Wright (power) is all about brute force and the might of the military. Lefte (wisdom) is all about tactics and planning things out. King (courage) puts himself in danger to save his daughter without a second thought.
It’s so refreshing to hear that you don’t care about the timeline. Is it cool when the stories have hints of past games? Yes. Is it nothing but a headache trying to fit all the pieces together? Yes.
My favorite new lore is that Zelda has superhuman durability far greater than that of Link. She takes no fall damage. She can still fall into bottomless pits. However she is able to fall far further than Link and takes no damage.
AHEM If I may correct you, Link also takes no fall damage in any top down or side scrollers, heck Link can even fall through multiple floors of the Hebra Tower in A Link to the Past and ends up just fine. And Skyward Sword Link can also fall into Bottomless Pits and into Quicksand without taking damage

You see Impa and Zelda rinding the horse out of Hyrule Castle with Ganon riding His Black Horse chasing after them after you return with The 3 Pearls. The Green and Red Jars in Links House in the left bottom corner are the Magic Bottles from WindWaker.
Another thing about Echoes of Wisdom is that it add another layer to the Legend of Zelda lore: the 'Creation of the World story is what makes this Zelda game so DAMN rich ever since Hylia’s struggle against Demise in Skyward Sword. Each version of Ganon/Ganondorf are indeed the incarnations of Demise and the King of Evil is sought to conquered/dominate Hyrule, but those are just baby steps compared to Null who wants to destroy everything and devouring everything into nothingness is HELLA scary. And given the Kingdom of Hyrule another purpose as a barrier created by the three Golden Goddess (Din, Nayru, and Farore) to keep this ancient evil entity contained is INSANE! I get a feeling we maybe get to see Null again in the future since this ancient evil entity has been around since before time began.
If you talk to condé while wearing the stamp suit he’ll comment on how Zelda looks like a monster he’s seen before, and that he tried to catch it but it took off.
We gotta chat more about how Null creates echoes of past baddies so old that no one recognized them - Ganon is rarely mentioned by name by the characters. He’s an Ocarina of Time fanboy, apparently 😂 Also, interesting that Null creates cracks in the world, and the evil well of monsters that terrorized the land before the events of Skyward Sword came from… a crack in the ground. Was that Null’s first attempt to subsume the world after his imprisoning? And when that failed, to curse the land to forever have periods of weakness, in hopes that one of those will be his chance to break free?

I truly think that vaati and null have connection through the dark kind of magic that they use. We even see Vaati turn into a dark ball with arms that is similar to Null. I think that Vaati is able to tap into Null’s power and is later further possessed by him which is what allows him to take on null’s shape.
A cool detail about Link the video doesn't mention (if it does, sorry, I miss it, hahaha), is that Link trained in the Sleep Dojo at Kakariko Village. The final prize is his green tunic (and irrc the master there mentions another student as capable as Zelda).
Weird that your Zelda keeps sweating and fanning herself in the gerudo region. Mine never took any heat damage or showed signs of wear in any part of the gerudo map
One big mystery remains unexplained: the fate of Ganon. We only see Ganons echo. But every echo has an original. So what happened to original Ganon? Where is he? Has he been stolen away a long time ago and thus dissolved in the silent realm? Possible, but very unlikely because he should have the same power as Link and Zelda, who can exist in that dimension without turning into immobile statues.
It's possible Null simply made an echo of Ganon while he was trapped in the Dark Realm at some point. But there's also a compelling fan theory that Demise and his demon forces were created by Null to destroy life on the surface world. If so, given that Ganondorf is an incarnation of Demise's hatred and Ganon is a manifestation of Demise's demonic power through Ganondorf, Null may simply have the ability to create echoes of Ganon because that power ultimately originates from Null. Especially since there's a other theory that Ganon is actually a form of Demise since he has appeared in multiple different forms throughout the ages and the ones in Skyward Sword are just two of many.
@@nyancorp Yeah, but I doubt Ganon, stripped of the Triforce of Power and weakened from his latest beatdown courtesy of Link, could survive a direct confrontation with Null if the eldritch being was gunning for him.
Just want to point out, only Skyward Sword Zelda is ever explicitly called a reincarnation of Hylia, while other Zeldas are said to bear the bloodline of Hylia, meaning they're merely Hylia's descendants. It would also create an awkward situation in Spirit Tracks, since Tetra is still alive while her granddaughter is the reigning princess.
I think the Zelda information is correct, but Tetra isn’t alive by the events of spirit tracks, the only one of the crew to be confirmed to still be living is Niko. And Hyrule Historia confirms that the Zelda in Spirit Tracks is actually the great great grandchild of Tetra.
I imagine we'll see Null again in smaller ways in future games. Like a section of the map having areas where you can traverse the void. Similar to LttP or Twilight Princess, it could transform you or somethin', albeit, a small section than in those games. Maybe not the most interesting theory on how it'll come back, but it's a formula that we're familiar with.
I am curious on how did Null did create an Echo form of Ganon. Was this evil entity is aware of the King of Evil’s existence and use that form to capture to lure Link into a trapped. If we stopped and think about this, Null is aware that both the Hero and the Priestess will pose a bigger threat to if the two are together. It may be plausible of why he has to let Link be sick into the Void, then be trapped in the Still World throughout the game. That is the only theory I can come up with as I played through the game without spoiling too much surprises after the Game’s release.
To me the map similarities are the deciding factor for the timeline placement. Not sure if it's post ALBW or not but surely post ALttP with the rundown state of the temples.
To be honest, I prefer that the World would be devoured by the Nothingness than ruled by Demons finding pleasure in Torture. I prefer Oblivion over Eternal Hell.

The fact that everyone thought this game was going to be relatively light-hearted, but it ended with one of the scariest and most insane lore implying final bosses in the entire series. more ancient than even demise's curse
I have two possible ideas on where Echoes of Wisdom takes place in the timeline. One that makes narrative sense, and the other makes logical sense. It either takes place inbetween ALBW and Zelda 1, or after TOTK. The first one could be true because the map is an expansion of ALTTP’s map with many similarities and 1-1 remakes, and several dungeons from ALTTP being visible. The biggest proof being that according to Zelda 1, Hyrule had a long era of peace before Zelda was placed under a sleep, and that era of peace could’ve began with EoW’s ending. Although the one thing holding me off from saying this is Death Mountain becoming Hebra Mountain. This isn’t a simple change for the sake of it because the layout matches perfectly with Death Mountain from ALTTP. And it would be weird to suggest that the lava volcano froze over, and then got hot again in the span of ALBW and Zelda 1. Then I remembered something that was off to me about TOTK. There was lava in the depths under its Hebra Mountain. So I think it’s possible that overtime the lava under Hebra Mountain expanded and the old Death Mountain froze over after TOTK, leading to their places being switched in EoW.
Death mountain has two names in the Japanese version in Alttp and Albw, in Alttp in the Light world it is called Hebra mountain and in the Dark realm it is Death mountain and in Albw in Hyrule it is Hebra mountain and in Lorule it is Death mountain.
The Bread Pirate is very upset that they couldn't pull the hood down. River and Sea Zora share a common ancestor. Oren is apparently the descendant of Ruto who are different Zoras. I had a feeling that I wouldn't have too much trouble going into the Gerudo Town since I was Zelda. 17:55 B*tch, I'm fabulous. I think it takes place after A Link Between Worlds since the desert dungeon from that game is in ruins in Echoes of Wisdom. You can't even enter it. River Zoras are also prominent in the Downfall Timeline even though they were in Four Swords Adventures for some reason. The three golden goddesses descended upon the chaos that was Hyrule and that chaos was Null. I don't think a hollow planet would have a magnetic field though.
If I could have one little lore question answered, from this game, it would be how/when did Null consume Ganon? I can't properly articulate how excited I had initially been to FINALLY be getting another game with Ganon; not the Gerudo King Gdorf, with his human motives, just using Ganon as one of a number of phases, in his boss fight, but actually Ganon, the pig demon sorcerer, with the trident, like from the oldest Zelda games. It would be accurate to say that I have become "burned out" on Gdorf. I certainly want Ganon to be the big bad of the game, as opposed to say Vaati, Majora, or others, but I want Ganon, as ge was from my childhood, when Zelda became my favorite series, and so discovering that this game's Ganon was "just another boss" of a bigger foe kind of let me down, but it also left me wondering, what happened to the actual Ganon, prior to this game? Hiw did he encounter Null, and where is he sealed, if he isn't actively helping the monster? I was so happy to see him, before he got bizarrely "the Ganondorf treatment", for fans of TP, and replaced by another boss, but I wish he featured more in the game, or we could know more about him, at this time frame.
I always loved the Deku in Majora's Mask, and was thrilled with their return. I like how, just as all Gorons are male and all Gerudo are female, all Deku are now nonbinary.

Did he disappear like beings do when they end up in a rift, as Tri stated would happen to beings that stayed in the Rifts too long? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I think people are sleeping HARD on the lore around Null. From the story perspective, this isn’t some Evil Blob Monster, this is a Cosmic Force that is a victim of Divine Intervention and is forced to live in a state that it’s constantly fighting against. If Null is canon throughout all the Zelda games, that blows open a completely new perspective if its tied to Ganon.
Based on the low Hyrulian population, the familiarity between the royal family and the citizens, the other races not giving any deference to Zelda when her identity is revealed, Volvagia being alive, no indication of a previous hero, the three goddesses being connected to the land, and the Triforce being hidden from mortal knowledge, I get the idea that the game takes place extremely early.
Volvagia is a species according to the Encyclopedia, and a second one appears in Zelda 2 (chronologically later than OOT). The Triforce is never mentioned in Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom. It's possible that it could also take place much later in the timeline. I'm inclined to believe it's earlier in the timeline, but I can also see this as a sequel/prequel/something around the time that Four Swords Adventures takes place, which is another game where the Triforce seems to be forgotten.
I subscribe to the James Bond model of continuity for Zelda-there doesn’t need to be one all-encompassing timeline that you shoehorn everything into. It’s a series of stories with similar themes and motifs, but they don’t necessarily have any bearing on each other (except in cases where it’s explicitly invoked in the narrative itself, like the Wild Era games). This also resolves important discrepancies, like wholesale changes in the geography of Hyrule between ostensibly-linked games. Not to say it’s not fun to speculate where it *could* fit in a timeline, but I get the idea that the “canonical” timeline on Nintendo’s website is more about “people keep asking this and we need something to point to” than some kind of grand plan for the narrative of the whole universe.
That's possible but they called the Triforce by its proper name in A Link Between Worlds. In Echoes of Wisdom, they refer to it as the Primal Energy, and it is a closely guarded secret that few know of. It doesn't seem likely to me that not only would it go from unknown to a central part of Hyrulean mythology, under a different name, in a single lifetime.

Though i wonder when within that section of time period did primal energy switch into the Triforce? it could be that primal energy faded out language wise, called it triforce and then went back to primal energy again near the time maybe before link between worlds takes place? I don't know if i remember correctly but i think i remember link between worlds taking place a few hundred years after the events of link to the past? that could be plausible for language to fade in and out within a few hundred years but what do i know.

@@majesticespeon3126 A Link to the Past does take place about 100 years before A Link Between Worlds. That was always the intent. I don't think Echoes of Wisdom can take place before A Link to the Past due to the culture being so different (Triforce isn't known outside of the Royal Family and has a different name, which wasn't the case in either Ocarina of Time or A Link to the Past). It seems to share more in common with Four Swords Adventures, like having River Zora and Deku Scrubs, mostly unknown Triforce, etc.

Zelda in Echoes of Wisdom is not Hylia. None of the Zelda's after Skyward Sword are Hylia, they are her mortal descendants. Only the first Zelda was Hylia and as far as we know, she goes back to being Hylia after the end of her mortal life. This Zelda changing behind a Hylia statue is definitely a nod, tho.
Yep! And there are points in history where multiple Zeldas are alive at the same time, and they can't both be the same person. Tetra is alive in Spirit Tracks while her granddaughter is ruling New Hyrule. Zelda's mother who also had divine powers died when she was about 8 according to Breath of the Wild's lore. The Zelda in Zelda 2 has been in an eternal sleep, unchanging, for hundreds of years while the Zelda in Zelda 1 was alive. So if all Zeldas were reincarnations, these events just won't work.
@@Chris-gx1ei At the beginning of the game, Zelda says that Tetra and Link ran off on one last adventure before they plan to retire for good. It's never mentioned that she died yet. My guess is just that Zelda knows Tetra still has her powers as a member of the Royal Family.

Yes, a re-used though slightly altered map from LTTP, but why? Is there something lore-like there? Maybe the same space thousands of years later? Temples we traversed previously now lie in ruins. What was Nintendo trying to tell us with this? Or was it just re-using an old map to make things easy and quick?

If they do a Minish Cap remake, I hope they keep the pixel art. Maybe do something similar to HD-2D, (like Octopath), but with the same pixel art style as the original Minish Cap. I don't know, I really love the art style of Minish Cap and I feel like making it full 3D, the game would lose something. Maybe it's just me!

Since I enjoyed playing Echoes of Wisdom, I hoped Nintendo and the Zelda team can make a a Torna-esque TOTK side story for the Nintendo Switch 2 (or the successor of Nintendo Switch) where we get to see more Zelda’s journey in the Era of Hyrule’s Founding, adding layers of the Zonai origin, extra contents from the Master Works (such as Hylia entrusting the Sacred Stones to the Zonai), an linear storytelling that has more focused on the characters, and the Imprisoning War (or Sealing War in Japanese) with Princess Zelda as a playable main character.
That is what I was hoping for in Tears of the Kingdom since we have two different time periods set in Hyrule: present (The Upheaval) and the past (Age of Hyrule’s Founding and Imprisoning War). I really want to see more of her journey in the distant past since I saw a Doujinshi of a Sage of Lightening appeared before Rauru of asking forgiveness for Ganondorf’s actions and joined him in defecting their formal king turned Demon King. While Rauru is very resented for her request after losing his wife, Zelda is grown concerned due to her attachment to the Gerudo people since Urbosa is a friend of her mother. A stoy expansion with a linear plot and a playable Princess Zelda is what should’ve been if TOTK had an expansion pack.
The way you pinpoint your observations on Hyrule Castle’s secret makes me enjoyed the game more! 5:07 I like how Echoes of Wisdom acknowledge the existence of loftwing or paying homage of Skyloft and the history of Hylia from Skyward Sword. Their wings had become a part of Hyrule’s insignia. 6:05 And another is when Zelda changed her appearance behind the Hylia Statue hints a symbolic fact she still carries the blood of the Goddess herself.

The series title *TheLegend of Zelda* does not needed to be reverse. Since Link has always been the protagonist for four decades, Zelda is a main protagonist too and deserves better since ST, SS, BOTW, AOC, and TOTK treated her as a MC before we have Echoes of Wisdom.

If the echo of Ganon puts Zelda in a crystal, and Link fights the echo of Ganon, and Zelda later fights the echo of Ganon, then where is Ganon? Wouldn’t there have to be a Ganon in order to have an echo?
It catches you and then if you try to not run it during the water scene you have to restart the entire thing from the very beginning were you run inside the temple again
Even though they have the brief moments such as Link rushing to see Zelda again before Null imprisoned him or Zelda wear her hero’s hoodie to disguise herself, it sad that she doesn’t know him. Especially how Link lost his voice at a very young age. I hope their relationship is very mutual and not platonic since I shipped Zelink. Nintendo needs to let this iconic gaming couple be a debut from here on!
Okay so I know it’s probably just for plot convenience but when you think about it I’m the beginning of the game Zelda shouldn’t be able to see tri I’m the castle dungeon because unless I missed where she fell into a rift this should not be possible
My timeline theory is that EoW takes place in the end timeline before the Zonai descend upon Hyrlue, and I have a few reasons for that. First: Zelda in EoW is called the Priestess of Wisdom. Sonia was also a priestess before she married Rauru and became a queen. It's possible that the title of priestess stuck and that Hyrule went from being a monarchy to a theocracy. Second: The might crystals could be the power source for the Sheikah tech in BotW and TotK. They are blue like shrines and towers when they are activated. Zelda's in her swordfighter form is covered in a blue flame, like the blue flame used to power the ancient tech labs. Lueburry, a Sheikah scientist, is able to make weapons with might crystals like how Robbie can make weapons. Also, Lueburry used might crystals to make a machine that constantly gives off energy. So it wouldn't be that much of a stretch if similar machines were used a a battery for the Divine Beasts and other Sheikah tech. Third: The Triforce in EoW is called the Prime Energy. The original name could have been forgotten, so people just called it by a descriptive term. Since the name of the Triforce is forgotten, it's possible that the Triforce could be completely forgotten by the time of BotW. Also, EoW can give two answers of what happened to the Triforce in BotW and TotK. One answer is based on Zelda having the Triforce in BotW and TotK. In EoW, Zelda received the three Sanctions from the Golden Goddesses and proved herself worthy of having the Triforce. So now, all of her reincarnations inherit the Triforce. The second answer is based on Zelda not having the Triforce in BotW and TotK. In EoW, we last see the Triforce being used by Tri to fix all the damage that Null did. Afterwards, all of the Tris return to the goddess, and Tri could have taken the Trifoce with her.
Those are some solid points you make there a lot of rumors were going around stating that this game was before a link to the past but that doesn’t make any sense lol
I think Echoes is before Ocarina. There's a lot of reasons, such as the appearances of the guardian deities, which Hyrulean races are present, the little references and general similarities to Minish Cap, and so on. I'm just unsure if I wanna place it before or after Minish. Maybe before, so Ganon's name has more time to fade from memory, and have several of the cultures go back to being in strife with one another, like the Gerudo vs Hylians. I'm also just sick of putting things in the fallen timeline lmao. The existence of the fallen timeline annoys me in the first place, the fact that so many of the games are in it really doesn't help :P I also think it'd be cool to have more games taking place before the split.
My Opinion on Timeline placement Speculation: So given the large amount of ignorance the residents of hyrule have on the aspects of the reincarnation of the princess, hero and demise's hatred the clearest point to place echoes of wisdom for me is post WW a part of this ties to me believing that the "past" Zelda is sent to in TotK is also post WW, Due to Link & Tetra/Zelda head off to found New Hyrule the hyrule that the king "floods" still exists and would eventually cease flooding and the cultures would once again descend into hyrule their entire cultural system changed, and we know that atleast once or twice in Hylian history the king has had more than one child or there have been two Zelda's in existence at the same time meaning it's more than likely the bloodline of the goddess has something of a back-up bloodline should Zelda go to another region to be activated, which would lead to Sonia, who then falls for Rauru then the past part of TotK happens and then some time later echoes of wisdom occurs having remnants of zonal architecture but not addressing them directly meaning they've died out, no one remembers the title of lost woods or who Ganon is explains some of the terrain change except the mountains which I can only conclude both are volcanoes and Eldin is the Hylian word for hot/Active and Hebra means Cold/Dormant because even assuming this is based around the second castle the mountain geography can't be reconciled
I believe this game falls in the new timeline BoW and TotK established. One where many events from the previous games happened but not quite exactly in the same manner
My best guess is that the Rito are across the mountain the older yeti brother was traveling to. The Rito are not anywhere on either side of the mountains so the only logical place is that they are in a farther mountain that we couldn’t get unless we flew and we see exactly how we could get there with the older brother on a hot air balloon. It’s either that or the Rito simply don’t exist in the downfall timeline.
