ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Bob Morgan is a 1980 graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. His undergraduate degree came from the University of Illinois. Dr. Morgan joined the Loomis Basin mixed practice in 1980 and then spun off the large animal practice with Dr. Greg Fellers in 1990. Dr. Morgan and his wife, Cindy, reside in Lincoln where she operates an equine breeding and training facility. Bob spends a considerable portion of his late winter and spring practice days involved in equine reproduction which is especially rewarding when the next year’s foals begin to arrive. Throughout the year he focuses on preventative medicine and wellness including vaccination, dentistry, and parasite control as well as a variety of medical and lameness issues.
ABOUT LBEMC
Conveniently located in the community of Penryn, California, just northeast of Sacramento, LBEMC offers a practice unique to the area. With the exception of the U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, LBEMC is the only facility in Northern California offering hospitalization, surgery and intensive care for horses. The original Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic was established in 1975 for both farm and companion animals. In 1991, the large animal clinic was established as an independent practice in order to improve patient care by focusing services primarily on horses. With the equine hospital opened in 2004, the practice was officially renamed Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center in 2005.
Today, LBEMC doctors bring a combination of specialty training focusing on continuing education, energy, and a commitment to quality health care for horses. Associate doctors are selected for their high professional standards, humanitarian spirit, and specific interest in horses.
