Enjoy the videos very helpful, You taught me much of what i know about modding skyrim.. im now at around 1200 mods. But i have a question about saving Hard drive space. I noticed you covered almost all topics, but maybe you could tell me how to make the game take up less space without losing any mods? so far ive used Easy NPC to compile all of my npc mods into 3 plugins, so i can remove the npc mods and still have them. Is there anything else i can do thats similar to this to other mods? Thanks for reading sorry for wall of text!
Somehow I just now noticed you are posting tutorials again, super happy to see that. I’ve never seen another channel do as good of a job as you in explaining things and helping me get to a point where I actually feel like I know what I’m doing lol. Thanks for everything!
This man is the backbone of my Skyrim modding experience. I can't express how many times you sir, have saved my game, nay, my PC from exploding. Hats off.
I am watching this as a mod newbie and so thankful I stumbled onto your profile. Soothing voice (rare in this community from what I've experienced) no bullshit instructions. but what gave the like was the blooper ending. love the realism in the videos.
I appreciate that, man :) When modding Bethesda games the best advice I can give is go slow. Install a few mods at a time. Test. Trying to figure out what's wrong after tossing 100 mods in is sometimes impossible. Small victories when it comes to Bethesda games.
I've been encouraging my friends who are new to modding to check out LOOT because of the amount of information the application returns on mods and load order. I'll be sending them your way to learn more. Thank you again for such a great video!
this is the one, only, and BEST guide i have EVER seen. not annoying, helps everyone, and straight to the point. and his voice is MAJESTIC!! yes. this is it.
Man, it is not often that I feel so relaxed after learning something new. Anxiety over potentially making mistakes typically gets to me in one way or another, but not here.
When I first learned modding it was hard and annoying, thanks to your videos it's been as much fun as actually playing the games, and gives me an excuse to re-watch your amazing videos, I always make sure to recommend your channel to everyone that even slightly mentions modding to me.
Woah, you happened to upload this exactly when I needed it. I haven't even watched the video and I already can't thank you enough, I've been binging your videos to help me mod my Skyrim with minimal stress and its been a delight
You are the greatest channel for modding tutorials! A friend of mine recommended you when I told them I was interested in modding Skyrim SE, and every time I need information on something, like LOOT, I immediately come here. Your videos are detailed, yet get right to the point, which is what I like. Also, your voice is amazing. You could be a radio host or an actor, if you wanted. Excellent work!
Been an avid follower for years. I don't consider myself a gamer because I really only play Skyrim. Your videos are amazing and you have the most chill attitude. I wish you the very best Michael. and also, thank you!
i know this isn't your newest video but i also know you read most (if not all) comments as you replied to a comment incredibly quickly of mine on a very old video about a year ago, so i just wanted to say it's great to see you have been doing all right and feeling up to creating content again. i know it's not a simple task, and i know your life has been far from simple, so as someone who also has been through and continues to go through a lot, i'm just very happy to see you and hear your relaxing, straightforward tutorials again ♥
I'm absolutely in love with the fact that this video was posted right around when I wanted to start modding skyrim again, thanks a million for the time you took for this video 💖
Thank you so much for this channel! Some of the mod authors that write tutorials or tips for their own mods sound like Greek to me, but you actually break down modding in a way that's easy to understand.
This is literally the savior of the modding community. I love the “relax, you got this” screen bc you know we already have 2 porous monitors and thousands of key caps lying all over the place already.
Hi Michael! Sorry to be a "noob" pain in the backside with this, but since I am a noob at gaming, but mostly because you care so much about the quality of your videos and guides, I figured you'd want to know there's an issue that was a bit confusing for a moment. I'm on your "My Way...My Way to Skyrim" site page trying to follow along with your instructions on how to set things up. I'm at the XEdit drop down after having finished everything else up to this point. I noticed that the vid link is for THIS video, and that the instructions for XEdit are for, and Labeled, as LOOT Install. Also the adding XEdit to MO2 also states to add the LOOT .exe instead of the XEdit .exe. Other than that, I'm learning a lot and thank you for all that you have been doing for us to enhance our gaming experience! Ps...Happy Thanksgiving!! :)
That part is being written = ) Its a copy and paste of the previous section for the formatting. I have videos on xEdit already if you need help with it. The steps will likely be the same once I get around to writing it.
ooooooooo cooooool. I did not even know loot HAD a separate runable .exe. I thought it was just a database mod managers used. Definitely gonna have to check this out for more fine tuning. THANKS!
Its always troublesome for me if a mod requires a specific load order, sometimes mods will just say they need to be at the end of the load order. The problem with that is as you continue adding mods you want to sort the load order of the new mods without LOOT changing the manual edits to load order you have already made per instructions. A brief mention of overwrites and how you dont want too many would also be worth talking about for load order but i guess this is a LOOT video - its a great place to start. Its not too difficult to dive in and remove certain files that are overwritten by other mods (once you know which load order you want) and once you get into overwrites sometimes its more about what you prefer than what LOOT suggests. That's where the beauty of modding starts imo, you can craft it to be exactly how you wanted
Thanks for the help, I recently picked up Morrowind and since I sucked at it as a kid, I wanna get into it as an adult and am trying to mod it a bit. Also I love your voice
I love your videos! I have neurological issues affecting my memory. I literally cannot remember what I did 3 days ago much less how exactly to mod games. Sometimes I just get so frustrated! I really like how your videos say "pause if you need to" and "you got this", it helps me remember that modding is supposed to make games I already love a little more fun and not stressful. Thank you!
Im a Total noob here that tried to follow your guide. So far i have manged: - Ive got MO2 and loot installed - loot is linked and on MO2 - I have the MODs installed on MO2 and can run the game form MO2 - When i run loot from MO2 it opens loot in another window and shows all the MODs in Plugins - Ive select "Sort Plugins" it sorts out all the MODs in the Order they should be for optomisation (in LOOT) - But i cant see (as your video) " Apply Sorted Load Order" to change the order for my MO2 when i have pressed Sort Plugins Because i cant find the Apply Sorted Load order, My MO2 is the same and has not been updated. Where is this Apply Sorted Load order tab as its driving me crazy Any help appreciated ** Ive Sorted it, looked through the video several times to understand what to do and how to do it. Thanks
I keep getting this message when trying to launch LOOT from MO2: "The output mod 'Local output' for TES4Edit does not exist." I'm using MO2 for Oblivion modding. It's my 1st time, this is too complex!! I also get this error when I try to launch TES4 Edit in MO2 : "The designated write target "Local output" is not enabled." I can launch the game but my saved games from the vanilla game are gone, so i have to start from scratch.. Also my character has the words "Run Block Head" tatooed on his face XD... How to fix?? Thx
Exactly at the right moment I was working on modding Skyrim from scratch. Yes, sir, please, I'd like a more advanced tutorial on how the hell I can make TOOL work =D
I’m really sorry to post such a long text, but I’m getting this error from loot after falling your steps and wasn’t sure what to do to fix it, I’ve been looking for hours for a solution and can’t find one. “LOOT has detected that the current load order is ambiguous, which means that other applications might use a different load order than what LOOT displays. You can use the "Fix Ambiguous Load Order" action in the Game menu to unambiguously set the load order to what is displayed by LOOT.”
Loot won't work for me. I try to launch from the vortex dashboard and nothing happens. If I click on the loot launcher in my c drive, loot will pop up, but every time I try to use it, it says something about a prelude error and closes the connection. I can't update master lists or anything! 😢
Dunno how to move the mods manually in plugins or LOOT. A specific mod tells to sort it right at the bottom. Sorting plugins from Vortex keeps them near the bottom, but LOOT has them somewhere above a couple dozen mods out of less than 300. Which one should I follow here?
IIRC, Vortex has a really handy load order rules function, which allows plugins to load after one another depending on rules set by the user. Is there a function like this in LOOT or MO2?
Hey brother, great video! I have a question. Does LOOT really automatically sort your load order? I feel like my load order is messed up but LOOT doesn’t change anything when I select Sort Order. Any advice?
Hello sir i installed skyrim 3 4 times but i dont know how to mod is there any of your video in which i can see all basic that how and from where i should install mod manager and mods etc and how to mod
