If you experience tight hamstrings and calves, this video will guide you through a series of Pilates stretches and exercises to relieve that tightness. If you are an avid walker or runner, a cyclist, or even sit a lot at work, doing these calf and hamstring stretches can keep you more limber and mobile and help prevent injuries. Tightness in the hamstrings and calves can also contribute to lower back pain, so these exercises may help that as well. These stretches are easy for beginners, and can be done with just a mat and a few props: a resistance band/strap, a yoga block and a tennis or lacrosse ball. Not only will you stretch and release the calf and hamstring muscles, you'll also get a mini massage using the ball!

This is the best hamstring and calf exercise I could find which really helped me. after playing soccer my muscles were getting stiff and starting to pain. How often do you recommend doing this stretches?

Thank you so much for this video. I have plantar fasciitis really bad with hot spots my hams, calves, tendons. I also have a old ankle injury. I will be doing this every day for healing

Flipping eck, my legs are uuuuuber stiff (years of cycling). I notice all the YT famous yoga teachers are super flexible and don't cover men with rigor mortis legs at all lol! That's a gap in the market! First exercise for me was aaaaah pain :) lol. The second one I couldn't get very far at all. The towel one was very interesting. My right was ok but as soon as I put it under my left foot, I could hardly step forward at all with my right, the muscles all around the shin bone were super tight. I like that one! If you have any playlists for super-duper tight men, count me in!

I pulled a muscle in my back a week ago and have been babying it through severe spasms since. Today I decided it felt good enough to resume some kind of return. I was so happy to see your Pilates for Pain Relief playlist and chose the "hamstrings and calves" to start off with. It really really helped!! I can feel my back is looser. I plan on doing the one for lower back pain next and then possibly both after that as I progress through this week. Thank you so much!!💗

I enjoy exploring the selection of videos on your page. I found this older one this morning and really found it made a difference to my tight hamstrings. Another great presentation and group of movements. I am bookmarking this one for repeated use. I have a feeling if I pair this video with the “tight hip” video I will really feel good things.

Glad you stumbled upon this older video! Loosening up tight hamstrings and hips can make such a huge difference. I often don't realize how tight those areas are until I'm stretching, which is when I realize how much more I need to focus on flexibility myself. Great for you for putting a focus on mobility and flexibility!
