Looking for what remains of the old Charnwood Lodge House Coalville 

Just done some googling to see where it is and it turns out it's only just across the road the from where I went school and only a short walk from the quarry I now work at

Hi yes the old Manor house went in the 1960s the out buildings are still there.

Hi I've been to the lodge tonight how far from the lodge is the next building as I walked and walked couldn't see it

The steps went from the lawn into a huge horse paddock.

morning Simon thank you for that information I have been talking to someone who said a doctor lived there before it got demolished .he said he was a gardener .the locals didn't no about it being demolished untill they saw the Lorrie loads of bricks coming out such s shame .

@@mboman42 His name is Hugh Kindness, he worked in London. I believe the National Trust own it and I guess they didnt want the cost of renovation..

@@garner832 Hi Simon that's the guy yes apparently the house had fallen into disrepair but when it was it was demolished there was all sorts of treasures found a lot destroyed as the house was just left as it was for a while furnished ect. Do you remember the boating lake and what year did you leave. Thank you so much for your help as little is really known I have been told there is a old lady that lives in the row of cottages up the road who has a few pictures of. the house inside.
