if you compare lonzo and durant's shooting forms, theyre kind of similar. both bring up the ball on the left side and flick, but since KD is more lankier than lonzo, KD is fine with shooting the ball above his head and has a cleaner arc. lonzo relies more on arm strength and the flick his right arm produces to create a dagger shot. if lonzo was to bring his shot above his head or at least forehead level, they would pretty much have the same forms. Tl;Dr lonzo's form is the weaker version of KD
Lonzo sets the ball on the wrong side of his head but he's properly aligned at the moment of release and I love how he styles his shot after the release. It's really a beautiful shot.
+ACE TM at least I am smart enough to finish college and earn a degree while playing division 3 basketball and do you have a college degree no that's what I thought so I suggest you check yourself before you reck yourself
DarkShadowBlackz18 but.... He's a SG how can you say that? Especially when Lonzo averages more points than Fultz, just saying the hating is getting old my man
I've been working on keeping my guide hand straight without making any interference to my shot, but I'm not generating backspin when I shoot (the ball spins sideways). Is there a way I can work on taking my guide hand off the ball at the right time so I have good backspin?
Alex Dunavant i was struggling with that before Here's some suggestions for you Relax your shooting arm while you are in your shooting motion, also relax your off hand. All your motion need to be smooth.
Very insightful observations. I think the two points the heels not touching and the forward sway goes together because the heels not touching forces you to lean forward, and you balance yourself back by throwing your legs ahead of you. I'm more conservative than you about the set point, and while it's not broken, I wonder how much better of a shooter he would've been with the right form. I don't think there's one way to shoot, but there are wrong ways to do it. And you never saw him get a shot going right, even in the clip you showed, so that's a huge issue in my mind.
This Form Is Great For Those Who Once Injured Their Shooting Arm I Currently Use This And I Actually Had An Increase On My Shooting Percentage So Thanks Coach 😊
notification squad here! gr8 vid Coach, I've been watching ur vids for couple of months and I see lot of progress in my game! thank you for that! ps Are you planning to upload some Lockdown Defence tips?
Can we get a George Hill shooting mechanics video? His percentage is like 44% on the year from 3 with the Jazz and he's a deadly shot. People could really benefit from it. Break it down good. Good video to.
"They're not going to change his shot. I have three sons that shoot lights out and none of them shoot the same because i always tell them perfect 'your' form." That's all I needed to hear, glad on click on this vid
This is exactly what I wanted but I never commented for it cause I didn't think he would do it considering he has a video called ball brothers shooting secrets. Thanks coach
I'm not sure which eye is more dominant but I bat left. Throw right. Play guitar right. Write left. Shoot a basketball right. I've tried shooting like zo for a few hours and after a while I was pretty accurate. It was VERY interesting. My right elbow was very sore for a few days though. Won't be trying it again but it was fun to do for a while. I felt that it took less effort especially from deep.
Coach, I was wondering if you could help me out, or anyone please, when I want to shoot I try to tilt my feet but when I come to realize my right foot keeps straight but my left foot tilts way to the left. Any tips would help 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I actually shoot from the left side as well because i align my elbow with the hoop and I have an elbow flare I've tried fixing it but it makes me miss a ton and when I shoot from the left side I make a ton so yeah 👍
Please tell Lonzo to jump straight up on his jumper... It would be semi-OK to jump slightly towards the basket. But, Lonzo jumps to the left where his feet lead him. BAD!! So, he needs to either line up his right foot towards the basket or simply jump straight up. That will fix everything about his shot for now. Lonzo would still need a new shot going to his right though. I suggest learning the Jerry West shot going to his right!!
Great videos, as per usual. It amazes me how any coach still actively coaching would teach anything other than what you recommend. Any human with common sense watching a high level basketball game would see what you are teaching. If you are reading this and are a person teaching anything other than what is taught on this channel, please stop destroying a persons potential.
I'm left handed but I can tell my shooting form is like Lonzo's. I raise the ball up to my right eye even though my dominant hand is left. What can I do? Another proof is whenever I play on the park people call me "Lonzo" because of that weird shooting form.
