Willie, Sarah and their pup, Jack Spaniels continue their biggest adventure yet - leaving their suburban life and moving over the sea to 'Live The Skye Life'!
Watch the ups and downs as we make the move to this magical island, off the West Coast of the Scottish Highlands. We thought finding and successfully buying a house would be the difficult part, but we didn't expect such difficulty when it came to selling our current house in Fife...did we pick the worst time to move house?!

My father was from Aberdeen but his job took him to South America (Peru) where I was born. Every vacation we would go back to the UK and the first place we’d go to was Scotland, stopping at the “Scotland” sign for him to stop the car in order to fill his lungs with obviously the better air over the border. He taught me so much about his beloved home and the people. It wasn’t hard to fall in love with both. Now, at 70 I still return whenever I can even though I live in Florida. Our house even has a Scottish name which the postman still can’t pronounce! Good luck to you both and enjoy a wee dram of the gift the sellers left you. Slange Var! 🎈👏👏 xxx

Slainte Mhath - seeing as they're living in Skye you'd better get the Gaelic spelling correct! ;) No 'v' in Gaelic alphabet - 'mh' or 'bh' is pronounced 'v'.

@@livingtheskyelife I'm old hand have many health issues so I'm not so sure NHS or the UK would want me. Though I won't be taking someone's job and I would be spending money in the economy. I would love it. I only was able to go to the southern tip of Skye, probably near where you live, and it was stunning.

I live in Poland, visited California in 2018 and Skye this year, both stunning. But if I would have to choose, Skye it is! Except for the food, that really sucks in Highlands and Skye, didn't find a decent restaurant for ten straight days and in terms of food in Scotland I lost hope.

@@kategoya7230 Sorry to hear you couldn't match the quality of the food with the quality of the landscape. There's a great video by One Armed Chef about food in the more remote parts of Scotland and it gives a very different view, so maybe it's more a case of you need to know where beforehand, would definitely recommend it to watch. It's a great series in general and Giles is a truly delightful person

Take good care of your dog. They are a special gift to us as humans, I lost my yellow lab 10 years ago and from time to time I still grieve. When you sang happy birthday to him it put a big smile on my face, thank you. Wow what an amazing cottage!

I think Vettriano's paintings are so full of atmosphere and beauty, unlike other artists today. For years most so called art experts have put his work down, ha have they made fools of themselves, because his works are far more appreciated by the public at large. I like the wood inside the cottage, it gives a nice natural feel. Remember once you paint over the wood, you will have to repaint it forever, or as long as you live there. The architrave around the windows and doors looks wonderful, don't hide it.

It's such a lovely place. I love the natural honey-colored wooden paneling. Happy Birthday 🎂🎁🎉 to Jack Spaniels! He's such an adorable, handsome and hilarious pupper. He puts a smile on my face every time I see him. How you managed to keep him out of the water at Strath Mashie (?hope I spelled that right?) is a miracle considering how much he loves to get wet! I loved seeing the wild horses on Skye. Here in my home state of North Carolina, on the Outer Banks, we have wild ponies that are ancestors of horses that survived the numerous shipwrecks caused by the shifting sandbars and tides off our coastline - nicknamed the Graveyard of the Atlantic. Sarah thank you for taking us on your adventure to the art show. I have never heard of this artist, but I am now totally enamored with his paintings. Many of my ancestor's arrived in America from the Isle of Sky and the Scottish Highlands. Being able to see where they came from is a real treat for me. You are showing areas like Sarah vlog I've never experienced despite us being there years ago. You have an incredible skill set for music. Art will thrive there and more work sold being there expanding your viewers. It appears, 2023 will be a good year for you. You might even pay the Byers up fit from your channel in time. Algorithm for Skye is massive and certain everyone agrees Jack deserves this life. Hope you stay warm and have a wood burner to compensate. Don't worry about not having things to do up here: you'll soon have about 100 'Projects' on the go! Building a nice wood store, improving drainage, building sheds, landscaping, house improvements, you'll probably buy a boat and spend hours doing it up. Welcome to my life!

I cannot understand why you are so blown away. I love Scotland I was in faslane in the RN. Also spent a lot of time on sky and the Kyle of lochalsh. Scottish history is my thing.. my granny new a lot and took me to see the battle sites and castles when I was a kid. We are from Yorkshire so no Scotts blood. Granny was Welsh. You are both very talented people and very normal. I can relate to your honesty about life.. i Wish u both all the luck in the world following your dreams. And will continue to watch your progress..and the ads so I can help a little towards your future. Be proud of yourselves not many artists can actually make a living from just being an artist. You are having a good bash at it. Myself and hubby are renovating an old farmhouse in the volcanic Eifel in germany. It takes time and a lot of money which we don't have. What we do have is love and peace.. we have each other. And 4 horse's...our dream. We visited Mull and Skye in the last 12 months and loved both islands but for us it is simply holidays at the moment. Your joy at the door of your new house/adventure was evident. Everyone wants to do what you are doing. When I was 11, my family made a similar move from the San Francisco Bay Area to a beautiful property out in the boonies of Oregon. This really evokes a lot for me and it’s absolutely a delight. I look forward to to every video. By the way, we had the sweetest spring water out there but the house had to be completely rebuilt by my dad, who wondered who held the roof up while they built the house under it. Now I live in a house close into downtown Portland, you can take the girl out of the city…. But, we have a large lot with huge trees so it’s a bit of both worlds. Wishing you three the best!

27min for tiny house. Nice to see you accepted a reasonable offer on the house. Really difficult, especially for first time buyers, when you can only get a mortgage for the home report value (no higher) and not everyone have tens of thousands £ for deposit AND going over the home report. Don't think the shot of the Skye bridge captured how scary that is it go over! So nice to see a Scottish based channel like this! Not sure there's many folk would consider a 2 bedroom cottage a tiny house, but it's absolutely beautiful, what s great location and brilliant views! My dream is to move to the Highlands one day if I can make enough money 🤣

I have just discovered your channel and am loving it as I am from Sydney Australia and am planning a holiday which includes 10 days in Scotland and time on Isle of Skye so excited for when you both start exploring the area so I get some ideas on where to visit. I love your cottage so much and I think Jack will love all the space to run wild. I love Jack by the way and love how he moves his head around when you speak to him.
