Love your content! Just bought a 2024 road glide. Might not be the best for riding in NYC but if you dip out, would strongly recommend getting one

I'd look at the Dyna line as well, its a bit lighter than the Softail and might be easier to get around with it in that traffic. I had a Street Bob back in 2006, loved that thing, and if I had the money would buy another in a heartbeat. Mini Apes and forward controls were awesome. Test drive them all if you can, and see what feels better.

I figured a softail would be a great mid between commute and lite touring. If I would to upgrade to another sportster type, Ill def look into a dyna with more HP and Torque. TBH I genuinely need some type of touring bike so I was looking into either the older ultra limited or just a newer street glide.

@@ColdHrtsMotoVlogs I'm 69 years old and I ride a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic... Been riding off and on since I was about 14 years old... My Ultra Classic weighs over 900 lbs... It's awesome to ride out on the highway... but it can be hell in city traffic... A street glide weighs around 800 lbs? And couldn't be much better in the traffic you ride in... But since you are relatively new to motorcycles I thought I'd tell you the bigger bikes ride and handle different because of the size and weight... I would suggest you do a RU-vid search for "MotorMan" and watch his videos, and maybe even practice the different ridding skills needed for a big touring bike... Keep the rubber side down... Brother 😎👍

If I get a bigger bike, I'd genuinely spend a week practicing tight turns, stopping; just getting used to the big bike in general. Clearly sportsters are lighter and more nimble, but I'd exclusively use my bigger touring bike specifically for that. That's why i'd like to have at least a heritage softail. I believe that's a perfect trio to have in the garage. commute, mid range and cross country touring.

@@ColdHrtsMotoVlogs 100% support this, Heritage Softail is a beautiful bike. If you're planning on keeping the 883, definitely go for Softail. If needed, you can always get an aftermarket tour pack to put on it and hard saddlebags, until you can get a genuine touring bike. Also, look into the 2010+ if you'd prefer a 6 speed over the 5 speed.

The softtail are good bikes but this my question. How long you had this bike and second how long you been ridding for. Other great Harley is the Harley Davidson dyna.

I had this bike since March 2024. I been riding since March 2023 so a full year of riding experience. This is my second harley iron 883. Somebody just told me if I was going to upgrade, look into the Dyna or streetbobs. I genuinely need a hybrid between commute and 200 mile tours so if you have any recommendations, let me know.

@@ColdHrtsMotoVlogs will to me I think you can tour on sportster it won’t be has comfortable has bigger bike but it can be done. But I seen people touring on dynas and street bobs I think the street bob would be great upgrade. But you looking for the touring bike I would find a road king or Harley Davidson heritage great bikes. Then goes really to your street glides to road glides and ultra limited. To me I would go look at all these options see what you like best out of all these and come bang you got self new bigger bike lol. Good luck dude.

Heritage or the ultra glide. I’m a solo rider so either or would be great. Both would be even better
