Bud, I would love to give you some great advice that I have learned the hard way out here on the road for the last 10 years. I definitely can’t deal with the key board warriors that will just jump in. What I will say,if you have not already bought the truck some good things you can do to minimize you risk. Run a Rig Dig report, take a oil sample and send it Horizon Solutions, pull the history of the ECM. These are steps to learn about the truck before you buy it. Just remember the better the fuel mileage really helps on the bottom line. That’s were the super singles come in, but they have to be a specific Michellen X One NRG to really make a difference. Other wise any low rolling resistance dual tire will work well for economy... good luck...

Bro you need to make money from this trucks, from my personal experience, i would buy freightliner DD15 or Volvo d13 engine trucks, not that Red cummins engines, lots of issues with DEF system, not reliable engine at all, and very costly to repair.

I have 2 friends who went owner operator. They bought used and it ate up all their savings, for driveline, axle rebuilds, motor rebuild within months. They lost alot of money. They ended up financing new, when they should've bought NEW right off, when they had the money. Always go new.

Have you ever considered doing expediting? Seems like it would give you the challenges and interesting routes that you enjoyed with hotshotting but pay better and give you a great rig to operate out of.

I wouldn't recommend getting the one with the super singles if you have a choice if not and your getting a good deal then roll with it they can be a bit of a headache especially if you have a blow you can't really limp to a truck stop anyways good luck I'm currently searching for a truck myself hoping to have one before end of next week

you should hire someone to drive the ford for you. also teach them to use the tow haul mode. it sets the trans for a haul. you never did. you fucked the trans. you did it. but learn from it and hire a driver and drive a semi and you got 3 trucks on the road.

Im in the process of buying another truck in the next year or so depending on how long it takes me to save up for my costs. The first truck I bought back in 2010 I bought used it was a 2000 t800 Kw with a c12 cat in it and it was a pretty good truck. I ended up selling it because the engine was ready for a rebuild. Today with all of the emission controls on the new trucks I wouldnt consider buying a used one since the emission control engines start to have issues after a few hundred thousand miles and are very expensive to repair. So I would rather spend the extra on a new truck with a full warranty.

Are they in the trucking business or selling Truck Business. I hope they gave you a great deal. Those supper singles... I'd switch them out ASAP or you will wish you did should you breakdown. Also, go get the truck looked over before you buy.

I'd stay away from fleet trucks. Unless you get a really good deal.

Good luck man. Keep the videos coming. Good to know you can get better sleep but watch those NYC deliveries, Your going to be a big boy now. Stay away from those rear tires. Look at the replacement costs, chains etc. Not always easy to get when you actually need one. Any not at a good price when you really need one.

Be sure and BUY ONE with a Titanium OIL PAN.......makes the motor last for 2 million miles....!

Having owned the Detroit and Cummins, Detroit is way better and easier to work on. A little less expensive to work on to. Would not ever run stupid singles, but that me. There is a reason they are getting rid of the KW and going to Freightliner. No disrespect just my opinion as a O/O over 20 years. Retired now. Good luck on your journey.

Nice looking truck, but those super single tires could be very expensive if they ever get a flat. You might be replacing both the tire and the rim. At least with dual tires, if you get a flat, the not flat one can support the load till you get off the road to get a repair. Just a heads up.
