Honestly, I feel that Bileguts may have been designed as a very early on in the terraforming process. As it looks like to be the perfect machine for harvesting large scales of resources from large city areas, (where resources would be most concentrated) . However, as time passed, and resources became more spread-out smaller acquisition class like the glint hawks and scrapers became more efficient and replaced the bilegut in areas where alot of harvesting had already been done. This is just a theory tho as there is no hard evidence.
The machines that I miss the most from ZD are definitely the Trampler and Sawtooth... With the new and improved melee mechanics from Forbidden West, Sawtooths would be a wonderful combat "partner" given his size, agility and overall range of attacks. Sure... A little bit of the same can be with a Ravager, but... Ravagers has that "electric dome" they release when we get too close, conversely the Sawtooth was like melee only through and through.
I liked the Sawtooth a lot too and I hope it returns and replaces the Ravager (which I'm not a fan of). As for the Trampler, I hope it isn't brought forward. It already felt redundant having both it and the Broadhead, and now there's the Bistleback which fills a similar role.
I like to think that Hephestus suggested use in the ACA3 Scarabs as the new scavenger machines but Gaia's Predecessor was like Nope let's nerf it. And the "Sting Spawn" and the "Bilegut" models was made.
Not sure about anyone else, but I was kinda disappointed with how few new machines we got in the DLC. The bilegut is cool but I wanted at least one new thunderjaw sized machine, I'm sure they're not out of ideas so was kinda anticlimactic
Maybe with an expansion of underwater navigation(most likely with Waterwings, but don't know how good it'd be if it was treated similarly to Sekiro's giant koi)
That would be amazing but I don't think they'd do it. They'll hopefully add some sort of Shark, make the Slaughterspine able to swim, and maybe an Octopus, but I don't see why they'd do a Whale. Either way though they'd have to develop underwater combat.
@@nameynamd9212It better not be with Waterwings. They're only a thing because Burning Shores was rushed. They're a super lame copy of Sunwings and are easily one of the worst machine designs in the series.
I liked Bileguts and Stingspawn a lot but Waterwings are easily one of the worst machines in the series. I get that Burning Shores was rushed, but it never should have been. Waterwings are just Sunwings with a different head, wing texture, and like 4 swapped components. Diving underwater is cool but it needed to be a completely different machine.
The entire game has some of the most lazy redesigns. Watcher-Burrower Lancehorn-fanghorn Scrapper-scrounger Tramplers replaced by Bristlebacks The main gripe I have is the lazy "variants" created by just slapping various elemental canisters. In the first game, you had to hunt a specific machine to get the elemental canister. In the sequel, it's like " you wanted a metal bite component ??? Too bad these are the fire variants.
