This is more my style. I love the Rolex look but people automatically think, fake watch. Any other brand other than perhaps some Omega and Tudor watches mean nothing to most people and so these just look like cool watches to the average person.
I've got the green version which is gorgeous and sufficiently different to be interesting. The sunburst effect works well on the green and the contrasting black ceramic bezel looks lush. I really like wearing my SM watch.
Thanks for your review - your reviews are always insightful and helpful in assessing watches you’re not likely to see in person. I also find timing bezels v helpful for time Mx. My Longines Hydroconquest is one of my favourite watches and I have been searching for a GMT for travel - this may well be for me the watch to get
A nice mix of Longines, Seiko, and Rolex. This reminds me of a Bliger gmt 41mm (the ones with the Royal Oak dial). $75. It doesn't look like this SM, but ... It's an attractive mix of different brands (AP, Omega, Rolex)
The sterile caseback is a winner. The second hand looks a little weird. A fully lumed bezel would have been nice. It so nice to see that San Martin is using their hexagonal logo.
The watch reminds me of Mido Ocean Star GMT. Love the design, combination of timing bezel and a GMT is my preferred kind of watch currently. Hope San Martin make Mido Ocean Star GMT next.
If I was after Mido Ocean Star GMT looks I would rather checked this SM model from a year ago. Now, I'm not entirely sure which brand made their release first... so go figure 🙂 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A7A9UN4qqzc.html
Just received this one in blue, I love it! Quality as always and funny enough my mom is traveling in Italy so I have the GMT set for her time zone. I actually like the GMT NH34 movement over the NH35 non-GMT because I get better accuracy 🤷🏻♂️ the H link bracelet is a nice change of pace and it’s nice to have a GMT with a diver bezel that doesn’t just mimic a submariner. If San Martin did some minimal decoration on the movement and did a display caseback, with quick release spring bars on the bracelet, I just think it would be hard to ignore how well they build a watch for the money.
Great review as always and a beautiful piece make no mistake. Just makes the Longines seem just so over priced. You cannot ignore the quality and value proposition
If San Martin decides to make a version 2 of this watch, they should consider moving the date window to 6 and perhaps use sword hands for better legibility.
Perfect dimensions? Is San Martin ever going to make a watch with 42mm case diameter again? I'm not asking for every watch to have those dimensions. But one in 10 maybe?
It seems San Martin is reserving decorated casebacks to their “limited” watches, as the Avocado/Beach SN0116 GMT and Year of the Dragon GMT have decorated casebacks.
San Martin shoud have open case back and decoratet rotor it is time for them to step up the ladder...without changing the pricess...they should do it for watch entuziast.
yes, san martin are way better build then pagani designs. The antireflective coating in the crystal are way better in san martin and the bracelet feels better built.
