The angry monkey clan have their own angry monkey 'mech, well another but the Mandrill is sort of unqiue in it's movement though I don't think it is normally represented without using quirk rules.
Ahh yes, the venerable Table Top Simulator, no Clan CiC or Battlemech would be complete without it. On the real, I wish there were more mechs that had strange and interesting lore, and having rules for it. Having a Battlemech go from Biped to Quadruped might sound gimmicky and dumb, but I love gimmicky fun dumb stuff! Flavor is good, even if its not a flavor you always have, or always like
I like the general concept of totem mechs, some are way better than others, but for what it does i would rather have one of the missile variant Adders since the launchers are in the arms and it has no lower arm actuators it also has pulse lasers as backup weapons and both variants are very heat efficient.
The ability to go from a quad to biped I think actually works. Think about it. You either kill it with two shots legs. However if one leg gets taken out it can use its arms to keep up the speed. The swing movement only needs one leg and two arms.
For the speed & weapons...a veh would work better i think. 40 lrms is good...but that lack of speed. WHEN it gets caught, not if, it's dead. & a pricey death.
Remember that Clan LRMs can still be used at close range. Most light hunters that would "catch" this will be regretting that fact rather soon if it still has ammo.
@@Ishlacorrin True, the lack of armor and ability to maneuver is still the problem. A veh' CAN get a mobility kill sure, but for the weight and cost, it's far cheaper and more effective. A light with 40 clan lrm's is really just "we know we shouldn't but we can so we did" thing, because the of most clans hate for veh's and the general BT player mindset of "mech trump all" which isn't even true IN universe.
@@xxxlonewolf49 The big reason Vehicles are not the be all and end all in universe is logistics. It's easier and cheaper to transport mechs and mechwarriors than it is to transport vehicles and vehicle crews. When moving between planets is NOT a concern, then vehicles are much better for the same cost. Attrition of people is always an issue, but even then people are cheap, machines are expensive. When you have to consider different planets and moving between them. A mech that can fit almost any environment, perform almost any role and only needs a single pilot, is far better than a specialised vehicle that needs a crew of 3-6 people and can only go certain places and do certain things. That is why Omni-tech in universe is such a HUGE thing. Being able to use the same units to specialise as required on the fly, is an amazing advantage.
Sort of a hybrid quad/bipedal design. It can move like a quad but I think you have to use the quirk rules to actually use it as a quad for things like movement or crouching.
