Fun Fact, Lord Farquaad is based on former (& at the time) Disney CEO Micheal Eisner, which makes John Lithgow’s casting really funny cause he was originally going to voice Hades in Hercules but Eisner believed it wasn’t working so they got James Woods instead.

To be honest, I don't really believe that this is their sincere first reaction to Shrek... Come on, have these people not watched shrek since 2001? Everyone knows him, how could they miss something like this...

Maurice Tillet was a French Wrestler known as The French Angel. Shrek is based on him. Go look at a picture of him he looks just like Shrek.

Shrek was one of the few movie franchises that while they weren't as good as the original the sequel were very enjoyable ........I kinda wish in another one of the movies Shrek had been in a cage match with a bad guy would've been a great reference to the first movie (and yes I know he was imitating a wrestling match)
