For a full listener experience wear headphones, you'll hear the birds chirping, stream flowing, footsteps crunching etc. Also play whilst you're working or cleaning. It may also help you drift off to sleep.😂 If you want to see all the images from the walk hop over to my substack here melaniechadwick.substack.com/p/looking-for-sunlight#details
Hi Mel, your sketch turned out great! Thank you for taking me on the walk! This audio podcast was fantastic. It was like a time capsule from those old days when (I was a kid) and loved "Radio Play" series for children with my after school snack and a glass of milk:) I guess I was hungry for imagination and when we listen without any visual support, we can imagine our own colours of the nature, feel wind on our cheeks, and much more. I suppose I like both video and audio chats of yours.
So glad it clicked with you! I used to love listening to plays on the radio, and hearing nature sounds. It does really engage your imagination and quite immersive like a good book. Although I am also thinking how I can incorporate video on these walks that is achievable without a huge amount of extra effort, possibly with an action cam attached to my chest or head!
Thats a great idea! I think when you inspired with the process of the art work, you don't want to fiddle with the camera equipment. Attaching the camera to the front straps of your nice backpack might work! One way or another I`m pretty sure you will find the solution!
So thrilled to find your channel! Such GORGEOUS work you make! We're traveling to Cornwall this summer, I cannot wait to sketch it now! Thank you for sharing!
I love your videos, this was pleasant but probably would have enjoyed it more if I’d been busy doing something at the same time. I’ll try that next time. Thankyou for sharing and liking your sketch x
Thanks June! and yes probably be nice to have this type of content on in the background whilst you get on with something else, but appreciate you watching.
I’m sorry to say I found this very boring as I wanted to see what you were describing. Only about 2 minutes at the end showed your sketch. Some day I’d like to see a full sketch Plein aire from beginning to end. Especially with you mark making and layering of various mediums you use. I absolutely love your mark making.
That's absolutely fine! It was intended to be something you listen to whilst you work or clean or get you off to sleep. I've always loved listening to radio documentaries and nature rambles, particularly with headphones it can feel quite immersive and I think about what they are describing in my mind. You might like this video if you want a process en plein air: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5LCCS1wsyVE.html Thanks!
Thank you Melanie. I’d hadn’t listened to podcasts before and now understand their purpose. Still rather see the actual walk but did visualize all you were describing. Also watched the 2 RU-vid’s you suggested. At the end of 2022 I purchased your 2023 calendar and 6 postcards of I believe your 2022 calendar paintings. Love your work and look forward to seeing more. That's absolutely fine, I think reactions have been a little like marmite- either you love it or you hate it! Maybe as people are used to seeing video content here without it people find it harder to connect to what I'm doing.
@@MelanieChadwick I hadn't seen the podcasts section! Perhaps you could put the word Podcast on the title of the video? ie "Explore and Draw Podcast". So poor old boys like me who aren't the quickest in the box any more realise.😂
