Oh Laura! I’ve spent the last two days by my Poppy’s bedside, sitting with him as he departs this world. I returned to the hotel room for some rest after being at the hospital all day, and was so comforted to see the notification of a new Garden Answer video. Thank you for being an ever-present ray of sunshine and stability in a world with struggles, grief and loss. I really appreciate everything you do and for your peaceful, calming and grounding spirit, especially tonight. God bless, Emily x
I always look forward to your videos every morning but this morning was especially special! I got off work from a 12hr shift and I clicked on RU-vid to watch my favorite gardener and instantly saw my photo I submitted in the bottom left corner and my face brightened with a smile! I suddenly forgot how tired I was and so happy to see the video. Laura you truly inspire so many of us and I wouldn’t have gotten as far without your channel. My neighbor routinely tells me ‘my dirt must be different’ from hers but I know the secret is watching and learning from your channel and I’m very grateful!
I feel this so much! I work in healthcare where I'm on my feet 12-14 hours. But then come home to my wonderful plants and suddenly have a burst of energy to care for them or simply sit and enjoy. My garden would never have gotten this beautiful with out all the knowledge and inspiration I've gotten from Laura. ❤️
OMG I can't believe you showed my container!! Kris in Indiana with pink caladium and impatients. I will always refer to this combo as "The Samantha Grace" mix from now on!! Found your channel a few years ago and you revived my love of gardening! Thank you, thank you, Laura!! It is my passion now!
Laura inspired the second woman's submission with her moon garden theme, using a railing basket. Then the woman's submission, in turn, inspired Laura. Amazing!
Y'all have created something amazing with your channel! By simply watching your videos, we all came together and felt a sense of connection. But these videos of fellow gardeners greenhouses, containers, before/afters, etc really give, not only a sense of community, but it's like we're meeting friends across the globe! Thanks for what y'all do!
Sarah from Cleveland here! I took so many screenshots of all these awesome containers submitted! So many ideas I want to copy. I have been complemented many times by neighbors walking/driving by, they say that my garden is so beautiful and brings them joy to watch it grow over the season. Once a lady drove up my driveway just to say hi and she loved my garden and window boxes. :) It is so fun to bring beauty and joy to people that I don’t even know!
Thank you so much for mentioning that you took screenshots! I had never thought of that, and what a faster way to look back, instead of trying to find them within the video again. Great idea.
Laura, thank you so much for featuring the caladium planter I submitted. The outpouring from the Garden Answer community to my channel has been so supportive. I have always tried to promote and share Garden Answer in our area. You provide so much in learning, quality family viewing and just something positive to look forward to everyday. I am and always will be inspired by the hard work you, Aaron and your family put into this venture. Antique and Garden Showcase will be putting out new content (hopefully on a weekly basis soon), but I also work a regular job. I would have commented earlier, but we are preparing for our worst garden enemy, an ice storm, here in our local area tonight. Again, thank you Laura, and thank you Garden Answer community. You all are always welcome at Antique & Garden Showcase. 😊❤️🌸🌹🌷
What a great idea, Laura, allowing so many of us to showcase our masterpieces. It’s so wonderful to have such beauty that often only the grower gets to enjoy, and now to share with the world is so gratifying. Thank you from the growers and the recipients for all this inspiration!
These have turned out to be such a fun & inspiring addition to your channel. Especially on gloomy winter season days. Helps to ward off the "seasonal depression" (which really can be a mental health Concern for many).
Watching this video had me thinking “Ooooh, I want to do that!” with EVERY container. Bravo to my fellow gardeners! Beautiful! Thank you, Laura for adding this to your channel. I can’t wait for my first trip to the garden center! 🪴🌻🌼🌸🌺
Love how you have added this type of conversation to your format - well done! Don’t forget doing what you all do so well, but this is refreshing as well to see others’ gardens (especially the before and after pics) and to hear your comments. You guys are just the best! Enjoy it all - the gardening, the comments, Q&A, antiquing with Mom, scattered shots of babes, small home improvement - just perfect! Never miss - now you have me chopping on the bit for Spring and my gardens! Thank you for quality content.
I am so enjoying this series of videos! I really, really hope it becomes an annual thing! In the cold, long winter this has been such a ray of sunshine! Thanks for organizing this! I’m sure we all need it this late in the season. It’s giving me spring fever! Have a great day everyone!!
All the containers showcased were gorgeous! Your inspiration and direction to 'pack planters full' has not fallen on deaf ears! Makes me so excited for spring and dirty knee season!
I don’t think there could be a more grateful and appreciative audience then yours to see all the wonderful submissions from your viewers. We are inspired and filled with joy from their success too!
Laura the kid in the candy store 😅 I’m right there with you ! Your so refreshingly genuine! This was such a treat ! We are having snow, wind and 12 degrees right now .
Thanks so much for taking the time too celebrate all of us out here following in your footsteps! I just wanted to say I think we all are lucky to have you to look to for inspiration. But even more so when you take time out of your busy busy schedule to honor all of hard work as well.
I am truly loving these types of videos! The concept of you sharing the garden spaces of those you inspire is amazing! I am in Minnesota 4B and waking up to -18° this morning🥶.... but seeing these beautiful inspirations remind me spring is not far off! Thank you for always being so awesome 💛
Those containers are Amazing!! Congratulations to all who sent pictures!! Loved all of them, they have inspired me! The possible ideas are flooding into my container planning! 😍🙌❤💚❤💚
I am so excited to see you plant up the metal wire dress form your Mom bought on your last shopping trip. Can you please do a send-in video on planting in non-standard containers? My favourite was the Halloween rats. So creative and inspiring.
I love containers for my flowers. Each end of summer Walmart clearance I buy containers for about 70-90% off❗️I am green with envy❗️All these pics are great
I absolutely love this series! I've said this before, but I'll say it again- I downsized 2 years ago & now live in a top floor apartment in the city, so I will never have a garden again, but I still absolutely LOVE your channel & watch religiously! I have LOTS of houseplants & enjoy the gardening community! Thank you for your amazing content! xo from the other side of the state in Portland, OR:)
Oh my stars!! Great job Garden Answer fam!! I am an avid container gardener and love all this inspiration. I’m enjoying these slower winter days, taking time just to dream of gardens to come.
Oh my, these containers are magnificent, every single one. Thank you for the ideas. I have two large and several medium sized pots to fill this season and now I am inspired.
Oh, now Laura and Aaron you are outdoing yourselves on the 2-Part Container Videos. I cannot express the inspiration and the joy that these videos has brought me. I have screenshot pictures of many and took notes for the planters, perennial and annual flowers, pots, obelisks, fertilizers, etc as to what I am going to purchase. All of these ideas will sure to enhance the beauty of our home and gardens. I cannot thank you both enough for your sharing of your knowledge and inspiring ideas on when and what to plant for different zones. I love gardening both flowers and plants. But you have brought my gardening skills and ideas to a whole new level. However, after finding your channel, I cannot tell you that I watch each one and cannot wait for the next ones. I love seeing your beautiful children. They are both true blessings from God. I give God the glory for all that He provides for me each day. Your family is one of those blessings. God bless you all and have a blessed and healthy year.
Yay! More beautiful inspiration on this cold -7 morning. I learn so much from every video you share. And sharing the diameter of the pots really help me visualize what I can fit into my pots. Thank you for all that you do.
I loved this video! Quite inspiring! I believe that hibiscus is called ‘Fiesta.’ I bought one for my son and his fiancé last May! Thank you for theses creative ideas from fellow gardeners!🪴🌷🌸
We're getting our second snowstorm in northwestern PA so a little color is just what I needed. I love the pot with the plant growing up the side of the house. My front pots are beside my steps so I'm thinking about doing something like that and letting it grow up the railing to the porch 🌺 Now I'm going to watch your video of the grand garden show on Mackinac island in 2016. For some reason it just puts me in a summer mood
wow! so many plant artists out there... look at those combinations! the color choices, the textures, the pots.. wow... anyone else taking notes? so much inspiration... just gorgeous!! great job, everyone!! 🙂 ❤ thanks for the video!! 🙂 ❤
Oh is this a brilliant segment! I did see part one, and Im so glad you set up to do a part too, so we could get wven more great ideas from our gardening kin. Laura I'm getting older now, and at almost 61, I have fond the container gardening to be so easy and rewarding; and with so many more options than I really ever imagined. So when you showed Laurel's mini paradise of abundant container gardens, in a video no less, my heart skipped a beat! Thank you so much Laura for keeping us inspired every single day. And Laurel, you have quite the green thumb Sweetheart!!!!
Wouldn’t it be a great calming experience to watch a compilation of all the submissions for these pots and the before and after collection and the side yard gardens. A good 30 or more minutes with just music, would be devine! ❤️
My heartfelt sympathy to you. This transitional time is beyond description in terms of loss, both for you & your precious Poppy. ❤ God be with you both...
Love the Sharing videos of everyone's artistic displays all over the world! Such a needed "uplift" during the Dark Winter. Thank you Laura, Aaron & family for sharing your Talents with this community! My coffee & GA videos encourage me to get going for the day & allows my mind to rest & focus off the negative & create right along with you! So appreciate you all. Blessings
I never thought about container gardening until I saw you do it! Now I offer it to clients and they really Love it. Everything from small space and just want some beauty, to large spaces that need some staunch focal attraction. You’re an inspiration Laura 🥰
I am watching your winter sowing and seed planting update again as I do each year in north Texas before I start my seedlings. I am a certified Master Gardener and I would recommend plastic window blinds cut to size for plant markers. You can write on them in pencil and it does not wash off or fade. I get 4 uses out of each 4-6 inch size plant marker by using both sides and both ends.
Laura, I LOVE these videos!!! Especially in Upstate NY as we prepare for snow! When people send in a pic can I ask that they tell you what time of the season they were taken. It is great info to have when you are thinking of the progression throughout the season. Thank you for the display of bright color as I await the snow!
Beautiful and inspiring planters! Laura, your enthusiasm is infectious. There are so many great ideas - I feel like I need to screenshot every one just to remember them! Kudos to everyone on such a fabulous job!
Part 2 was great! Enjoyed this so much. Thanks to the growers for sharing such beauty…inspirational. Perhaps you could do this seasonal submissions. How fun! 🌞
I work third shift at night and I watched this video on my lunch break. Laura, I love how excited you are with every participant. I have been inspired for my container's. I have one container with only herbs for cooking. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme ( I believe that has been put that to music) that is just enough for use in my cooking. Love this channel!
Love the show!! Love the Family Gatherings!!! Warm and fuzzy feelings flowing !!! You guys rock!!! Happy Valentine's Day Month!!! Let your love light shine!!!
These videos of viewers submissions have been some of my all time favorite! I hope you will do it again every year as I was unable to submit any photos…just moved to a new house and no “after “ photos yet, also forgot to take photos of my containers later in the summer this year, but won’t next year! Also so many different types of yards and gardens to see!!😁😁❤️❤️
Wow- there are so many beautiful planters in this video and one in particular that I want to try this year. I have a lot of shade in my garden so the hanging planter that Nicholas from Connecticut showed with chocolate drop coleus, sweet potato vine, and impatients is definitely something I will be planting this spring. Thanks!
As the ice and eventual snow hit my area right now, it is a great pleasure to take in all the gorgeous plants and flowers that feed my winter-worn soul. Thank You! Dreaming of plant pairings and gardens to come!
If I could like you 5k times I would. Your family, with its pets, causes me to recall why I lost myself in gardening during one of the most stressful times in my life. While I know you and your family are living the same lives as we all do it is your commitment to showcasing the best threads that have caused me to become a paying subscriber. Before I was just a homesick expatriate. Then I became a follower. You and your family have made my full circle. These intimate sharing videos have recalled back to me some of the best moments of my life's experiences: gardening. The place where we can go to create a better life not only for ourselves but for anyone who is awed by the moment of the daily grind. During my daily hum-drum life of driving from Plano, Texas to Dallas, my greatest pleasure was driving the neighborhood streets just to get to a minimum wage job in my tiny Honda CVC. I would still be stuck in traffic, like so many other drivers, but we were all there on the side streets only because of the gardens and plants the home dwellers had made for us voyeurs of daily treks of our to and return. I began to be in love with the idea that I could create my own little bit of peace: a garden! Within my own little apartment. I will say this: 50 years later I have found more peace in a potted garden than I ever have had in any other hobby. Gardening has taught me an expectation of glamour. Then it taught me how to research, earth science, and what have you. But it has taught me more of how to share care with the others we don't know. How to have patience. How to view perfection not as 'perfect' but as the adaption to belong. ... Yup! Your videos are inspirational.
So many beauties! So glad we got part two and didn't miss out on any of these! Really inspired by everyone, such a lovely way to start the day - so much color and beauty!!!
I really enjoyed seeing the different styles from different growing zones. Thank you for expanding the gardening community by showing the efforts of others, inspired by what you do on this channel.
@@ozarkview928 Hi Grace, You're so kind. I really appreciate it. I feel like I've gotten to know many of you through Garden Answer and sharing my 50 years of gardening experience through Peggy Helbling's Garden What You've Got. Waste not, want not🌿💚 Where do you call home 💓
@@peggyhelblingsgardenwhatyo7920 I live in central Mo. for 12 years , but grew up and lived most of my life in the beautiful Buffalo Valley of Pa . I didn’t realize you had a RU-vid channel as well , subscribed ✅
@@ozarkview928 Gee thanks 💚for subscribing 🌿 I was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Greensburg. You must be anxious for Spring. I do hope you enjoy my videos and I hope you'll stay in touch 💗
I've been struggling to get motivated and prepare for the growing season. But this makes me want to get my butt in gear and plant some seedlings! It's inspiring to see other people's creativity. Last year I was showing my husband my vegetable garden. I said: I know you don't like eggplant, but they're so pretty. He replied: It doesn't matter if I don't like something. I love that you care enough to grow healthy food for us to eat ... and beautiful flowers for us to enjoy. You've learned so much from "your youtube lady," as he calls you. And he's right. Thank you.
The winds are howling here in LA County, Calif. So the chance to view so many lovely designs just made my day. I have learned so much from you and I especially appreciate your joyful remarks when showcasing the work of other gardeners.
Thank you so much for this amazing video and to all the folks who were so kind to share their beautiful arrangements. I was really lacking inspiration when I watched this! Now I’m fired up and excited to go to the greenhouse and start putting pots together! Thank You, thank You, thank you!!
All of the submissions were breathtaking - 1st place has to be the 2nd one with WHITE Moon Gardening rail planter! That was superb !!!! The Samantha Grace planter is tied for 1st place. I will duplicate both!
How inspirational most of these plants are perennial in my zone 11 including petunias so this is good inspiration for in ground plantings for me . maybe the next viewer submissions compilation should be from gardens in zones 10 and above, I would love love to see that.
Im in the middle Florida Keys and i know what you mean. Im in zone 11b-hell, lol. But seriously certain plants are awesome outside here like hibiscus and orchids, and others, well, I get why they don't grow here, supertunias would end up wilting all day. Im very jealous of these containers. I would love a higher zoned ideas!
I am so glad I recently found your channel! I just bought my first home with my husband and the previous owners seriously selected the beautiful yard space. Can't wait to make it look amazing this spring!
I am new to gardening and plant life. Nervous but also excited to start the journey on my deck. I just wanted to let you know that I love your channel, energy, and passion for what you do. I am getting a lot of great ideas-- thank you!
