This video is a flyover and narration of the Lord Overpass construction project that is taking place in Lowell, Ma.
This was initiated to help accommodate traffic flow from the new Lowell Justice Center and to help improve the Public Transportation System in the city.
This video is a flyover with plans of the current construction phases of the project and final design.
I will be following this video up with a few progress videos throughout the duration of the construction so I hope you tune in to see the progress being made.

Nice video and positive attitude. Unfortunately traffic will be worse and the configuration was changed to only accommodate new Court house.

Nice job on the video. I like Lowell and am glad to see the continued improvement to the quality of life in Lowell. I currently I live in Suisun City CA about 40 miles East of San Francisco. I was born and raise in Lowell. Lowell-Groton Upward Bound 66-70, LHS class of 70. USAF medic 72-92 and Sr HazMat Spec with Solano County Government in Fairfield CA. Currently retired and retired again. No more work grind or schedules to meet as far as Hazardous Materials is concerned. I hear your upgrading LHS also...

I had my opinions on this and then read the comments to see I’m not alone. It doesn’t appear that the traffic pattern will be much different, although it seems the roads will be slightly wider. Still looks confusing, but all I could think of was instead of the “Big Dig”, this is the Lowell version of the “Big Fill In”…..

It was not planned to fix traffic. That exact point was made during a Lowell City Council meeting earlier this year (2020).

Great video.....I just don’t see how this is going to make traffic better. If you don’t need to turn down Appleton st..middlesex st..or up Chelmsford st or the other-side of middlesex st towards the boys club you can just stay under the bridge and drive towards city hall.. but now everyone has to go in the same direction no matter where your going
