I respectfully disagree...I think AJ comes off a little phony and i also can’t respect a “champion” who isn’t looking to unify the belts immediately. I don’t know if it’s him or Hearn, but they are absolutely ducking Wilder (for the time being). AJ is by far the better boxer compared to Wilder, but it seems to me that Wilder really has the heart of a champion, where Joshua is defined by the championships and after losing admittedly being humiliated in defeat by Ruiz, he’s now going to he scared to take on dangerous fights, like Wilder who can get out boxed for 11 rounds and then shut the lights out in the 12th.
Floyd Mayweather popularised the '0', but it's certainly not obligatory. It was something specific to his career, these new heavyweights don't quite realise this, I feel. People flocked to see Floyd fight to see if he would lose his '0' because the majority of the public, the US especially, really disliked him. He was skilled, but it was mainly a wanting to see him finally fall (which of course never happened). But these new heavyweights seem to think it's just a matter of an '0' making you seem impressive and unbeatable, so they just fight to protect their '0' as though they depend on it without realising it's not actually necessary, it was just a Floyd thing.

To all those people saying “AJ was just running”: First of all, you’re just casuals, because boxing is a sport of strategy and adaptation. AJ did just that, he outboxed Ruiz exploiting his opponent’s weaknesses. If you think a fight is just standing face to face and trading punches, you clearly don’t know much about boxing and, secondly, you’re not going to last very long as a fighter that way. AJ’s tactic was to remain light on the feet, keep moving, mantaining distance with a precise jab. If you believe that that’s easy means you don’t know shit about being 12 rounds in a boxing ring. AJ’s conditioning was extraordinary, how he kept moving, switching things up, man, that’s a world class fighter right there. Joshua definetly deserves to be Heavyweight champion! (Don’t get me wrong, Ruiz is also an amazing fighter, but he got outsmarted this time. Now I would love to see AJ fight Wilder or Fury in the near future)

Sorry mate but I think losing a lot of that weight is not good for him unless he plans to move and box around. On the otherhand, Ruiz gained more weight which means he is going for an early knockout. If AJ can keep his distance and box Ruiz with his reach then he could win, but if Ruiz catches him ,which I think he will, it could be an early night of boxing.
