Thanks for quoting the legend! To be honest, I haven't checked his stuff that much - I should. I approach with permutation/combination and prob that's similar to him 🍀

@@MotoFukushima He’s definitely an acquired taste, but if you’re interested the song and solo from Devil Take the Hindmost is a great starting place. I’ve found a lot of inspiration in his prolific use of augmented and harmonic runs, and Jeff Berlin always speaks very highly of his time with him and what it did to his playing (side note: Berlin’s solo on Holdsworth’s Water on the Brain is a masterclass).
