ok the abyss mages teleport to ur location but theres another trick to this... 1. go to the cliff in the opposite direction 2. go to the highest point 3. kill the guys in this order: (ruin hunter thingy, hydro mage, cryo mage, and the hilichurls) RECOMMENDED CHARACTERS: -anyone with a bow -electro -pyro -anemo
Hi everyone so I’ve realised recently that a lot of people are struggling on this quest so I’m going to tell you how I beat this quest hope it helps! So first of all I got my first five star recently which is yelan but if you don’t have a five star that’s ok I just recommend using higher leveled characters. So in my team I used lvl 40 Yelan, 50 traveler, 47 chongyun and 44 noelle. I recommend using a hydro and cryo character so you can freeze the ruin hunter thing and buy yourself more time. If you are new you can bring Barbara or kaeya. Next if you have noelle I definitely recommend her since she has a shield and that will save you some health and time. Ok so first you need to kill off the abyss mages first. You can easily do that by by using a bow character and shooting them afar so that it triggers them but not the ruin hunter. When they teleport to you, you can just kill them off. If you are running low on health, teleport to a statue of the seven because when you come back the enemies you killed will be dead but all the other enemies that are alive will have regained their health but so have you. Then when it is only the ruin guard just take advantage of the elements and reactions. If you have higher levels characters than the ruin hunter it will help a lot. Bring food too if you are low! Finally, don’t be scared! It’s ok and don’t let this quest stop u I believe in you because this quest scared me so much I almost quit genshin. If you are still terrified, grind some primos and get a five star. I’m free to play so i recommend doing single pulls not ten pulls. Good luck!!!
Another good one is too first kill the abyss mages so it’s easier, if you have a electro and hydro characters, use that on the bot thing, it’ll kill it faster
I think a technique is shooting and attracting the abyss mages and lure it at the side and kill it one ny ones then proceed to killing the machine thing. I am currnetlt stuck on this quest rn so im trying this tactic, wish me luck :,)

I just went crazy with all my burst lol, I set up zhongli Sheild and charged toward them like there’s no tomorrow. I was lucky that it rained so I spammed kaeya’s skill. But when the rain ended I just used dendro traveler and thoma’s skill lol.
I really appreciate the simplicity of characters and method on this one, a lot easier for players like me without any of the other fancy characters. I ended up using Sara because I saw someone use Fischl on one of their own runs. I don't think this affected much but I was unable to hit the weak point for most attacks. Not hitting the weak point allowed it to come straight to the base of this area and it did kill Sara a few times, but nothing too bad as I had enough items to heal. Finally this weight that I've had for months is lifted.
My personal tip is to go to the mountain on the other side(as others suggested) but rather than aiming for the mages, you snipe the guard and because you're so high up you can dodge the attacks from the guard like 80% of the time(but sometimes you get hit so use a healer). The mages surprisingly don't notice you and teleport towards(unlike when trying to snipe the guard from the mountain in the vid). I personally used amber(lvl 28) and qiqi(level 50) but you can probably replace qiqi for like any of the healers.
I used this trick for Ruin guard long back when I was low AR and ruin guard was the scariest thing I knew. Then after a while I started to figure out his patterns and he wasn't scary anymore. It was during the stormterror's tear quest.
Also i recommend using a Dendro bow user (Tighnari and others) with Amber and switch between them, it makes the fire damage take more continuously similarly to electro (i forgot what its specifically called but yes) ^^
My cousin was stuck was stuck on this quest for like a week and she asked me for help. I thought it was gonna be super easy but i was wrong. Luckily she had tons of food so i managed to do it first try after killing her diluc
I was stuck at this quets for weeks and it was driving me BANANAS. I always went in head first like for all fights only to get ass whooped. AMBER AND YOU ARE LIFESAVORS🤌
THANK YOUU SO MUCH!!! You know, I decided to wait for higher level then try this again after several loss, but then I tried and it works perfectly, although it left me only 2 last characters standing :D
if you want to finish the quest faster wait for it to rain use kaeya for his elemental skill (e) noelle for shield and burst for healing thoma for pyro and shield ig (optional) and make sure to dodge a lot 🥲 hope this helps
As for me, the rain made it worse because I keep get getting frozen myself lol. plus the ruin hunter is freakin annoying. So climbing the hill and attack with bow method really helped lol. After the ruin hunter was out of the way, the next stage was pretty easy.
This is the one that helped me the most, after killing the mages and the Hitchcurls just go there when all the characters have their elemental power full, wait until it will rain and just elemental smash...my characters were also kinda low but it workes

Thank you for this video! I was able to defeat it with a lvl 20 amber and lots of eating :'). Thankfully the abyss mage never teleported to me, but man this is a horrible quest.
the thing is when I tried this method the ruin hunter went behind the rock where you couldn't shoot it and if you got too close it just blasts u back :/.
oh no,,, im not really sure how does that go but usually i just repeat the strategy when something goes wrong. maybe you're on a wrong hill? you can check the other comments too if you are able to fight it head on ^^
How I did it was I took out the abyss mages in a corner, killed the hillichurls while avoiding the robot guy, then I killed the robot guy with my strongest characters & Barbara as a healer and sacrifice. Oh, and after I killed each one I went to the nearest statue of the seven to heal my characters and just repeated the process
@@Meowcake020‘ve just made it through with this T.T stuck sooooo long did you level up the weapons n artifacts？ my amber is Lv 40 with ATK 438, used 4 artifacts tht increase atk/pyro damage/ crit damage. All are 3 star only though, only enhaced to +4 Weapon Lv 40 with crit bonus n atk of 184 My world level is level 3 so the mages are around LV 42/47, went into a killin frenzy didn‘t pay attention to their levels… N now i need another tut to get through the next phase of ruin guards
TYSM I STOPPED PLAYING GENSHIN FOR 1 WEEK CAUSE IF THIS QUEST TYSMMM THIS WORKED BUT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT MY MOBILE WENT OUT OF BATTERY BUT IT WORKED TYY
I DID IT, i use noelle, ningguang, barbara, and amber. i only used amber to lure out the abyss mage so i can kill them one by one. after that i jumped to battlefield and killed the hilichurls (make sure to avoid the attacks of the ruin hunter). after all the minions are gone, i used noelle to attack the ruin hunter while it's close to the ground, and i heal with barbara and food. when it's not close and using shooting us, i use ningguang and shoot it whenever the chance come, while also running away (don't dash before he shoots you). then attack again with noelle when he comes down. repeat it until his HP is zero and voila!
by the way, my ningguang is level 60, noelle 40, barbara 50, and amber 40. amber and barbara doesn't need to be high leveled since their not used other than for luring out the abyss mage. ningguang also doesn't need high level, since the main will be noelle. as long as noelle is 40 i think you're good. i'm AR 33 btw, with artifacts that i slapped on randomly and talents that i upgraded also randomly.
my amber is bad because i didnt build her. i tried yours but i cant. however, i completed this quest by killing the abyss mages first using pyro (xinyan). I almost dead after killing them, so I teleport to statue of seven to restore my hp. The time I came back, there are only ruin hunter and hilichurls. (no abyss mage) so I uses my hydro and cryo (barbara, kaeya, chongyun) to freeze the ruin hunter so it will not attack me with those flying explosion. and doneee. I kill the hilichurls for the last. i didnt use any food buff and im bad at building my chara, still dont know how to use suitable artifact
@@MllrSr not in my case, did u actually kill abyss mage first (until their hp is 0)? If u teleport to statue without kill them, their remaining hp will become full.
Yep I did and this time I loaded my Amber with the best of my artifacts , made her crit rate go way up and did it fast . With Noelle’s shield too that is
