brand. An 8.5 size is more like a 7 US

Sizing is such a strange thing. My Flow's fit true to size and were exactly as long as my Vivo's (both 11's). Sometimes I think it must have more to do with individual foot shapes and the shape of the shoe than the length itself.
