You can stick it to the gel polish before top coat. No need to double top because it will look thick and not natural. Unless you going for that encapsulated look, then do you. 😌

If your gel polish has a tacky layer then yes:) I find now, since I filmed this a couple years ago, if I use a thicker top coat clients are less likely to wear it down and have foil stick through. But as always do you cause there are so many ways to accomplish looks❤️

Hi, thanks for this video. Can I ask you if you have a video of how you did your own nails please? And also I’m really not trying to be awful here but would you be nice enough to answer people’s questions on here!! People have asked you stuff weeks ago and there’s nothing back from you at all. Do you not get fingerprints in the gel? That’s what I’m worried about. Hope this works for me. Gonna do gold leaf on mine in the morning?

I haven’t but now I am much better about wearing gloves if I am going to touch the surface of the nail simply to minimize exposure and lint and marks. I hope they turned out amazing!

@@HilaryDawnHerrera I’ve just done the gold leaf around the edges of the nail like the cuticle side and covered full on the thumbs and ring fingers. On my left hand it’s more bumpy so in the morning I’m gonna do another coat of clear builder gel so it’s smooth like the others. I was in a rush, I did them while on a zoom call and then I had to make tea (dinner). Thanks for the reply.

Yes! I would let it mostly dry so it is barely tacky and then be sure to double top coat, drying between coats

Is this the same technique used for ether flakes? Also can I ask why the gel nail has the inhibition layer wiped off? I thought that would be needed for the 1st top coat to adhere to the nail. I hope you reply 🤞🏻 I’ve been looking for a video like this forever

You could use this technique with flakes. And you can place them in the inhibition layer, it just depends how you’re trying to manipulate the gel. I do like to leave that layer if possible so the topcoat can hold on well but sometimes you manipulate things for art

Could you use a gel base coat for the sticky layer for the foils?

It will work if it is sticky once cured. If it isn’t as tacky you can add tack

After applying the top coat on top of the nail foils done sticking, how long do you leave it in the UV light for?

Depends on what your gel top coat says. Usually led it will be between 30-60 seconds

Like a regular air dry top coat? Yes and once dry I would top coat over it

Try putting a thicker coat of something like base over it before top coat

LeKeisha James it is online or through local distributors. Many gel top coats are sticky once cured unless it is labeled no wipe:) hopefully that helps
