Great shave video as usual Paul ! The Yaqi synthetics are all of them absolute fabulous! Just a thing of clarification : the razor you used in the current shave is actually the Lord L6 (product code LP.1822 Head weight 27gr , handle weight 16gr in a total of 43 grams also it's 9 cm total handle length ) - the head of Lord L6 is a copy of the Merkur style head , while the Lord L5 (product code L.122) head is a copy of the Gillette Tech (the post-war tech to be precise). Both excellent and very inexpensive (i personally find the L6 more efficient and equally mild that the L5 but ymmv as we say! ) . Happy Shaves !

Happy Sunday Paul! The flowers and music always bring a cheerful smile to my face...thank Mrs. H. please. I really like the shape of the brush handle and the color reminds me of amber. I never put anything on the big screen. I have a 17 inch computer screen and I see you on the standard RU-vid window (8 inch by 4.5 inch?)...that's as big as I need. I keep thinking the Juniper-berry scent would remind of Gin...so might the folks at church...lol. Today's shave was nice. I used my 1962 Gillette Slim Adjustable on setting 6, loaded with a 1974 Personna 74 Plus (12th use). 1948 Williams Luxury Cream with Lanolin, applied to the face, and lathered with the PAA Atomic Rocket 26 mm synthetic brush. 3 pass plus pick-ups shave leaving the face baby bottom smooth. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and PAA Atomic Bay Rum. I love how this bay rum smells! You are correct, chasing the BBS is addictive. Great shave Paul. Thank you for posting. Take care.

All Yaqi synthetic are excellent Paul! I have the 30mm barber pole handle, you may want to buy one too! Huge brush and knot!

Another great video Paul. Glad you mentioned patience. I've only been DE shaving for 5 weeks or so and for the first few shaves I got loads of nicks and considered going back to cartridges. But I've stuck with it and now getting some much better results without (much) blood. Keep up the good work Sir.

Nicely done Paul and no war paint today...Lol. Soap looked to work plenty good with enough water added. Don't have any Yaqi brushes, but that one looks interestingly delightful. A simple shave with great results, and you're right, don't need expensive tools to get that smooth shave. It's nice to have the high end stuff but it's not really needed. I was under the impression the L6 has the Merkur style head and L5 has the Tech head.. also called the Lord Tech...

Hi Paul, just want to say how great I think your channel is, your content is fantastic and I always use your opinions when looking at getting new shaving stuff. Having a one year old I don't get too much spare time, but when I do I always find watching ur channel whilst having a shave myself is very therapeutic, and that's why we do it right? To have that chilled out time to ourselves. I managed to pick up myself an old Wilkinson sword Sticky from a vintage/antique shop for a fiver!! just wondering have you ever used one and if so, got any recommendations for blades? As it looks like it is quite a mild razor. Keep up with the great work, looking forward to the midweek video already.

I have the 26mm two band badger version. I think the handle is the same. I love the design and have no problems with the corners. It fit´s awesome in my hand and the weight is great too! Nice shave paul!! Jens

Excellent Sunday shave Paul... very pleasant to watch... enjoyed it. The handle on the Yaqi brush sort of reminds me of of the handle of a shorty screw driver... grip looks to be fantastic on it. The Lord razor looks to be similar to the Gillette Tech... always get good shaves from that. Have a great week and take care.

Great shave Paul! Never tried a Lord razor...must get one to try, from memory they won't break the bank. LOL, Brut. I never used to really like it all that much til recently. I remember the original Faberget scent. If you ever crave a soap and splash that pretty well approximates that scent, get a tub of Wholly Kaw "La Fougere Parfaite". It is like Brute / Brute 33 but somehow classier (and devoid of that 'cocnutty' background pong of the new Brute). Of course, the outstanding performance of Wholly Kaw is there as well to enjoy.

Paul, do a video explaining what is this concept of “improving the technique”. Had a discussion with somebody that he says that we can have a more aggressive shave with a more mild razor if the technique is good. saw all your videos got the concepts and tricks so how do I judge if my technique is perfect, how do I improve it and how do I see if I’m going in the right direction. It seems mambo jambo talk of more experiente wetshavers. Tks.

This brush is easily my favourite one. Soft, but with enough backbone and with a compact and precise knot. I just don't see any reason for a natural hair knot. Using my silvertip has become a nuisance after a few months of these synts.

Love your videos but that's not an L5. The L5 uses a Gillette Tech type head. That's the L6 which uses a Merkur style head with a larger blade gap compared to the Merkur 2 & 3 piece razors.

Hello sir, is it safe to use Brut splash version instead of BRUT aftershave ? I mean, what is the difference of these two cosmetics. I see people using the splash version instead of aftershave after they shave.

And I'm afraid it's a Lord L6 afterall. The L5 is a Gillette Tech clone and the L6 is a Merkur head clone. Still, a great shave nevertheless :)
