My father is 76 years old. He has NEVER been into the fantasy genre in any sense. Over the last 15 years, I have tried numerous times to get him to watch LOTR with me to no avail. This past Christmas, I was able to FINALLY convince him to sit down and watch at least The Fellowship Of The Rings (extended version) with me. Within a 5 day span, we finished ALL 3 Extended Versions and my 76 years old father was in tears by the end of it and thanked me for sharing them with him. He told me "I haven't enjoyed a journey like that in a long time".

I wish the entire world was this peaceful and simple.

It brings my heart joy to see so many Tolkien fans in here. I love finding family I didn't know I had.

My husband passed away last year in October 2022. We watched all of the Lord of th Rings and Hobbit movies together a few months before he died. We loved them. I listen to this and I feel like he is near. I hope where he is now looks just like these beautiful mountainsides in the Hobbit. 💚

This is where fantasy truly began in my life, and reality faded away. Now I'm almost 30 years old and realizing that reality is nothing like what my dreams were as a child.

I couldn’t describe in words how much I love these movies, these books, this score. There are no words to convey what the Lord of the Rings means to me.

I will leave this here because it's a good memory. My father and my grandfather were also lovers of Tolkien's world, it was my grandfather who introduced me to this beautiful writings in warm summer vacation days when i was 9 years old lad. We watched the movies together with hype. However not long after five armies did my grandfather passed away into light . Myself and my Dad are sad but also eternally happy that he could live to see the movies in cinemas with us with the orchestra playing. Most importantly the memories we made together that will last more than a lifetime. Now off to nurturing my baby son, i can't wait till he grows up so his grandfather introduces him to Tolkien's world. Life goes on and so will i ❤️😭.

The Shire is my idea of what heaven must be like.

LoTR represents that kind of homesick and love we feel deep in our heart. It is a world of our well felt and thought childhood days, full of harmony, fantasy, and frienship.

My friend and i loved the Lord of the Rings books. We both loved reading the books and when we both turned 12, we could watch the movies (we were 11 at the time). My birthday is on May the 15th, his May the 26th. Time flew by as we were so excited to watch the movies. When i turned 12, i got the dvd's of all the 3 films, but i made a promise to my friend we would watch them together for the first time so, i waited until his 12th birthday. As soon as we came home from school, we made popcorn and watched them all in one sitting. It was an absolute joy to watch them. We both loved gaming so when we heard that there would be coming a LEGO Lord of the Rings game, we "jumped holes in the ceiling" my mom said. We waited for what seemed like YEARS for the game to release. And when the time had finally come, we rushed to the store and bought 1 disc. As soon as we got home we put in my xBox 360 and played it every, single, day. Make homework as soon as you come home frome school? No, play LEGO Lord of the Rings. We completed it in like 2 - 3 weeks. We knew there was an upcoming move from The Hobbit. We also loved reading the books of The Hobbit so when we heard that, we couldn't be more excited. The movie got released 2 or 3 weeks after we completed playing LEGO Lord of the Rings so we didn't have to wait long. Again, we rushed home after school to watch the new movie (our moms had gotten the movies for us). We loved it. We pulled an all-nighter. Around the time when the 2nd The Hobbit movie got released, my friend got sick. We first thought it was just a simple cold so we ignored it. But he didn't got any better so, he went to the doctor and it turned out he got Stage 3 cancer. We of course were in absolute shock. In a short period of time, it got worse and worse and he had to go to the hospital. He couldn't do much except lay in bed (this was around Christmas). The 2nd Hobbit movie had just released but this time, it didn't feel good. We couldn't pull an all-nighter and watch it as we did with the previous ones. As Christmas gift, i have him the 2nd Hobbit movie. We both were so excited to watch it together, even though it had to be different this time (i hadn't seen it yet). We had such joy watching it in the hospital. A few months had passed and things still wouldn't get better. Around our birthdays, things even got so bad he had to move to an other hospital. Things went a little better, but again around November things got really really bad. He sadly passed away, a few weeks before the 3rd movie got released. I couldn't stop crying for weeks. It felt so bad to watch the movie without him. When LEGO The Hobbit came out, i played it on the exact same place as we used to play together. The soundtracks, the books, the movies, the games, it all reminds me of him. Especially the soundtracks. Every year around our birthdays and christmas, i listen to this to feel more connected again. (And Matthew, if you see this, i collected all the coins as you always wanted me to do)

I’m new to the lord of the rings fandom. I’ve watched the movies the first time a few weeks ago with my dad. He loves them and is a fan for so many years like before the movies even came out. Now I’m currently reading the book and I’m so fascinated by this story and how one person is able to create something beautiful like this just in their head

I wish I could go back in time and relive the experience of watching Lord of the Rings for the first time.

When these films came out, my mother was prescribed with a terminally ill disease.. i used to watch them repeatedly, for their message of hope and winning against all odds.. Got me through some tough times.. Love this music so much.. I can hear the the hope in the pipes and horns..

The first time I saw Bilbo Baggins home I fell in LOVE with it. The colors, the homely peacefulness, so quaint and inviting. Something in the Human Spirit longs for that quiet simplicity, it just speaks to your soul and draws you in. Something inside says there it is, that's what I have been seeking, how I long to live there forever. Just shows me what a sham this present life here on earth appears to be. We do not need larger homes, cars, fancy clothes and expensive vacations, those are just things to fill a void that can never really be filled by material wealth. My heart cries out for a more just, loving and peaceful place.. Amen

I dont have words to describe my appreciation to Tolkein's magical work with the Shire, and how Peter Jackson brought it life. Truly amazing.

Whenever my wife and I finally visit this place, I'll be playing this soundtrack/video on my phone with earbuds in my ears, and tears will roll down my face.

I've been listening to this music and waves for many nights to help me rest. I struggle to fall asleep because of pain. I always found LOTR soundtracks so beautiful, it actually hurts

Everything is artistic about Lord of the Rings, the music, actors, costumes, the story, the acting, and graphics. Everything flows and keeps you on edge, indeed the work of Art, Lord of the Rings.

LOTR was the first real movie I watched as a kid and will be the last I watch before I die. My imagination was at its peek and the movies filled it up with an amazing feeling of connection and emotion. I then went on to read the books about six times with the map, appendix and the silmarilion. Now, 5 years later I still havent found a better book or movie. Thank you Tolkien for making this epic and unforgettable masterpiece❤

My best friend of over 20 years suddenly died yesterday. We both loved Lord of the Rings. We made up entire lives for ourselves in Middle Earth. I hope she is in a place similar to the Shire now. Namarie, mellon nin. I love you and I am honoured and grateful to have been loved by you.

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit are my favorite books and movies. And the music is beautiful.

The moment I started watching it was like the world paused and all the chaos stopped with it. A true visual escape the uplifting tones of The Shire will never cease to calm the storm within.

I took a friend of mine to see the Fellowship of the Ring in 2001. He wasn’t a book reader and didn’t go for fantasy. He was so enthralled in it that when Gandalf fell from the Khazad-Dûm bridge against the Balrog, he stood up in the theatre and screamed, ‘NO!’. He was so upset, but where else do you get such an emotional soar from a mainstream film these days.

who else can hear the dialogue during some of these pieces. It also makes me appreciate the art of scoring music and synchronizing it to such dialogue so that it has the perfect balance. LOTR will always be a masterpiece in every respect. There aren't many flawless films like this.

I don’t think there’s been a movie series that makes me cry so much as this masterpiece has. This trilogy is rich full of beautiful music, positive messages, inspiring quotes, sad moments, and scary sequences that convince you that Lord of the Rings isn’t just a movie series. It’s an experience! One that everyone needs to not just see, but feel.

Still the most beautiful music in 2024. Who remembers the day they went first time to cinema to see the first movie.

Breath taking music and photography. I Came across The Hobbit when I was only 16 and fell in love with Tolkien's magical world. That was many years ago, in the late 60s. I read the rest of the series and waited for the movies. You know, one never gets tired of this wonderful fantasy.

i visited this place irl (new zealand) it is honestly such a beautiful and peaceful place, no matter the weather. rainy, windy, sunny...its breathtaking and so peaceful. i love it

I find myself tearing up when I read the first paragraph of the hobbit, and now I full on cry hearing this and seeing it. It's like my heart yearns for a home that doesn't exist. A peace I can't have.

There have been few movies to tear me up, but my god, LoTR was one trilogy that stands above them all. The artistry, the acting, the world building, the music, and the very heart of this entire world makes me tear up inside. It makes me long for a world, a place, a people that we can never truly know. But we get a glimpse of it through the movies. Let this be a message to the future generations. I don't care how old this movie becomes in 30, 40, 70 years, never let this master piece of a series and imagination die.

Timeless piece of music. One can listen and then listen again, and it never sounds the same - each note, each instrument comes alive to envelop you in the entire symphony. Food for thought! Can work for hours and hours with this.

This is where I would like to spend the rest of my life at! The Shire represents a place of peace and tranquility for me and where my new life begins! I will for now travel there one day to escape the craziness of today's endless problems so who is here to join me on this journey?

The music of the shire is the soundtrack to my early teen years, I spend hours upon hours watching, listening and reading LoTR and this will always take me back to the days where life was simple and i didnt have a care in the world. I can still listen to this for hours.

This is 5 hours from where I live, and it is simply breath taking. One of the most beautiful places in our country

I get emotional internally. My Son and I watched them together when they were showing at the movie theaters. Now that I don't see him much anymore. I cherish those precious moments together and him answer my questions. explaining to me. Those moments are mine to keep.

I only started watching/reading lotr/the hobbit about a year and a half a go. Honestly It has changed my perspective on things it has taught me that friendship is important, Love is key, you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it, doesn't matter what you look like or who you are but most importantly it has told me to enjoy life and not waste it. The shire is a heavenly place in my mind. When i think of it it gives me peace and joy. So when i listen to the the shire it feels as though i am about to join a wizard on an adventure through middle earth. So if you see this i want you to listen to the shire and let all your negative thoughts float away and enjoy the peaceful sound of a truly magical place...

When you listen to this music and see these places, it's like you can't be angry with anyone anymore, compassion pervades you and you just want the good for everyone, it's something magical, cool!

This music and visuals appeal to many perhaps because it captures the feeling of simplicity, of happiness and more importantly, the sense of peace that comes with the feeling of hope.

After years of battling "to keep the wolves away" I listen to this and yes it's a very peaceful musical peace that let's me sit back and just relax knowing my battle days are over. Yes I will need to rejoin the masses yet again, but on my terms not ones issued by the man of banks! May all get the chance to sit back and enjoy a moment of peace and rest!

Great memories back in 2018 when I visited this place. I remember myself standing on a cliff there and trying to believe what my eyes are seeing. It is so incredible to the point that you feel it’s a lie, an imagination or it’s a piece of art that been drawn by someone. I strongly recommend anyone who just love nature to visit this place. As the old saying goes “ you only live once “.

I love the shire music, it has a unique ability to make you feel safe and at home.

It's like the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad has happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it'll shine out the clearer. I know now folks in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. I've been there. One of the most beautiful places on earth, this living set. I daydream and fantasize about going back one day with a feast at the Green Dragon at the end. It's absolutely unforgettable and Howard Shore's music breaks your heart for not living there.

I and my 3 sisters watched LOTR trilogy for the first time with our father. He was the one who got all these movies for us and fight with mom to get us free from studying to watch them. Today he goes in for a major heart surgery of which we are very anxious and worried. I am too far away from him to hold his hand. Listening to this music makes all those memories flood back with my father in all of them. Once he is out of the surgery we are gonna watch this trilogy again. It is such a masterpiece.

Loved the books, loved the movies. When I hear the music of the shire I think of baby calves running and playing. Dad just died Sept 16th and hearing this music made me cry even more because I hope he is at peace and the shire and music make me think of peaceful happy things.

Lord of the Rings is the perfect movie. There is no film that have managed to produce in terms of art as much as The Lord of the Rings. When you watch the film, you are totally immersed in this universe.
