Bro, Lord X can erase your existence. And by that I don’t mean something like using a beam that erases existence, but rather going out of the game/animation, looking through the files, finding Doom Guy’s file, select it, put it in the Computer’s trash bin and deleting it.

The Icon of Sin is immortal there but in the base game ending it’s permanently killed but the Doomslayer doesn’t have the crucible blade anymore as they stabbed it into their brain and snapped it off the handle. If someone removes the Blade from the Icon of Sin it’ll just resurrect(Well what’s left of it).

They are tecnically the same character. But different versions. Doomguy is his name from Doom to Doom 64. Then he went somehow to Argent d'Nur where he was able to ascend to divinity thanks to the seraphim. If i am correct that is when he was named as the Doom Slayer

That is the lore. He does not have to "prove" his own lore. Even if he did it would just be stupid. What do you want the author to do? Should he just arbitrarily have X create millions of pocket multiverses and destroy them? He is in a horror story (it isn't scary but that isn't the point) not a fighting story.
