his eyes are following her and he blinked too. he's not bored or asleep y'all, he's being attentive. that doesn't mean he's in love either, just paying attention to the person who's having a conversation with him
If he was paying attention to what she’s saying he would be looking at her hands gestures time to time. He is just admiring at her face/the way she talks or something about her aside from the conversation.
This reminds me of when my best friend in college accused me of lusting after our Sociology professor because she said, while in his class, I didn't do anything but stared at him... without blinking. The truth is his class was so boring I usually spent it daydreaming.
when I was in elementary school (until middle school), my fam always had breakfast together. Apparently I always stared at my older sister. She sat across me, and she would get angry because I was “staring” at her. It always took awhile for me to realize that she got mad at me because I didnt even know she was talking. Idk where I was, but my mind obviously weren’t there. I am still daydreaming till this day.

As a guy who daydreams in every classes I've been to and even in exams I can confirm when you get into the daydream 'zone' you literally can't see what's happening around you and it's the best tool to waste time so classes end faster
