Raining stars was my entry to find this band, and it's still one of the very best they've done. Would easily recommend anyone to give it a listen (and the music video is beautiful as well, of course.)

I love this band! Their singer Chris Harms is also changing between beautiful clear, dark singing and grunts&growls. They are great musicians and released beside their regular albums three acoustic „Swan Songs“ longplayer with a classic ensemble. My suggestion to get deeper into their music is „Under the sun“: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O9t8ViSAr70.html Dark rock meets glam metal meets gothic meets synths meets clear vocals meets growls and screams. I just love this band and the boys themselves. They are so cool, crazy, kind and friendly. I did shoot them several times as concert photographer including backstage documentaries. No other band I shot got so many photos awarded, as they are such an incredible live band.

On live they are amazing. I saw them on February in Germany. One of the best live I made. Chris is just perfect on stage. Look at their loockdown versions of this year it's just too fun to look.

The Loreley is a kind of German Siren / mermaid. Loreley comes from old German dialects of the middle Rhine area. Lore comes from an old Rhine area word "luren" (whispering). And "Ley" means rock. All the steep rock cliffs at the river Rhine have names with "Ley" in it because of that. In ancient times there were harsh and dangerous rapids in front of the "Whispering Rock" (Loreley). The echo of the water of those rapids had an effect, as if the rock was whispering. The Rhine was at all times and ages an important waterway. But most sailors of ancient times were not able to swim and when their boats were smashed in the wild rapids in front of the Loreley, they drowned there very often. So the Germans made a kind of own Siren / mermaid saga about that rock. The unlucky Loreley, who was on her way to be forced into a monastery jumped from the rock of the Loreley to her death. There was an unlucky love story involved, too. From that day on she sat as a kind of ghost on the rock besides the dangerous rapids and sang sad songs and combed her long, golden hair. That enchanted the sailors on the freight boats and they didn't watched out for the dangerous rocks and rapids of that place...and so they crashed their boats and drowned. Distracted by the Siren Loreley. At exactly that place there is a statue of sad Siren Loreley. Sitting on a rock and combing her long golden hair. Some years ago a tank ship crashed there. Killing one sailor. On the photos one can see the sad Loreley statue looking on the half submerged freight ship. My recommendation for a reaction: The band "Die Krupps" and their song "Allies". Nice reaction. You guys are a whole heap of fun. This is the the hard end of gothic rock imo a lot of which uses metal. You like this you will probably like Megaherz "Himmelsturmer" or "Vorhang Auf"' which is metal or some of the melodeath bands like Parasite Inc. "Pulse of the Dead".

I know I'm 4 years too late, but here's my opinion. Sometimes we get too hung onto labels & it becomes restrictive for the artist. LOTL is rock, metal, industrial, goth, pop & classical all rolled into 1 very talented band. If we say they're simply rock or metal, we're neglecting all their other talents. Let's just say whether we like a band or not, or whether they're talentered or not, & leave them with the freedom to explore music however they want to. LOTL reminds me of Gothminister, in fact they're 2 of my favourites bands. Neither of them are pigeon-holed in 1 particular genre but are quite fluid, basically doing whatever they want to do, straddling metal, rock, techo, pop, etc. I love that in a band. I also adore that both Chris Harms (LOTL) & Bjørn Alexander Brem (GM) have deep voices, something I find incredibly sexy. They're great singers too. They performed together last year too, with GM being special guests of LOTL. GM are more theatrical in their live performances though, using animatronics, actors, dancers, etc, to put on a horror show, including blood, entrails, werewolves, witches, zombies & monsters.

Being someone who is also called Manuel, I've always found funny how English speakers pronounce my name. It's like they say "manual", which is close, but not the same. The "Manu-" part is right, it's just the -el what most people don't get. So, that E sound is the same as in play, and the L is the same as in let. I know, it's weird, but Spanish is a language that always sounds the same.

I think is not metal or rock!I think is song is a F@CKING MASTERPIECE! They have take all the good pieces of pop,80s, rock,Goth, Industrial and Metal, combined in a MASTERPIECE with screams and Psalms inside with a Goth aesthetic in the voice! I'm not a fan of the band, maybe i will become one,is like Rammstein-Bowie and Sisters of Mercy make an orgy and they get birth of this band and specific this song!I really love it!

Lord of the Lost are an incredibly creative and talented band. Their music videos are always amazing and especially the singer Chris Harms knows how to do a good performance. If you want to watch a live video from Lotl, I recommend a video from the M’era Luna Festival (2018). It's gothic metal... not in the Tristania vein but an evolution of Sisters of Mercy and Garden of Delight. Similar to Seraphim Shock. It's gothic metal in the purest sense, Gothic Rock fused with metal, hence the keyboards, vocals, theatrics, and the riffs and screams.

German goth metal. Chris Harms is a S@x God!! And he could read a crisp advert and I would be in heaven!! And buy whatever he told me. He does seem such a sweet guy too. He did a recentish call with Kardovox Academy reaction channel to talk over some more recent music. I love the guy. Well, he’s German. His accent is sexy!! Please react to more LOTL!!
