Funny. Surgeon literally just explained this to me and now I’m see thing. They can get donor cartilage or (less common) poke holes where the cartilage is missing into the bone and apparently it heals

Poking holes is microfracture surgery that doesn’t work well (Greg Oden and countless others). The meniscus is a disc that can be removed and transplanted

Surgery recovery sucks but it's worth it. Just don't tear it again

Had surgery for mine back in July and justttt getting back on the court and more importantly to work, (electrical) a couple months ago. If you can afford an ACL and afford it and afford the time without work I’d highly recommend. Now the rehab process is no joke if you ever wanna be “back” and the patience of those days not being able to do anything is huge. It was tough but I’m the night is over for me. If any of that did anything. Best of luck brother.
