Finding the correct password for Domino in Final Fantasy 7 rewards the amazing Elemental Materia (if guessed correctly first time). Now, the standard means of solving the puzzle isn't too tricky but it IS very possible to screw up (I have failed at this myself previously lol).
However, with the cheesy method I will show you today you will NEVER fail to guess the password and win that beautiful Materia! I'm practically giving you the correct answer here!

I actually completed this without help, i just looked this up to rant, so happy to see you can’t just look up the answer and it’s different and me wanting to experience the game normally was somewhat validated was 99% certain on how to get the password as soon as I got the match the books to the correct room hint, I just couldn’t figure out how to correlate each book, I literally even thought of counting each entry number for each letter of the alphabet, felt so dumb when I realized you just did the same process but with the letters in the book

i did the save method but went through the answers till i had the right answer then reloaded and gave the right answer. the second way you showed is definitely faster but requires memory which i don't have anymore. so all i've done was is the save method except i just saved got the right answer reloaded the game and gave the right answer. the second way seems faster

All books have a number before the title; together, the number and title give a single-letter clue. Given the example of a misplaced book called "5 Midgar City Map", the clue it would give would be "A", A being the 5th letter in the title.

@@TheHellzReject I think the number represents what position the first letter of the book appears in the password. This book is actually in the correct room. It seems the position of this book guarantees the position of the other books. The hints are books that are in the incorrect rooms. "1 Biological characteristics...." found in the Urban library. Not sure this is the right book but "4 The Jenova Project" found in the scientific research library. S is "3 Special peace keeping law" found in the space library. The E book should be in the peace preservation/weapon development room, but all I found was "7 economic report". The other books labeled between "1-4" clearly belong as they say "weaponry/weapon" on them. I don't know if it's a translation mistake, numbering mistake, if you're just supposed to go off of 3 hints, or if i just got lucky and this isn't the method. Either way I'm out 1500 Gil asking the guy that gives hints, but I got the elemental materia Edit: It looks like I just got lucky. The number dictates the position of letter to be used from the hint book's name. These were the books "3 special peace keeping law" Space room. "5 Reactor construction chart" peace/Weapon room. "1 Biological characteristics" urban room. "7 Diminishing Mako Energy and Planet movement" science room. Giving us E,T,B,S. BEST.

Omg, i am currently playing through this game for the first time and i had a feeling the books were important but i wasn't sure what and obviously cause it is my first time playing i didn't know the password could change so i just guessed MAKO and my reasoning was welp this word has been aaid a lot so far maybe this is the password and it turns out it was and i got the elemental materia and was completely shocked i guessed right

that book in my game is "1.shinra space program: final budget report" none of the 4 you showed i even googled it and everything says the same stuff i can't find my book anywhere i checked every shelf in that room and none of the books listed are there. was this changed on the steam version?

Looks Like That Trick I Talked About WORKS! Fuzz There Is Also The Farming For 5 Carbon Bangles And 1 Hardedge On Floors 67 And 68 Before You Even Explore Those Floors! You Can Randomly Encounter The Enemies Between The Door And Escalaters Rather Quickly, I Managed To! And Also The "Loco Weed" Item Drops From Enemies On Floor 65! I Mentioned A Video On That!

There IS ALSO A STEAL RNG TRICK To TRY: Have EVERYONE But Your ONE With "Steal" On Keep Picking "Defend" While The ONE Keeps Picking "Steal"! It WORKS In FF9 So It MUST Also Work In This One! @@richardbasso22 The Enemies Your Looking For Are "Moth Slasher" And "Soldier: 3rd". You Can Steal "Carbon Bangles" Off "Moth Slashers" And "Hardedges" Off "Soldier: 3rds". They Also Make Nice Enemies To Fill Limit Gauges For Your 2nd Tiers Of Limit Breaks If You Learned Any 1st Tiers Of Level 2 Or Level 3 Limit Breaks For Any Of Your First 5 Party Members In Shinra HQ. These Enemies Are Found On Both Floor 67 And Floor 68 I Just Always Farmed Them On Floor 67 For The Steals And When Red XIII Joined I Learned His Lunatic High Limit Break Right Away On Floor 68.

Yes, there are 3 places where you can get elemental materia. The earliest is with Mayor Domino by getting the correct password 1st try, 2nd is in Mt Nibel where the mako fountain is, 3rd is by having Tifa check the piano in her room when she is party leader (need to have jammed on the piano as Cloud the 1st time you went there or it won't work).

It only takes one time asking about the password. Just keep asking and when you know what the password. Load 1 time and pick the password. Bam solved. You dont have to keep reloading over and over till find the password.

It adds materia stats to your weapon or armour. For example if you link EM-Fire on your weapon, it adds fire damage to your attack. If you link it to you armour if protects you against fire attacks. Very handy for tough opponents.
