Looking Glass Rock - Pisgah National Forest, NC 

I wouldn't do it during the summer, it is slammed. Cars line the road for hundreds of yards every weekend.

@@bigzach322 thanks for the advice, one thing about going when I did there’s was very little traffic. How are week days traffic wise?

It's pretty boring, too many bike and horse trails

No, I pointed them out correctly.

The summit of Graybeard itself is a bit overgrown and the views are far better of the same thing from Rocky Knob and Pinnacle. Walkers Knob and Rattlesnake Rock offer better views, but they both look south at the valley and are washed out by sun in the afternoon. If you do the Graybeard Mountain-West Ridge-Big Piney loop you will hit all 3, and could extend to Rocky Knob for a big day using Old Trestle and Old Mitchell. The Big Butt ridgeline itself is more scenic, especially right now with fresh greenery and flowers. The 2 views from Little Butt are better in my opinion. and there are views west further north on the trail. The Big Butt Summit Trail is now maintained and is a really cool trail.

@@bigzach322 thanks so much for the info. I have a short window to hike next week and wanted a great hike. I think I will do big butt trail.

One more question. Ive been to the pinnacle. How far is the hike to rocky knob from the pinnacle? I'm assuming you hike the old toll road to it. Im planning on hiking the pinnacle soon and was wanting to check out rocky knob.
