I don't know the seller here, but I do know for certain that the Mercury Grand Marquis are very dependable and reliable automobiles. That is why I own 2 of them! A 1996 (237,000 mi), and a 2003 (202,000 mi). I think that the Mercury Grand Marquis is one of the finest autos ever made in the USA, and I'm not even a Ford guy, lol.
I had one as a rental car one time. I remember driving along, someone would drive up along side of me, I'd look over while wearing sunglasses and they'd back off. I must have looked like a cop or something. Happened more than once, it was quite funny.
I got my first car this summer and it's a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis with 53,000 miles on it. It's also got the digital dash which I actually like. I'm looking forward to a couple hundred thousand low maintenance miles. :)
I'm a proud owner of a red 1996 of this exact vehicle. My mother annoys me about it sometimes, calling it "an old man's car"! While I say it's true in a sense, it did previously belong to my grandmother, who cannot drive anymore, due to her condition (still look forward to a few more years of her though, LOL). However, due to my lack of having a license, I've been unable to tend to my vehicle. The battery has is to be replaced sometime within the next two weeks, and the speedometer (analog) is possibly broken or acting up due to the battery issue. I hope to get it cleaned up as well, so someday, when I get my license (and insurance), I can get my car on the road! Prior receiving it, it always had a smooth ride and that beloved engine purr, especially after the fact it had not had an oil change in 3 years. Absolutely, hands down, a Ford/Mercury masterpiece of class. It also was my dream car growing up!
