In the year 2013, a strain of the deadly Cordyceps Fungus begins to infect humans and causes a worldwide pandemic. The Cordyceps, an airborne neural-parasite, decimates nearly 60% of the human population, but not before forcing a gruesome transformation unto its hosts. The virus first takes over the host's nervous system, then claims its sight while fungus rapidly grows on the body. During this stage, The Infected are compelled to attack any humans they come into contact with until the Cordyceps kills its host.
Now with over half the human population dead or infected, the United States government is forced to impose martial law and begin to set up quarantine zones all over the country. Showing no mercy, the military execute infected citizens on sight, prompting the rise of an anti-government militia called the Fireflies.
Twenty years later, the Fireflies find themselves cornered by the military and their attempts at creating a vaccine futile. With all hope lost, society is reduced to survival of the fittest and the fittest, like Joel and Tess, are smugglers. But when their contraband is held ransom by the Fireflies, Joel and Tess are forced to escort a mysterious girl, Ellie, to the Firefly headquart -- ELLIE, GOD DANG IT!

9 years later... thats pretty much what it turns into. it turns into a legit adventure. the path they was supposed to take ends up becoming a detour to the wrong paths the entire time. my second favorite part in the game was that neighborhood part. where they had to dodge sum guy up in the window trying to snipe us. that part was fun as heck. i played that on grounded to by the way. good stuff.

It is an escort mission, but you never really need to hold Ellie's hand. She knows to avoid baddies and nasties, is a really and fun character, and, hell, she even becomes useful, helping out with firefights and jumping on guys you're grappling with and stabbing them.

The bloaters are the select few of the infected that survive the cordycep for that long, the majority of infected go as far as the clicker or stalker stage and die and continue the fungus cycle

If you're being serious then I'm sure you already know this but for anyone who sees this, there are many different types of cordyceps that all specialize in a very specific species and usually aid in controlling their population. The species they effect are mostly bugs in the rain forest and the actual parasite is both healthy for humans and used in modern day medicine.

The Last of Us was actually written as a book, this should be done more often in video games, the result is amazing The ending is the moment when Joel kills Marlene and takes Ellie, what you play after that its called an epilogue, basically what happens after the ending If you think about it as a written dialogue, that last conversation is a beautiful ending for a book The Last of Us is not for everyone

Decimate in its Roman version by definition is to reduce by 10% but in the modern point of view it can mean a massive loss of populace/critical items. Concept of the 10% is more the 1 in 10 approach for the Roman Legions Punishment for cowardice in the face of the enemy and was seen as a method of making the Cohorts more afraid of the commander then the enemy meaning they would fight more. An example of this was done during Spartacus Slave Rebellion by Marcus Licinius Crassus.

Decimate doesn't necessarily mean 10%. The definition you are referring to is when the Romans evoked the "decimation" rule when a squad would screw up and kill 1 out of every 10 men or 10% of the squads.

Left 4 Dead: Somehow this zombie can leap buildings, this zombie can blind you by puking on you, this one can strangle you with its tongue, and this one has tripled in size and can chuck cars around like toys. Because that makes sense. Also, you can shoot them in the head with a gun, and chances are, they'll be just fine.

Huh, the fungus is kinda like the fungal parasite that infects insects. It affects their nervous system, causes them to take on a zombie-like nature while looking for the highest point and then fungus starts growing from their hosts body, effectively killing it and possibly infecting other insects nearby.

It's an escort mission, but it doesn't feel like it because not only do you play as Ellie later, but she actually helps you and knows how to hold her own in a fight, be it with firearms or melee.She's not a piss-poor excuse of a 14 year old in an apocalypse, she's much more than that and practically makes the game her own with Joel and (somewhat) Tess. And the developers made it so the AI is usually ignored when there's a glitch (which rarely happens). The game's memorable and is worth a play.
