So true. I was hoping L'Oreal would come out with a Kerastase Therapiste Serum for the drugstore. It's the bottle with the two chambers. My hair loves that stuff.
This is not completely true. Kerastase has a much higher concentration of its key ingredients and although it’s not sulfate free, it’s has MUCH less surfactants as a whole than drugstore shampoos. However, nothing compares to the Olaplex products imo
The Redken acidic bonding concentrate conditioner has essentially completely identical ingredients to this conditioner from L’Oréal, and L’Oréal owns Redken soooo… that’s probably a comparison worth investigating.
I used Redken acidic bonding concentrate conditioning product in hopes of replicating the effects of Olaplex, as per a friends recommendation … I haven’t done enough research on the science behind it, but I can say the results are tangible and I’m extremely pleased!
The conditioners really are nearly identical, thanks for saving me some money!! .. The shampoo ingredients are not comparable though, so I’m sticking with the Redken for shampoo.
The only difference is the Redken one is not sulfate free. L’Oréal one is sulfate free. I’m using it now and made me hair look so much better and softer.
I'm so glad you showed a affordable alternative. I was not prepared to drop that kind of money right away on the pureolgy set but I was lucky enough to find the trial set on sale at ulta for $12 to make sure it would work well for me. After one wash I saw such a difference I was ready to commit.
Emulsifying my shampoo has CHANGED. THE. GAME. I use wayyy less shampoo and it spreads so much faster and easier on my scalp. Such a simple thing but makes such a difference!!
@@mondayonfleek You just put a small amount in your palm and rub your hands together until it kinda lathers and changes colour. Then as you apply it to your scalp add water. It's amazing how far a little bit of shampoo goes doing it this way. She has a video on the technique.HTH
I just started using it and yes, smaller amounts made a difference and my dermatologist said to leave it in for 5 minutes to let the hair absorb well before rinsing out. I have sensitive scalp and psoriasis. And Oh my what a game changer!

Loreal Dream Lengths is honestly an amazing option, with hydrolyzed proteins that help even more with bond repair. I'd actually recommend that instead of Ever Pure Bond Strengthening.
The same thing is happening to cosmetics…more drugstore brands buy out the luxury brands and both are made using similar ingredients. It’s efficient for them to streamline. Sometimes you are simply paying more for a different fragrance.
I wish more hair products were fragrance free.. would definitely spend my money on that if they still showed good results. My hair is long and it causes breakouts on my face and jaw when it’s brushes against it throughout the day-soo now I don’t buy any hair products with fragrance.
I just picked this up and giving it a shot. The other products from this line were my least favorite products of all time. So far, I am really really liking this. I have very very very thin hair and I have to keep it at shoulder length or shorter or it just breaks. I had extensions in for 14 months and miss them so much but so far since taking them out, this is my new favorite find!
I’ve never used Pureology but I actually love the Ever Pure line ( haven’t picked up this set yet ) and I love it! So I think you’ll like it. I use the Rosemary Shampoo and conditioner, but recently started just using the Shampoo and use a Biologe thickening Conditioner and the combo has really helped with alternating with A shampoo and conditioner from the brand Heritage that you’ve used on here and approved some of the line. My hair feels more thicker and bouncy ,shiny and the Heritage brand has helped with some damage and frizz. I actually got a complement from my son , his girlfriend and a friend. I’ve also been not washing my hair but once or twice a week bc I have really greasy hair and it’s getting better, I’ve been letting my hair air dry and when I do use heat I use a heat protectant by Redken.
I just purchased L'oreal Ever pure for color treated hair. Only used it once, so It's too soon to say if it's working well, so I was happy to see this comparison. After watching this, I may consider buying the Purology shampoo and stick with L'oreal conditioner. I just started watching your videos and I have to say I'm very impressed with your knowledge of the ingredients and what they do, especially since I thought I heard you say you aren't a chemist. You obviously do quite a bit of research and can explain it in practical terms. Thank you!!

I can't wait to try these l'oreal products. It was on sale today at the drugstore so i picked some up. I've only been using purology strength cure shampoo/conditioner for around 3weeks now and absolutely love what it's doing for my hair. I was just considering buying the massive bottles of it. I want to try this as well. If it's a cheaper alternative and works well I'm all for the cost savings. Thanks for the video.
I like the l'oreal dream lengths and their volumizing shampoo and conditioner they make my hair feel way more manageable compared to other products I've tried.

I started buying the Pureolgy Strength Cure shampoo and conditioner during the Ulta twice yearly hair events where you can get it for half off, but missed the last sale in June and refuse to pay full price for this so I am all out. I was a Pantene user for years until they changed the formula. I tried the L'Oreal Bond Strengthening Conditioner based in this video and I love, love it!
I just used the Loreal Bond Shampoo for the first time and I loved it! I loved the smell and the way it emulsified, it was almost like it had an oxygenating effect. I thought I would use it before I colored my hair, so we will see how it holds up for the next few days
I absolutely love these as an affordable alternative. I have super dry hair and my hair never gets greasy, so that's not an issue for me. And it doesn't irritate my scalp like many products.

I appreciate your honesty in sulfates, I get rashes on my scalp when I use sulfates but I know a lot of people depend on sulfates to cleanse their scalp!
Abbey, I wrote in a comment on your Pureology purple shampoo video over a year ago that these two product lines are pretty much the same thing. Are they identical, no, but 90-95% of the ingredients are the same label for label. I looked at both of their purple shampoo offering from this line vs Pureology and every ingredient was the same with the exception of plant protein and additional oils and conditioners… pretty much what you said. Having used both product lines, the consumer has two options. Pay ~$7 per bottle for the Ever Pure line for pay ~$28 for the Pureology brand. I find that my hair responds better to the Ever Pure brand in some of their offering and not others and when it doesn’t like the Ever Pure formulation, it likes the Pureology version of it. My suggestion to your viewers… try both formulations/brands of what you’re looking for and use the one that your hair likes better… sometime the high price of a small handful of ingredients in Pureology isn’t always worth it.
I haven't used too many products from Loreal, but I am loving this Loreal Elvive Dream Lenghts No Haircut Cream. It is an amazing conditioner that u leave in.

sooo I've been using a brand called kerastase for a while and I just found out recently that it's owned by Loreal. Makes me want to try Loreal products from the drugstore. Thanks for the video Abbey!
I had an unfortunate run-in with some coconut oil a few months ago, and nothing I did could get rid of the build up. In desperation, I stole my mother's Loreal everpure moisture shampoo and it got all the oil out. Made my hair soft too, even without conditioner. It was a miracle worker.
I have been using mostly sulfate free and silicone free products for about 4 years now and I’ve been watching your videos to learn more about sulfates and silicones. I also like to dye my hair and I am looking for a color safe shampoo and conditioner that is budget friendly. I may have to give L’Oréal Ever Pure a try! I have also found that many sulfate free shampoos tend to make my scalp super itchy and oily on day 2 and 3 and I am looking for other alternatives. I’ve also found that I am super sensitive to some products containing coconut. Some fragrances are too much too! So that eliminates a lot for me. So I’m on the hunt as well!

I've been buying this for the past two years, the orange tube conditioner "loreal ever pure frizz free." Keeps my thin hair frizz free. Now I'm going to buy the pink tube bond repair shampoo she talks about here and see what happens.
I always want to find a drugstorr that I can use as a first shampoo, since it's used to break the surface tension or break the oils up. Now my hair is fine just like yours and it gets dirty by day 3 (training my hair never worked). But I'll try it. It would save me money if a drugstore shampoo could be used as my first shampoo 😅

In order to reverse this damage, bond strengthening shampoos, conditioners and other products reinforce weak hair bonds and broken bonds. They restore strength by penetrating the hair fiber, cleansing it of elements that disrupt the reconnection of these weak hair bonds. 🤷🏻♀️Looking at the ingredients list I don’t see anything that I would think was special compared to others
Might try it one day. Looks tempting to use, but I love my Olaplex shampoo, conditioner and mask to pieces. They’re pricey, but so concentrated, so I get what I pay for with them. Good review!
Olaplex has lawsuits against it for damage and hair loss. Some people have issues with it right away, but others have used it for quite some time before the issues start. So beware.

Here bc aside from the Paul Mitchell black bottle awapuhi my hairdresser makes me buy to maintain their keratin straightening treatment, she told me to buy olaplex. Olaplex is overpriced so I bought this L’Oréal set at Kroger, people say the smell is awful, however Pureology is my holy grail and worth every penny - their ever pure hydrate wasn’t even close to Pureology but I heard L’Oréal owns Pureology anyhow
I’ve tried one of the L’Oréal everpure conditioners and I thought it was nice! I haven’t tried the shampoo, but I’m currently stuck on my Ouai detox shampoo/ pureology strength cure shampoo double-cleanse routine. We have really bad well water and I feel like it’s the only shampoo combo that makes my hair feel normal. Love your videos! 💕
If you have oily hair DONT buy this! Usually I use the pureology strength cure and so I bought this per the recommendation but it doesn’t even feel like it’s cleaning my hair. It’s driving me nuts I have to return it. I literally just used my boyfriends 2 in 1 afterwards (and I would neverrrr) but it just did not clarify-clean my hair.
I would love ot try Pureology so badly the price point is expensive, but maybe I will try to L'Oreal as an alternative until I find a day to splurge on Pureology.

I just really try to stay away from protein since a lot of hair doesn't need it and can actually damage hair. I thought this bond one had protein and i am glad it doesn't.
The L'Oreal conditioner has Dimethicone which does not work well for my hair (and a lot of hair types!). Dimethicone provides that smooth/slip feeling, but builds up over time and doesn't actually moisturize your hair. Product builds up, which prevents the hair from achieving a proper moisture balance :( I've been loving the Shea Moisture "Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate & Repair Intensive Protein Treatment." No dimethicone and has protein, work way better than the Pureology Strength mask :)
I know you check on ph levels of shampoo and conditioners. Did you find out the ph level of this set yet? I cant find it online and haven't got a response from loreal either

Hi! Love your videos. I’m confused about the bond building. If something is bond building, isn’t supposed to repair the bonds like olaplex does snd doesn’t require certain very specific ingredients to do that? Do either the pureology or the L’Oréal have those? Bond building can’t be interpreted as just the prevention of new breakage, can it?
I have naturally curly hair and have gotten two keratin treatments to help decrease frizz and loosen my curl pattern. I know you don’t have curly hair but I would love recommendations that you think would work to help smooth the hair. I currently use the Keratin Complex brand as that is what brand treatment I got. I LOVED the keratin treatment but I feel like there has to be other options! Thanks :)
I just got and tried this L'Oreal shampoo and I have very fine thin but pretty dry hair. Well very dry ends I'm 48 and normal scalp. And in comparison my hair at the scalp looked and felt dirtier quicker than using the Pureology. So I will keep using it but rely only on the times when I will need to wash in a day or two..like if going swimming or hiking etc.
Not gonna lie, when I first saw your videos I thought "who is this basic, rich, white woman?" So disgustingly shameful that I judged you, because now I am addicted to your videos! You should really pursue the career in cosmetic chemistry you've been talking about. You would kill it. I see you owning a personal care line down the road that includes very thoughtfully made skin and hair care products. You're the best!
I am glad that you caught yourself on judging someone but you should look into why you’re so judgmental based on money and race. Basic? That’s so messed up. I know you said you feel shame but I wonder if you have done more than once .
