Its good to hear Sasa giving General Echo his true ratings, As many tried to wipe out his history. General Echo was a true legend in his own right. RIP Ranking Slackness.
I really really fulljoy this interview from start to finish. I've been telling people that General Trees is the most underrated artist in the history of our music yet still 50% of dancehall artist all emulate his voice.
Yo Muscle big for this one here. Real veteran a give the history for those that was or was not around. Met him in the 80’s and was always cool vibes with him. Bless up ya self Lord Sassafras. 🎤🎧🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This brethren have one of the best voice ever in dancehall. I remembered the combinations with him and Trees, classic!!!. I always loved his voice then and think he still has a great voice. He left dancehall business too early and should have still continued voicing records in the 80s and 90s. Muscles you are the Don for bringing forth this interview.
To Muscle and all the other dancehall journalists, please continue doing a great job. I'm from Trinidad and grew up on dancehall culture. These interviews gives great insight and perspective to such a great history
This man's memory is impeccable, being in the business for so long. I guess it's because he don't drink nor smoke. He's also very honest in his reasoning because a lot of artists don't admit that they have being defeated. I hope you can recoup everything that's belongs to you while you are still able to enjoy it.
Ever time I hear these legend from the seventies It brings goose bump,I remember Sasa from his day's with soul expert disco he had the whole kng 10 as it was then eating out of his hand maverley, duhaney park, Patrick city,Washington garden etc those parties were great thanks to Sasa fras. ROOTS IS THE BEST TUNE FROM SASA.
This legend here is my uncle Im a very proud niece. Seeing how much love he gets, is warming to see❤️❤️ he is a great inspiration to the culture and it shows !
May my cuz Garton McKnight aka Picka Mouth. May his Soul RIP he was a true fan and friend of General Trees and Sassafras. He use to bring them to St Mary Lewis store with Black Scropio. Some wicked dance.
The Legend! Himself. Mr. Lord sassa Fross. I have been hearing about him since me a little bwoy. Nice to officially heard his story and meet him virtually! Jah guide.
Bless up the great horseman Lord Sassafras, muscle the history reasoning get better and better. Lord Frasss love how you big up the great doctor Early B. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Jamaica should definitely do something special for the real general, General Trees never listen a interview and don't hear a next DJ don't mention trees.
Big up Muscle. Thanks for digging up and bringing to our remembrance one of our iconic and stalwart DJs Sassafrass. I am especially blessed by this because I grew up in a house just across from his on Denver Crescent in Maverley. I am surprised he is still looking so young and sprightly and retain such good memory. Blessings.
The great & much spoken about Lord Sassafrass - every interview which chronicles the origins of toasting hails this man at the foundation of it - Scorpio, Irish and chin, prince jammy and many more - hail the great lord Sassafrass

I remembered working with Fras at a 9-5 job in 🇨🇦 many years ago. Yeah, it's true...the 9-5 stuff. He actually told me he was Sassafras. Great interview!
Some of the best clashes I ever witness was Scorpio vs Virgo in Skateland. Scorpio vs Gemini in Skateland .Scorpio vs Jammy’s in Skateland and Stereo One vs Scorpio on White Hall Ave
@@tripledtv5464 yes for real I link with Ricky Stereo all the time that dance with Scorpio vs Stereo one was the 1st time it Stichie and Wolfman deejay on the sound
@@peeba7921 No , they been working on Stereo One long before that clash. The first time Stitchie and Wolf man DJ on Stereo One was one Wednesday night at our headquarters # 2 at the top of Margon Lane in Grants Pen .(Headquarters # 2 was 29A Grants Pen Rd).Ricky was telling Clifton ( the Boss) about Stitchie and Wolfe man ,how good they are ,so Clifton told Ricky bring them to headquarters # 2 Wednesday or Friday night because we play on the those 2 nights. That Wednesday night Ricky brought them .The place was empty and when Stitchie and Wolf man touch the mic and Stitchie took mixer from my brother who was the selector and started mixing the lawn got so packed we people from all over Grants Pen community. After they left Stitchie and Wolf man was the big talk of Grants Pen.They were hired immediately .Every Wednesday and Friday night the HQ was so packed. This promoter started using Stereo one for his dance at 70 Mannings Hill Rd and that lawn so packed and they were Stereo One ,Stitchie and crew started to get real famous .They same promoter , promoted the Stereo One Vs Scorpio dance .The night we also had Bammy man on Stereo One.GThrees and had no chance against Stereo One that night. They are so much history I came give to you about Stereo One .I talk Ricky on regular Basic because we are family 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Back in the days, riding my bicycle from Cockburn Pen (Mr. Campbell garage) to home in Meadowbrook, I would stop at the ball field by Marverly and watch Sassafrass playing soccer.
Jah know Fardah Muscle! You done it again Big Boss. 1.57 mins of pure Ital Reasonings. Sassafrass dropped gem after gem. It was a real eye opener and it was so easy to connect the dots from Sass’s & Ranking Trevor style And delivery to so many artists such as Nicodemus and SuperCat and right the way up to many DJs today. Fantastic interview. I just hope whoever the folks that hand out the media awards are keeping a close eye on your works. Outstanding my Brudda
‼️‼️🔥I personally know Sasa he lived at MArverly and I lived at Hughenden ave. Good yute! I love how he’s honest tho. Other DJs lie and tell how dem win and kill everything. He also big up nuff DJ and give them their props. Unlike nuff a dem‼️
Real Talk Sassa! Ranking Trevor is the Boss, him teach I nuff things. Muscle, have nuff fi learn. But I'm loving his reasonings with the veterans....this was my era early 70's to early 80's. Great Times! Valve amplifiers! Mi and Jr. Demus (Keble Ranking) & Scrappy were the finalist, 1st & 2nd for St. Mary. I didn't attend in Kingston coz they put the announcement on the radio the same day (Friday) and I had prior appointment.
@@Wilcoranking Greetings Norman, No, I went by the name Harry Shine (Governor), I'm from Free Hill. Admiral Tibet was my neighbour, we run Torpedo sound with Senator D (Tubbys) & Sparrow Pedo as the selectors. Jah Worm, Jah Buzz, Jr Demus (Keble Ranking), Slim Brown & Apache Scratchy knows me well. Are you from St. Mary?
Great job Muscle! You're doing valuable work for the culture. Have you ever ask any of your 80s DJs about working with the late great Kilamajaro DJ named Jim Kelly. He was an awesome DJ for Jaro but I think he was shot pretty young. Blessings.
This man right here,is the true and living example that smoking n drinking is really bad for ya health, big up Sass.. I would like to know I you sing a song called,Mi buk up in a road block?
Muscle i think Sassafrass got to Scorpio Sound in the late 70s like 1978/79 actually not early 70s ...because i heard a Soul Express tape and a Scorpio one , and both tapes are from that same year there!!! Big up

Over 30 years ago DJs took pot shot at Sassafras' Poco Drum tune -- either Nicodemus, Super Cat or both: "Dem no want Sassafras a too much obeah him a call dung".
