Freighters and or delivery staff stealing is a major problem here in America. Can’t imagine the issues getting stuff to Australia. Freaking nightmare I’m thinking.
We have experienced the same issue with UPS, and currently have a large order that has been "lost" since the middle of December. We also regularly have boxes opened or arrive completely destroyed when bringing in large shipments from Europe.
I'm awaiting a small personal shipment from Ultraview. My order was marked delivered a couple days ago. But I never got my order. I don't recognize the 'Received by' name on the UPS tracking. I have to reach out to UPS to find out what 's going on. Guessing they delivered to someone else. Not sure what the point of the signature is if it doesn't need to match the destination name.
That’s wild man. It’s sad that that’s just become a normal part of doing business. You have a great attitude considering what happened. I’d be losing my mind. Someone would get a free trip to the middle of nowhere in the trunk of a car.
A delivery system where you don't have to acknowledge delivery seems like a scam, I would definitely be taking this further. A Current Affair may be interested in doing a story on UPS. We often get notification that a parcel has been delivered but luckily the recipient usually tracks us down.
It's unbelievable that the shop is responsible for items sent to them when they are not even told when it is shipped and the company sending the stuff chooses the contractor and the contractor then offloads it to a sub contractor. That makes no sense at all to me.
Terrible news Steve, I love your videos and your reviews. I hope you'll receive your Ultraview shipment. I live in Canada which is easy to get products from USA. I am sure this issue will work out and you'll get the missing shipment.
At least in my area in the US UPS is awesome, USPS has lost, damaged, and I seriously suspect with some evidence that our delivery guy has stolen our packages
I will say Stephen that Aramex is wonderful, I was in your shop Tuesday and the bow I bought has already arrived back home in Brisbane Friday morning. Now I have to wait till I get home from holidays to use it!
Had something similar here in the UK. Had my local archery shop order a Bowtech Reckoning 38 from the supplier in Belgium. Funnily enough it was loaded on the shipment in Belgium, by the time it made it to the UK it had vanished.
Belgium! I buy things quite regularly from overseas and one time I bought a used limb from a Belgian seller, the Belgian Post sent it to Mozambique! Thank goodness the insurance claim was good and I got my money back.
As a small pro shop, I completely Understand. They can't figure out why so many pro shops are closing left and right. We can't absorb losses for customers and 200 million dollar archery companies also. They are destroying the industry by expecting pro shops to take fault for everything.
UPS is an unmitigated nightmare here in the US too. They completely suck. I've had them lose (steal?) some items of mine here and there over the years too.....
I don't think we have these problems in the states but I could be wrong. BTW....I just placed a big order with you Steve so I hope things are running smooth because I want it yesterday !!
Sorry to hear this Steve. Very frustrating when systems don’t provide the service they are designed to provide and aren’t accountable for their actions. $10k is a significant loss for most businesses.
The best thing any manufacturer could do, especially archery manufacturers, is do not have fancy custom boxes with their logo on them. That way the delivery workers don't know if they're carrying something expensive or a box of rocks.
I feel for you!!! I don't like on-line ordering, but in MOST cases WHAT CAN YOU DO? I deal with a some what local dealer, and if I can't get it there then from the USA . I've been VERY lucky from the USA and even had packages come much sooner than said . Some times your hands are tied, DAMMED IF YOU DO DAMMED IF YOU DON'T
Very sad, looks like UPS or the actual carrier would be responsible. Also looks like UV would be willing to do more legwork and have more responsibility as well.
My wife worked for usps. They can't steal items. They get there at 6am at post office, scan each package, then load each package in vehicle I bought, post master plans route, wife sent on her way. Each stop she scans packages, an at end of day if your item can't be delivered because of bad weather, road, dogs, no label, messed up label, etc then it goes back to post office.
Horrendous news and absolutely criminal how people know that nobody will pursue their thefts. It's disgusting. It's near as bad as online stealing nowadays. On a side note, LOVE that Bulldog target behind you. I bought mine and LOVE them. Now I want the larger ones with their own protective shed.
This happened to me with some camera gear. I ordered a $300 bit from a reputable dealer in qld/nsw/Vic.....they sent me a $20,000 lens which was 100 times the size and weight. They were lucky I'm honest with a conscience
That's arse! You would think the tracking system should be able to tell you exactly where the stuff up has occurred, and the company/driver responsible involved should be liable!
Oh dude i get annoyed from one a 200 dollar product gets lost, i can only imagine if you're loosing that much i understand while most shops in Western Australia have such little stock. It sucks for the consumer and the seller.
This crap first time I saw in US and I was shocked when UPS drop package cost a lot just my the house and leave and it is consider "delivered"...wtf, I didn't signed or ascknoledge aceptance. Now I live in Russia and no such things - accept mean accept (sign, or show ID, or special code).
As commented above, the address for the car should be your first call. They are obviously waiting for their item and maybe have yours but are unsure where you are, or they are just thieving drogo's and are rubbing hands together.
That’s not about a shipmentbeing lost. That shipment has been stolen. It’s so unfair :( Someone has your stuff. Imho the delivery-guys are responsable. I just wonder why you can not report them with justice.
you are responsible under australian consumer law when you send something... not sure how that works for you importing stuff... but in theory if it doesn't arrive consumer law should cover you too and you can force a refund... but I guess you do that only once to a supplier and they never supply you again... so its crappy.
you should have to sign for a order that cost 10 grand, ups should be able to track that order down, are you saying you have to just eat an order costing 10 grand, what if that happens again ,are you supposed to just take the loss on these orders costing thousands
I know who has your package. The person who bought the toy car has your package. They switched boxes by accident. Go to that address, and threaten a police report if he/she doesn't comply. UPS gave me my neighbors package, and my neighbor has mine. Simple switch mistake.
Ever since the wu-flu couriers have been incredibly sloppy and lazy with deliveries... eg, they don't verify that you are who you say you are when you need to sign for goods, or they just leave something and run - without even bothering to get a signature (are they forging sigs!?) I'm getting sick of it. They have extremely low standards.
I have ran a retail business for a very long time. If you do not take the last courier to handle your package and the owner of the toy car to small claims court, then you deserve to lose the $10k
You have odd rules over there. In the US, if something is lost, it’s the delivery companies problem. And they must fix it. If something gets broken, that’s between the warehouse not packing or properly, or someone on the UPS truck sitting on a box he shouldn’t be while eating his lunch. It’s the delivery companies responsibility. You have odd rules where you never win. They want you to lose all of your money. Move to the US and stop the insanity.
Shipping companies suck amd need to wake up!!!! Slow down and do your job right! This shit happens to me all the time.. shipping is so bad.. Omg Canada Post sucks!!!!
That is why Australia is going down the drain I have to order basic stuff from Europe because we are the arse end of the world and we do not make stuff and most Aussies are hard pressed to join 2 pieces of string together
