LOOK What we FOUND in our BATHROOM Wall 

Any time you do remodeling to an old home, you can never fully think what you are going to do until the demolition is finished. And that is because you just don't know what someone else did behind walls until you open them up and see. Old homes are full of surprises. But usually you can work through such surprise with a little ingenuity... May be a little change of plans, but the end result will be solid when you do it right...

They left the arch because it is helping support the beam above

Marvellous door entrance. You could put the toilet in a little room apart of the bath and shower.

I really hope you install a large wall to wall bath with shower, this will be perfect instead of just a shower, washing a (possible future) baby in a shower will be a hassle.

This is a beautiful original element from the house as it was built once. It gives a nice and authentic feeling. Please have respect and do not destroy it, but rather rethink the location or layout of the bathroom. It is an old house; please do not destroy its beauty.

Poor Desi😥More extreme and unnecessary demolition. I am so sorry that your kitchen AND bathroom has been turned into a mess. There was no practical reason for destroying your coffee bar wall that was very nicely done. The only demolition that had to take place was the one strip of sideways brick that was exposed when the chimney came down. The repair was shuttering the opening and filling it with cement. You would have been able to plaster and paint the bathroom wall. You're shower was perfect and you could have started on your bathtub. You still have no ceiling and Fall begins today. Now what? SO much inconvenience for you. What a shame. I am so sorry. 😢

There has been a wood-burning oven in what is now your bathroom, the previous owner tore out the oven for some reason and replaced it with the poorly built stove you had in the bathroom

I was getting nervous. It looked like a very difficult job. But then I remembered all the skillful work you have already done. Then all of my fear melted away.

You could put an ornamental window in this arch between the living room and the bathroom, like a decorated stained glass window. It would look beautiful.

Talk about opening a can of worms 🐛 !! 😳. Well, you have to tear down before you can fix and rebuild !! Once it’s all done, i know it will be beautiful ❤❤❤

That bar with the Arch was cute, and I remember when you guys put it all together ,😢so sad you guys got rid of it! But I sure everything will come together nicely when done! Are you thinking of redoing all the walls in the bathroom as they are probably just as badly done originally?

I know how disappointing it is to discover a proper mess when you thought it would be a simpler project. But you are working on it to last for decades to come. Plus, since you also identified the quality of work was below your standard, you will KNOW that it is exactly how you want it to be as structure and in the final form. Good luck.

I beat Peter at being first😊It looks pretty grim right now but I have no doubt you’ll knock it out of the park in time for the cold. Small suggestion, if you’re redoing the tile work, use a waterproofing membrane this time (the thick paint type you buy in a bucket), they clearly didn’t, it will help with the moisture not getting in the walls anymore. I’m not sure if this is helpful but on the wood ceiling in our bathroom I used stain and varnish for yachts, also moisture resistent, a bit expensive but it’s a small bathroom so it might worth the expense for you too.

This won't make you feel any better but... I am in the same situation you are. I had to have my tub removed and a shower put in. Removing the tub was not so hard. But the space is an unusual size, so the pan (floor) and surround had to be special ordered and it took a week to get here. It arrived broken, so it was returned and reordered... another week. Trying to put it in an error was made and 1 wall of the surround was ruined. So... another surround is ordered and we are waiting another week for the new surround. I sure hope I get to take a shower late next week.... lol

Though of course I understand the need, I think it is a bit unfortunate that you don't finish the projects you have started before going on for the next. At least to such level that it is weather proof. But either way, I like your videos anyway ❤
