Best tutorials for loom knitting i ever watch. Thank you soo much.

Just wanted to say thank you for this tutorial. Last fall, I used this video to make myself a blanket. It's so warm and cozy. I'm in the process of making another as a gift. The thing weighs 6 pounds and it's completely worth it for the coziness it offers!! Your videos are so user friendly and I've tried many of your other tutorials to practice my loom knitting techniques! Thank you, I look forward to more in the future.

Thank you so much for your time recording this video. Is very professional and really easy to follow. I loved a tip about tightening the cast on at the beginning of the project. I know what scarf I'll be knitting now :)

So this pattern is awesome. For the record, I absolutely massacred the pattern and basically repeated the first two rows over and over and it came out beautiful anyway. So I’m about to start a second and perhaps just watch the video over and over to get the pattern right. This worked up really quickly. I made 5-6 ft scarf in three nights. Thank you for the video.

Beautiful pattern. You have an exceptional presentation style, so pleasant to listen to. Thank you also for the pattern chart. I don’t like to count when I knit - I’d rather listen to a podcast. After studying the pattern, I’d call it a “Crenelation”, formed by crossing the gap, advancing 1 peg, crossing, advancing, cross, advance,…to the end of the row. The only difference is how the forward and reverse passes start - the forward passes involve crossing the gap twice without advancing, so it’s cross, wrap, cross to start the forward passes. The reverse passes (rows 2 and 4) begin with wrapping the peg the yarn is on, then crossing: wrap, cross, wrap. Keeping just these two things in mind, and knowing as you said that the reverse passes always overlay the forward passes, and that the forward passes are always opposite of the prior row, makes the chart unnecessary once your familiar with the pattern, and it’s really hard to goof up. Really nice job on the video.

Love your channel. I really like the pattern for this scarf. Do you have any other patterns using the Bernat Blanket yarn (I have tons of this yarn I was using to crochet blankets with until I discovered looming)?
@hellomsyarn

I've used Bernat Blanket for scarves, cowls and blankets. You can check out the "purl ridge stitch cowl" since I did a version using that yarn.

To make it wider do you do 2 top and 2 bottom until you get the width you want?
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 3 года назад
Yes, I used 9 pegs on top and 9 on bottom, so you could use 11, 13 or 15 on top and the same on bottom.

Hi again. Is there a stitch multiple to use for making a wider scarf? (Not very good at Math, LOL)
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 3 года назад
You can use any odd number of pegs. Row 1 needs to start with a U and end with an upside-down U.

Some people like to go over 50 inches, but I like mine to be shorter. There are "official" scarf lengths that you can google. Honestly sometimes I just stop when I'm out of yarn.

If your yarn is close to the end and you are still not done, is the a way to connect two yarns together ? Or is there another way to fix it?
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 2 года назад
I often join yarn using the "magic knot." The channel Bella Coco has a good video for that. Other knitters tie knots and make more of a effort to hide it inside the scarf, or they hold the old strand and new strand together for several stitches as they knit. So there are lots of good ways, but my current favourite is the magic knot.

Hi, you can print it off, and check off a box after you complete a row. It might help you keep track of which row you have completed.

I went by your video and my stitches look smaller than yours on the picture. Why is that? And what is meant by Double knitting? I am using same yarn as you.
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 3 года назад
You might be knitting more tightly than I am. Double knitting is when we use both the top and bottom rows of a long loom. This is different from a single-knit flat panel, which you knit using one side of the long loom, or using a round loom.

Hi, I'm using worsted weight yarn on a smaller loom with pegs (nails into a wooden board) that are closer together, and it's agonizingly difficult to do yarn over with this stitch. Do you recommend using a bulkier, stretchy yarn? I'm using acrylic which usually has a decent amount of give but this was just too hard on my hands, the yarn was too taut each row.
@hellomsyarn
@hellomsyarn 3 года назад
In general I prefer to use yarn with wool content like Wool Ease which is 20% wool. It just makes knitting more agreeable. You should enjoy the process, so maybe try using wool blends and/or wrapping your pegs more loosely.

I believe I finished with a row 4. Then I did a row of Figure 8s before binding off. You need these Figure 8s to straighten out the bind off edge. Hope this helps.
