looking forward to change after a lifetime of staying in my comfort zone
I just wanted to share an update and how I’ve been working on not only accepting, but at times, even embracing great change in my life and letting go what I cannot control to make more room for blooming where I’m planted. This is a crucial mentality, I’ve found, for entering parenthood, finding new friendships, leaving unfulfilling relationships, and making any big or small decisions when it comes to life in general. I lived in fear for a very long time, and to this day I am tempted sometimes to let it control me, but I do a bit better each day and my life has become more full than ever before.

The squeaking you hear at the start is my dog aggressively playing with his chew toy 😂 sorry about that! Haha, he’s such a goof. Thank you for being here! I hope this video brings you some moments of comfort and joy. I have re-opened my Etsy shop again for a small batch of orders ❤ thank you all and warm hugs

The fae will be thrilled with their lovely house!! 😍 Did you ever receive presents from the elementals? Things they leave in your house? (I have!) 😊 I'm sure they pick up on your energy when you're in the forest! ❤ Michael Singer has great content (books and podcast) on surrendering 😉😃 Enjoy your pregnancy Paola! Having a baby growing inside you is a miracle ❤

Dearest Paola, Its grand that you and your husband are expanding Ur family. The benefits of having children most likely outway the obstacles. We have been programed to value the comforts and material pleasures over what really make life worthwhile. Love, life, laughter, learning are a few of the treasures and rewards that raising children offer U. Much love to all Ur family. 😁💜🪄👛🌈 👨‍👩‍👦

I have two very small children 20 months apart (intense) and I have never once looked back on my life before kids with longing. This life with them is far and away better than my life ever was without them. My only regret is putting it off for as long as I did. Everything you "lose" is temporary. People tend to conflate the first few years of parenting (the intense years) with all of parenting. Eventually kids sleep, develop their own interests, want their own space, and you have time again for everything you did before kids. More often than not, you have buddies now who want to join you in your interests. It's so fun and I wish our society had a more positive attitude about family and children.

People are so quick to tell you “just you wait you’ll never sleep again, you’ll never have alone time” well as a mom I’m here to tell you….just you wait until you hear their cry for the first time, just you wait until those snuggles make you want to burst tears of joy. You know what tired is, I’m sure you have been tired before! What you don’t know, and you will soon know, is how beautiful and truly magical it is to be a momma. Just you wait, your gonna know a different kind of love you never knew existed, and it’s wonderful ❤️

I'm a dad with two sons who are now 24 and 28 years old. Looking back now I realize the very best days of my life were spent helping my wife raise these guys. The years just melted away and suddenly my boys were men and living on their own. My wife and I come home to a quiet house filled with the happiest memories imaginable yet it makes me sad. Someday I'll get around to fixing the dent in the front door my youngest put there when he hit a foul ball. Someday I'll throw away the goofy trophy sitting on my desk that my oldest son made for me when I won our family's fantasy football league. What I wouldn't give for them to be little again. I pray that you and your husband will embrace the coming years because you guys are in for an awesome ride.

I was 27 when I had my first child, and 30 when I had my second. My girls are 13 and my oldest will be 16 on Sunday. I never really thought about 'losing' anything when I had the girls. I didn't feel as if I missed out on anything. While parenthood can be difficult (I can't believed I survived through having a newborn and a toddler at the same time), I can honestly say, my most happiest moments in my life have been with my daughters. I am so excited for you and again, congratulations to both you and your husband, and we are wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy

Although becoming a mother will not always be easy in the years to come, it will be the most rewarding choice you've ever made! The love you will feel for your child and the love and joy they will fill you with will be profound. My son is in his late twenties now and although he is going through some tough times, my love for him continues to grow and I will always be there for him during the highs and lows of life. Sometimes parenthood can be difficult, but oh my goodness does the food outweigh the difficult. I learned with my first to always look for the silver lining. Each season has it's difficult parts whether it be lack of sleep, illness, them getting into everything (like cheerios over the whole house, herbs and spices spilled for the hundredth time, etc), but each season ALSO has its own silver lining. Sometimes it's their sweet smiles, their little coos, when they learn to give kisses and hugs, giggles, caresses, each unique in their own special way for that season. Breath those in as deeply as you can because you'll miss those silver linings in other seasons. I can already tell that you are a wonderful mother, Paola. What a blessed little baby you're growing in your womb. Love from California.

I will add my 2 cents. I did not want children initially but have 2 sons who are now 26 and 22. They have made me a better person, taught me more than I ever imagined possible, and filled my heart with so much love. There were challenges but no regrets. I don't like change either but the sense of purpose that my boys gave me made all of that adaptability required manageable. I wish you joy with your family.

My first comment here, but I’ve been watching for about a year. You are going to be a truly amazing mother. I thought I wouldn’t marry until 30 or later, thought I would travel the world…married at 19, babies at 21 and 23…26 now….so.much.joy. Being home with them, cooking, cleaning, baking, spending time outdoors, it’s a beautiful, beautiful dream. Every season has its trials, but it’s by those trials that we continue to grow into the best version of ourselves. Having family close by to pour into me, teach me, and pour into the lives of my children has been the biggest blessing. I know you are a reader..Charlotte mason’s volumes are full of so much wisdom in parenting, homeschooling, and life in general. I wish I had discovered them before I had children, some of her principles have changed my whole world. Maybe you can check them out this cozy winter💛

Dearest Paola, I am sending you a big hug. From one woman to another, I want to tell you how proud of you I am. How far you have come, how much stronger you are (even though you may not feel it at times) and how beautiful your world is because YOU CHOOSE to see it that way. Life is about the small things. They are so important because it means your in the present, your living for not just the future but for now. Your little fairy house is absolutely darling! The way you shot part of your video between those two trees framing you was beautiful. You see beauty in everything and that is such a precious gift, one in which your baby will learn from you...... how precious!! I cannot tell you how absolutely saddened my heart is to hear that those close to you are being anything other than joyful and excited about this next chapter of your life. Please believe me, as a mother of 3 incredibly precious children, that this little baby is such a blessing and will bring you joy like you have never known before. I don't quite know how to explain a heart that is filled with SUCH happiness and upmost, unconditional, bursting LOVE, but that's what is heading your way sweetheart. Your going to make the most AMAZING Mum. Let any negative words just bounce off you Paola as being a mum is the best experience you can have in life. I'm sending you so much love and chicken noodle soup for Luke. I hope he feels better really soon. Stay healthy, rested and above all, your gorgeous self. Xo

Dear Paola, another lovely video…..thank you for starting my Saturday with love and all things pure and good ❤ I have two beautiful daughters, who are now 29 and 27. Best thing I have ever done in my life…I think the thing that I would say is - the change from a couple, to having a baby, is definitely sometimes challenging . The sleepless nights were the biggest change for us. I wasn’t prepared for the constancy of a little one and the 24 hour demands, but somehow you just cope. The best advice I was given, was make sure you get out every single day, otherwise it can feel a bit like Groundhog Day. Sending love and all things positive your way. My girls are the greatest joy in my life. And the love you have for your children is unrivalled! Xoxo Francesca ❤❤

Hear me out. I lost a lot when I had my son. It has been devastating. I lost my career, I lost sleep and youth, I lost free will and many options. But I mean so much to my baby, and my baby means so much to me. Nobody loves me like my son does and I love no one like I love my son. I have so much love to give him that I was not given and so much to pass down in the legacy of my parents. There are so many things you can’t fully understand about the universe until you experience creating something with free will that you are responsible for. I needed to understand this part of life before I leave. My soul is older and wiser, more forgiving and softer towards others. I am closer to God because of this experience, and that is worth it.

It's normal to miss certain aspects of your life before having a baby. Being a parent can be draining, scary, and exhausting. It can be extremely difficult to learn how to balance your child's ever changing needs with you own needs. You can acknowledge those unpleasant feelings, and still love your kid more than anything.

I have two girls two years apart and I would never go back to before I was a mom. The love you find w your kids is a love that u can’t explain. You can still have your life just work around your tiny humans. When they get older they can do things you enjoy w you. It’s truly a gift.

I am glad you are getting what you wished for. Congratulations and all the best on impeding parenthood! I must say I was quite reassured in your last video that the focus of your channel is not going to change. So many of my favorite RU-vidrs started families and suddenly the who purpose of filming their lives and travels and adventures became solely about the new addition to the family. I understand that they are besotted with their child -- unlucky child indeed if they weren't -- but as far as their viewers were concerned, it was the equivalent of being invited over, only to be forced to watch home videos and look at albums of pictures and vacation snaps that have nothing to do with us or why we became friends in the first place. Updates are always welcome; being force fed family life by those who are not our actual family is less so. Thank you for realizing this and letting us know that we can still look forward to your usual lovely take on life in general, not parenthood in particular. Meanwhile, wishing you good health!

You'll gain so much by adding to your family. And as a grandmother and great grandmother, I can say that your parents will have a new joy in life too- a love beyond words. Your fairy house is adorable- I wish I could find some rose hips but we don't seem to have any wild rose bushes around my home. Take care sweet Paola. 💖

Dearest Paola. All that you do, all that you are, bring light and joy to the world. Thank you for that. As a new mom….never forget you are you, first, then a daughter, a wife and a mom. So it’s exactly like you said : it how you choose to see things that make life good. Motherhood is just like that! Enjoy your moment! Sending rubans of kindness and light to you and family. In kindness.

Was the no sleep hard? I can barely function when I have 5-6 hours sleep (frazzled, stressed, cry more, emotional, triggers migraine). The most scared I am is how parents are up all night but then have to commute in traffic that morning at 7am and work all day, how do you do it when you're so tired? I would literally crash my car. I'm scared but want children.

@@FlwrCats76 I was also worried about the lack of sleep, but you just get on with it for the sake of your baby. Accept help or ask for it. It's not easy, but the no sleep is short-term. I don't know where you are from, but I'm from the UK, so we get good maternity leave. Time to focus on your new baby, caring for them and yourself as you navigate parenthood.

@@FlwrCats76so two things, they do eventually sleep again even though it doesn’t seem like they ever ever will and with my second I didn’t find the nights as hard because I had proof that they’re not forever since my first sleeps a solid 12 every night. You kind of get used to being tired in general but that sleep deprivation feeling that makes you feel sick does go away!

I find myself in a land devoid of the enchanting embrace of autumn. Oh, how my heart aches for those cherished moments spent wandering through the woods! The soothing whispers of rustling leaves underfoot, the vibrant hues of nature's paintbrush illuminating the world around me... All of it, so dearly missed. Alas, here I am, yearning for the gentle caress of fall's arrival. My soul craves the solace that only nature's symphony can provide, as it dances upon my senses like a delicate cello melody, intertwining with the very essence of my being. Oh, how I long to once again immerse myself in the embrace of the woods, losing myself in the infinite beauty that exists within their ancient branches.

I often think about change in the way that trees change with the seasons. Some things are lost at the right time and are regained later. Marriage requires changes too, but gives so much to fill in the aspects lost. A child is a miracle and miracles bring amazing transformation. Things will go just as they should for you.

I wanna say having children is the most rewarding thing God gave me in my life. I had a son first then 2 daughters. Any child is a blessing from above and will bring many changes to your life. Personally still at 62, I thrive on some changes still. I still have an adventurous spirit that led me to move to Hawaii 40 years ago, and marry a local, Japanese man. Talk about change….. haha 😂 I love it bring it on!!! It’s all growth. Babies are my favorite I will admit them as grown ups isn’t my favorite part. Just being honest, I enjoyed being a mom so much. And we are all crafty in some way. It’s a must to create in life here I have made beautiful things from nature, and also made stepping stones, resin work with shells, etc. beach glass becomes beauty.I love plant art but am developing bad arthritis. Think about a brace on wrist to prevent this during repetitive motions like cutting. Take care of your hands mine are very worn out. Best wishes my guess is it’s a boy?

Oh! I'm sorry that you got so many negative comments about your upcoming excitement. I'm a mother of 4 (3 girls and 1 boy) and a Nana of 11. The years of raising my children, even through many trials, were the very best years of my life. Everything was not always a bed of roses and we definitely had our ups and downs but I wouldn't change a thing. We grew and learned together. And yes, I lost some things during those years, namely selfishness, self-centeredness and other similar things. I gained exponentially more than I lost and you will too. Best wishes to you and Luke as you prepare for the arrival of your precious little one.
