Spewp Awww, poor baby. Jealous because the man has made something of himself, and you're still latched on to your Mommy's b00by while living in her basement? Keyboard troll, starved for attention.
Oh my goodness yes, another huge reconstruction project, it just keeps coming, strangely enough I still haven't kept up with the last two, 😊😊😊.priceless. 😊😊.
Chris I can see many hours for you in clearing a lot of that property just what you love. If Geoff gets this property your Volvo 350 will see a lot of ground clearing. The pond looks to need a lot of clearing around it to make it larger. It will definitely be interesting to see the two of you working together on this property if purchased. Best of luck on the coming projects.
Lookin' forward to the lake dam repair. That looks really interesting. That was a whole lot of woods slogging and I get the hesitation of basically buying swampland for development. Good luck, you two. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
Looking forward to the dam repair and hoping you get the parcel within the washed out dam too. It’s gotta be priced right I know and you said something about getting county approval for a driveway (or road) across the dam to feed the properties on the far end. Otherwise it is a non-starter as a project.
Excursion with Mr. Bealy to a Land with Lake what is to repair. Very good Drohne Picture from a Areal what the Ambitious to Correspond. A new Challenge for You. Good Video.. Thanks
Geoff does quite like giving you challenges Chris. farm house demolition offsets Chris's favorite - acres and acres of seemingly never ending clearing. that crusty clapped out tractor has DieselCreek all over it. weeds, trees overtaking it, mostly rust right in Matt's wheelhouse.
I could tell from the drone video that the loggers left their typical mess. I had some contact me last fall wanting to cross my land to get to their cut area. My answer was, when hell freezes over.
watching the video on my big screen. Got on my computer to comment. THANKS for the fly over video with no added music. I'm sure there wasn't any music playing as you both were out there. And I like to hear what you hear. Not added music. Thanks again.
Another great video of what you guys are doing! After tearing down the old structures and houses, do you ever go over the footprint after you have cleared the debris checking for valuables? The house pictured at 4:15 into this video looks as though it's got potential for old wooden planks, valuables, etc. Looks like the old house on one of the tobacco farms we use to farm in Person County NC.
That had to be a nice working farm after World War 2. Bet there is a family that has memories there. Chris knows how to walk the woods -- with a walking stick. The Pond Master knows how to rebuild dams.
As a Northwest guy living with evergreens - when it rains the needles on the trees makes the water slightly acidic - pretty much killing everything under the limbs. Think turpentine. Kills stuff! Interesting prospect/possibility.
I've found the "sterilization" to be more of a shade issue. Thin the trees and burn off the straw so light reaches the ground and watch green things explode. And it isn't only pine trees that will "sterilize" the understory. Dense timber of any variety that shades the ground will do the exact same thing. Yaupon and privet thickets will also. I've been working on 16 acres for 3 years that had all of the above. The areas where I thinned the oaks and removed all yaupon and privet now have to be brush hogged a couple of times each summer. There is a grove of pines that have mostly been untouched and is still just pine straw under that dense interior. The straw has been burned off four times since I purchased the property and began clearing. Sunlight only hits the ground around the edges of that grove, and it is all green where light hits the ground.
I don’t know how much he plans to clear but it looks like it’s going to be a big job for you. Personally I like a lot with lots of hardwood trees if I was planning to buy property to build a new house.
Ever consider asking Volvo if they will let you demo a spider excavator? I dont think you would have any use for it, but they are friggen cool looking. Make for some awsum thumbnails and videos. You could do a collaboration with other big RU-vidrs in excavation and let them play with it.
Do your wives know that you guys are planning on spending money again 😂😂. It is always enjoyable to watch the Chris and Geoff program. You never know what they are up to and what kinda messes they will find. The pond damn repair looks like a great little project for the 350 and barney.
25:00 its somewhat rare to see huge cleet dozer trackpads on a excavator - i pretty exclusively see that on logging excavators that need to hug steep slopes
I can small the up-coming clearing and smoke from your acres of burning brush from up here in Toronto - Canada is having huge forest fires out west, but I know yours will be well under control!
The things done in the search for good development projects - with a couple of mates who make it so entertaining. Big pond dam repair will be a goodie - nice clay too.
Hey Chris, Let Me tell ya Man, Me and my Wife spend a lot of time in the woods too, and used to get eat up !! Like you, an Geoff !! a lot of people call them " chiggers" some may be ! But, for the most part the are "Seed Tics" they call them !! What they are , are baby tics that have just hatched, and they will eat your ass up !! lololol... Believe Me Man I know !! lolol... But, We tried everything to stop getting eat up every time we go into the woods, weeds, what have ya. But, believe it or not , if you go to whatever place ya got near you, Rural King, Tractor Supply, Wal Mart, ect. Get you some "Terro" Ant killer in the spray can, it's in an Orange can with a Black Ant on the Front of it. I'm telling you , you spray that on your boots pant legs, NOT ON YOUR SKIN but, anywhere else , and I promise ya, you will NOT get anymore of those damn things on ya !! Telling ya Man, it will amaze ya !! Spray yourself good !! Boots, pant legs real good and you are good !! Just give it a try and let me know one day, down the line !! But, Video was Great as Always Man, Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Chigger bites, haven't heard that term used in a long time. I'm an old fart and a city boy. We had polite chiggers, they only nibbled and not bite. Still itched like crazy.
Abandoned properties make me extremely sad. Some family likely lived in that farmhouse. Dad worked the crops while mom kept the home in order and the kids went to school. It seems almost a crime, a sin for all that to just....be forgotten. Swept away by Time, as if it never happened. Memories. Achievements. Celebrations. Lifetimes together. It's wrong that it's all forgotten. It's wrong.
I'm not certain about this, but it would appear that Geoff has way too much free time on his hands. I hope you can find a hobby for Geoff to keep him occupied.
I live in the Piedmont of North Carolina and it’s sickening all the raw land that’s being developed. I understand there is need for expansion but I wish these people would go somewhere else for a bit.
