Found this vid after getting my own set box for fun, now I'm getting pulled back into Magic all over again. So fun to watch along, the cards in this set are amazing imo
I'm still a bit baffled at the overall prices for this? Is it more costly because of the rights to the LotR-IP? Like I'm looking at the potential pulls in set and draft boosters and there's like 2 chase rares above 10 bucks and a bunch of mythics, which are even less reliable to pull AND it's early days so a lot of the cards are more expensive then they will be in the future. It just looks to me like when the dust has settled the box-ev won't be all that high. But I also am just not a magic finance expert so I know I could be super wrong about everything. Still, it feels like a lot of people will spend money on this for pure nostalgia, so despite the high price it might be a heavily opened set so cards will be in high supply (meaning cheap) while boxes will stay relatively expensive or simply rise in price as they tend to do. So if I were to buy a box or two or two of these, I'm not sure if the best course of action is to actually open them.
@@paulszki the non-foil toppers are the cheapest that they'll be right now. I wouldn't sit too much longer on singles, as certain cards (Bowmaster being one), are going up in price. You want to buy singles before the next tournament, because after that prices will jump even higher on the good stuff. I can't speculate a box, because I love cracking packs. Wizards is also sending out a second wave and even more stuff in November, but how limited that run will be is unknown (I am guessing as limited as the oil-slick cards from ONE). Set boosters are the way to go if you're cracking packs. You could sit on a Collector's box now, but I would shop around for the best deal on boxes. The Collector's boxes might dip a little, but they will most likely go up over time
It's so interesting to see all the different content providers level of knowledge on this set. The pronouncement of the words, their knowledge of the lore and the contents of the set! Ultimately though, I'm here to see the bombs get opened! :)
