Can we appreciate that in the cutscene of meeting Godfrey, we can see that he has the guidance of grace pointing towards the tarnished, showing that he is the tarnished Hoarah Loux and we are the boss in his way.
@LSB44446
@LSB44446 2 года назад
It's such an epic detail, and also shows that we are puppets of the Greater Will if we listen to the guidance of grace. It doesn't care who takes place as consort, just that someone worthy does. What I don't understand is why the Grace points him to us, yet won't let anyone in until the tree is burned? It seems counterintuitive
@markiekunplays
@markiekunplays 2 года назад
@@LSB44446 the exact entity blocking you from entering the tree is actually radagon, as seen by his unique cross pattern rune design on the tree's seal blocking entry. The bigger question is why does Radagon, a devotee of the golden order not follow it's direction and instead choose to block you out?
@ligmafigma9631

@@markiekunplays I read this theory that Marika split off the part of her which is unconditionally loyal to the elden ring and that became radagon. That's why radagon tries to repair the ring after Marika destroys it, and when you confront Marika he takes over to fight you. Also explains why he seduced rennala and left her suddenly.
@markiekunplays
@markiekunplays 2 года назад
@@ligmafigma9631 yeah but the thing is we know that the greater will itself actually wants us to get there to possibly mend the ring and become elden lord, which means that if radagon was completely loyal to the greater will, he would heed its wishes and allow us in to mend it especially after we had just shown we are worthy after fighting Godfrey, another worthy of becoming elden lord.

@@markiekunplays Its Marika who wants us to become elden lord and and free her from her captivity. That is why all the cool shit is Marika statues and Churches of Marika and guidance of grace. Two fingers, Elden beast etc. has lost contact with greater will, its no longer there doing anything.

Radahn is the most tragic yet wholesome characters in this game. Spent years of his life to learn gravity magic, first to still be able to ride on his horse and as a secondary effect protecting the world from the horrors of the stars. Protecting us and his horse even after his corruption from rot turned him into a monstrous beast, only to lose control of the stars when he falls in battle for the very last time, A beautiful gigachad giving us a new definition of never giving up.

@@ChangedCauseYT-HateFoxNames not only that but he literally hasn't done ANYTHING to help Renalla and her condition, unlike her two other kids. And even worse? He valued his allegiance to the Golden Order and the Greater Will more than his own family and and the things vital to their faith and dynasty - Renalla and her astrological ancestors were guided by the stars and their movement is quite literally responsible for their fate. So by halting their movement, he pretty much left his family unable to follow their destiny, leading to stagnation. He is just an ignorant, self absorbed, blindly faithful fool that was just lucky enough to be born to two demigods/gods.
@mrrd4444
@mrrd4444 2 года назад
The entire family is so tragic, even Marika. She shattered the Elden Ring because she was angered with the Greater Will in the end, and her sending Godfrey away might have already been a sign of that since SHE took his grace, not necessarily the Greater Will. Her first son is murdered, her second and third Omen children were cast out (we don't know if she chose to cast them out or if it was part of the Greater Will and contributed to her anger against it). Radagon, who is part of her regardless of how they started, fell in love and had children, and he had to leave Rennala for Marika, and it's unknown whether either of the two halves of them actually wanted this. Clearly he loved Rennala, even gifted her a Great Rune (which is no small thing since it gives her such power over the world). Marika made their children demigods, whether out of necessity or whether she shared the feelings of love that Radagon had for their children, it's unknown. Then every single one of those demigods fell to ruin too, except maybe Ranni. Rykard for (justifiably) being against the Greater Will, Radahn for fighting his sister FOR the Greater Will. And then you get Miquella and Malenia, both of whom were cursed from the start. Miquella wanted to make a new and fairer world but was kidnapped by his brother Mohg before he could complete his own Haligtree, and Malenia was left alone to rot away. I guess it's not that strange they saw misfortune though. The fact that Radagon made VOWS in the Church of vows to honour Rennala then abandoned her... like the wise turtle pope said, breaking vows can lead to misfortune. And not only did Radagon break his vow to Rennala, before that Marika seems to have broken her vow to Godfrey.

@mrrd4444
@mrrd4444 2 года назад
@@tinnasell4161 it's unknown. Everyone has their own theories and mine have changed over time. They were definitely separate in mind and motivation at certain points, especially because Marika wanted to destroy the Elden Ring and Radagon wanted to repair it. Three major theories are 1) Radagon was separate from Marika until they got married and fused 2) Radagon and Marika have always been the same person and hiding it, but the Greater Will mind controlled one or both of them at certain points (to explain their differences in views) 3) Radagon separated from Marika / was made from her somehow (think Adam and Eve and the rib) and was his own person for a while but when he was called back by the Greater Will he had to re-fuse to her, but because they were so distinct the fusing was imperfect

Not mentioned in this video Renalla was the queen of the Full Moon, thus the Full Moon in the sky. Ranni was the Dark Moon in the sky, both visible from the last area of Ranni's quest. Ranni's attire was inspired by a sort of mentor when she was younger, and Blaidd is to Ranni as Maliketh is to Marika, a shadow to the Empyrean born under the golden order. One detail not made clear is at what point the sun might be involved with anything, as we see it is even conceptualized and recognized into the game. We see ghosts reference the sun, and even Dung Eater's armor reference the sun in relations to an order he supposedly once believed in, further expressed symbolism in the rings of it in the description.

The Sun brings true death. The Frenzied Flame ending is basically the power of the sun conceptualised on earth. If we take Rannis power as the moon, her opposite half, Malenia would be the power of the sun as the Gloam eyed Queen. All her followers, the godskin would use black fire and have fire as their power. Makes sense that the Dung eater references the sun since it has the power to burn everything and is the opposite to the moon. The fact that the Erd tree burns only with the power of the rune of death, there must be some sort of connection there.

This is actually quite debated by the community. The description remembrance of the Rot Goddess states "Miquella and Malenia are *both the children of a single god. As such they are both Empyreans, but suffered afflictions from birth. One was cursed with eternal childhood, and the other harbored rot within." Also there is the dialogue from Gowry, Millicents Father that says: "Queen Marika and her King Consort Radagon were blessed with twin demigods, and Malenia was one of them. She was born an Empyrean, carrying the scarlet rot." As Ranni, we know her being the daughter of Radagon and Rennala she can't be an Empyrean, also we don't know the origins behind the other two Empyreans that we know about, Marika and the Dusk Eyed Queen. If you follow the logic behind the description and the dialogue someone may assume they mean *exclusively* people born from one god can be an Empyrean. That isn't stated here. It is only said they are automatically Empyreans *because* they are born from one single god. We know that every Empyrean is chosen by and Outer God (not only the Greater WIll as you've commented) but it doesn't mean that any child can be chosen to become one. The other side of the debate can also argue that Ranni was not Rennala's true daughter but Radagon gave it to her as a 'gift' in the Great Rune of the Unborn and Marika and The Dusk Eyed Queeb were both also somehow born by a single god However it could seem to be quite forced this theory. This is as far as we know and can discuss, there are no much information about it. We have to wait maybe for future DLCs

@@kira6353 Is it possible that the fact that Malenia and Miquella are born from a single god (Marika/Radagon) has nothing to do with being Empyreans at all? The wording of that item description seems like it could mean that having a single godly parent caused them to be born with their afflictions. The whole "children of a single god" thing could be referring to their afflictions, and not to their status as Empyreans.

Surprisingly, not as much as dark souls. It is actually not very deep, all things considered. Frankly, the only truly deep lore in the game has yet to be covered, and I hope the DLC wraps it up big time. The outer gods being fleshed out more, and the star lore being delved into. Without those two things, there really isn't that much going on apart from a family falling out as they try to go for power (shards) after their "mother/grandmother" shatters the elden ring in a reaction over her son's death. The entire story is just marika having told her kids to do what they want to do, but make sure you do 'something'. Then when one dies, she takes a drastic measure and leaves it up to some kind of fate. Meanwhile, all other outer gods apart from the greater will seem to be absent, at least until you force malenia into phase 2 and is seemingly used as a vessel by one (for no reason?).

It's been puzzling me how Radagon and Merika are the "same person". My best theory is that when Radagon left Rennala and journey to become second lord , the elder beast transferred from Merika to Radagon using him as a new host to safeguard against Merikas soon-to-be emprisonment (presuming the Greater Will had foresight of this) within the Erd tree.... so it's not so much that Merika = Radagon , but more that everything Merika once was (curtesy of the beast/greater will) is now "one with" it's new host Radagon. Thus perhaps could tie the loose end of Radagon leaving Rennala question ...he left because he was destined to become the beasts new host and "marry" (join together/become one with) Merika to fulfill a sort of higher belief prophetic task.

Radagon and Marika are the same entity. Radagon is the embodiment of the the faith of Marika to the Greater Will, Marika would then eventually divide herself into two entities because the golden order needed a champion to fight the Carians. It also makes sense for Marika to shatter the Elden Ring because she started having doubts about the Golden Order. Side note: Malenia and Miquella are born out of selfcest? Lol.

I think this is what it is. Similar to his brother Rykard and sister Ranni, he opposes the golden order. The golden order doesn't tolerate disobedience and punishes it harshly (as evidenced by the crucifixes with screaming burned people aloft, in the same shape as the imprisoning rune that holds Marika in the erdtree and appears to be part of the elden ring). Astel is thought to be one of the punishments dished out to Nokstella for the crime of worshipping the night (which is the same trespass that Rennala made which sparked the battle between her (raya lucaria) and Radagon (golden order)). This makes sense because when you kill Radahn, one of the stars that falls lands directly on top of Nokron (another night worshipping civilization) tearing a hole through Mistwood. Basically, the greater will is tryna throw stars at people and Radahn is protecting them even through his madness, literally so powerful that through madness he is still holding all the stars in place with gravity magic directly opposing the greater will. If he wasn't doing that, we wouldn't stand a chance against him in the fight, he's too stronk but using most of his strength to protecc. Radagon and Rennala made some wild kids, but you already know Ranni is my favorite even tho I really do like Radahn. ;) I still feel like I don't really understand why Malenia was fighting Radahn in the first place, please share if you have an idea.

He was so strong that even his surpressed form was strong enough to win every battle. After becoming tarnished because there was no one to fight for him anymore and therefore being exiled by Marika and the greater will the fight against our game character is actually the first time that he takes of his Godfrey persona through killing the spirit lion on his back to become his old self horah loux again. I think we can drop the "born from a single God" part to being an Empyrean. There's plenty of evidence that's not the case and lots of other channels have covered why already. Empyrean just means you have certain qualities about you that causes you to be chosen by your own Two Fingers as a candadite for the next God, and are therefore assigned a shadow and all that other jazz. Furthermore, the bloom near the boss fight with Malenia is NOT one of hers. It's one of Millicent's sisters. Her bloom during the battle is only the 2nd. She leaves behind one like this after you kill her and go back to her boss room, but it's bigger.
@GiustiNacho
@GiustiNacho 2 года назад

@clfoster82 2 года назад
@@GiustiNacho the incantation you get from the rememberance states she has bloomed twice. As in the past. Seems clear to me. Even if that's true about it not being Millicent related, the bloom is not Malenia's. She's been sleeping in the exact spot we find her since she was literally carried there unconscious by a Cleanrot Knight immediately after her fight with Radahn during the Shattering War. But it's heavily implied by Gowry that he's helping her (Millicent) and her sisters bloom, and if you finish her quest she says she'd rather die than turn into something she isn't, with further implications that he's done this to one before her.

That really annoys me... Why would her rememberance refer to her 3rd bloom not having happened yet, when it has? And I think we can assume the bloom would stay on her body til disappearing. Just like to add that I don't believe Malenia has bloomed three times already. I mean, it's a little weird that one of her blooms would just go unnoticed in a side room near her arena, and also, I don't think we can take the "petrified" Scarlet Aeonia as a register of a bloom, since if that was the case, there should be one in Caelid. Considering that thing is what remains when you defeat Malenia, but also when you choose to betray Millicent, I find way more likely to just be another one of Millicent's kin, a Rot Bud, a going-to-be Scarlet Valkyrie, and not the register of Malenia's second bloom.

I don’t think Malenia has hit her 3rd bloom yet. Her 1st bloom ofc, is during her fight with Radahn. Her second bloom is during her fight with us. My belief is that during her second bloom, the traits of the Rot Goddess show up on her body. The bloom outside of her boss room is most likely the bloom of a Valkyrie, like Millicent. This is supported by the fact that if the bloom is much smaller than both the one in our fight with her, and during her fight with Radahn (in the cutscene). This along with the fact that you find the Travelers clothing next to it, which is what both Millicent and her Sisters are wearing, shoes it definitely was not Malenia’s Aeonia outside of her boss room.

AKA Radagon and Marika fused together. However Ranni is a empyrean? And the only one among her siblings? Something there seems suspect. @@kobragaming9420 The lore explicitly states that the empyreans were "chosen" by the Greater Will/Two Fingers. They didn't start off as demi-gods. I have my own crackpot theory that the "Greater Will" and other Outer Gods are in fact powerful AI that are all vying for control of the Erdtree that is actually some sort of ultra powerful super computer paired with some sort of matter/reality altering machine that everyone is using to power themselves. I am inspired by the Arthur C. Clarke quote: _“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”_

@@talkingmudcrab718 the Erdtree only came to be after the greater will hijacked the crucible so what’s more likely is the crucible is this powerful primordial energy that every outer God is vying for control over and the Erdtree and Elden ring were a way for The greater to impose control over the crucible by stealing it and using its energy to create the Erdtree

@@kobragaming9420 The Erdtree was "built" over something called "The Great Tree." I assume using it asa power source. The Erdtree itself is something that was made and therefore a man made object. Again I think it's highly likely it's some sort of super computer, matter collider, or a combination thereof that produces the "magic" and "deities" we encounter in the game. The Primordial Crucible I think is just a fancy term for biology and natural life. Playing with this Crucible created mutations like Misbegotten, Omens, and Demi-Humans. The stories of the Crucible came first because I believe it is what was necessary for the humans of this world to gain the ability to create the Erdtree. It's also possible that one of the Outer Gods like the Greater Will used the Crucible on humans to enact all of this to begin with.

Do you think the ancestral spirits have a hand in the omens? It’s a far fetch but how many creatures actually have horns like the Minotaur-like enemies we find in nokron?

1:48. while I have no direct PROOF, i think that Radagon and Marika were separate but later, the greater will coerced Radagon into fusing with Marika in order to basically trap her in servitude to the greater will. There's some evidence to suggest Marika was beginning to doubt the greater will's purpose and was attempting to defy it. Not to mention evidence that most of Radagon was basically excised from him, IE his rune, his eyes, etc. to act as reinforcement of the greater will's control. It could also be the reason why he's the one we fight before the Elden beast and not marika, as his body is just a extension of their control and they don't want a tarnished interfering with their 'order'

fun fact: An item called morgrotts seal(which you can buy from patches) if you use it it will show all hidden walls

If you use it in a fight against morgott or Margit it will stun him. That's it's main purpose. The revealing hidden walls is an unintended side effect.
