Thanks for sharing Steve. Saw most of the alterations and extensions taking place and furniture being lifted up into a room so good to see inside. We have been in the foyer and cafe though.

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL 🏩 🌊 😲. Can't believe how much bigger it is now! 😲. Seasonally adjusted and considering the amenities, the rates are very reasonable as well🤔. Good value for money 💵. This vlog reminded me of when my late Dad 😍 worked @ Dolmen, he was the "inaugural" Assistant Chef there. FYI : "Dolmen" is a single - chamber megalithic tomb. Hello from the Greenhalgh family from Bolton we stayed in the Dolmen many times absolutely loved the hotel and the old animation team that used to be there they were fantastic with all our family especially the pool party's in the summer i think we preferred the hotel just before the renovation and definitely preferred the old temple bar compered to the new hotel bar the old bar had a lovely atmosphere.

I knew it well Steve , it was the first choice ( years back ) of where to stay , but after reading several reports on various travel sites condemning it I went down the `rented apartment route` . Apparently they were having troubles with the builders , but from watching your video it looks like they`ve sure gotten on top of all that malarkey , it looks very nice indeed . I had no idea that it was named `The Dolmen` because there was an actual dolmen on site , very interesting Steve , thanks for that bit of info` .

I have only passed by that hotel and was very curious to know what it looks like inside. It’s in a great location, near the bingo hall and the main bus station also many bar’s, shops and a supermarket ( called trolees ) across the road from it. Oh gosh so near the elvis bar too. This hotel has definitely got a thumbs up 👍 from me. A big thanks to you Steve and all who made it possible for you to show us around it. Videos are the way forward to advertise hotels rather than just pictures for sure. Xxx

@@EnglishmaninMalta I had a one bedroom apartment overlooking the pools and to the right St. Paul's island. Jaccuzi bath in the bedroom. It was so big the daughter, son In law and 3 grandkids came out to us for a week. Outside we had a balcony with sunbeds and a table and chairs. We once had 14 guests outside while our son was playing guitar and singing to us.

In the late seventies early eighties before the hotel was extended, I remember that the dolmen was in the middle of a swimming pool ! It was a time when there was little respect for ancient monuments.

@@EnglishmaninMalta oh I think it is. That and the San Antonio Spa. Better value hotels in the area in my opinion. The Soreda Hotel has a far better roof top area. The Santana ticks all the boxes the Dolman does but is much cheaper. The Sea Shells resort too is better.

Stayed there in April 2022 - Nice Hotel - Good Food - Weather was not good. Both caught covid even though you wear masks everywhere.

Yes good information on the Dolmen but you inadvertently exposed two down sides. Which are no ceiling fans in the rooms. At the pool side very few sun loungers and no Umbrellas offering shade especially during the hot months. So we won’t be saying at the Dolmen. We have stayed previously at the db San Antonio & sister hotel db Seabank both excellent for all inclusive.

Having stayed at the Dolmen,It is an excellent hotel and there was lots of sunbeds and umbrellas,fans you do not need air conditioning was excellent.It was taken out of season.👍There are no downsides.

Note - Just get an inward facing room double bed with a sofa bed. If you book the suit with the tour operator its nearly another £1000 for a week on top. If you upgrade whilst you are there it cost just £210 pounds, we did the day we arrived.

Think the camera doesn't do it justice. It's actually quite small the pool area etc. Certainly not big enough for the amount of rooms on offer. Yes there are some nice rooms. But they are massively expensive for an area that is Qawra. I've seen some pretty grotty rooms to especially those along the side of the annexe. Yes it's good. But really expensive. Caveat Emptor.
